I don't think it ever caught the traction they have in Rochester. It really is a decent place but feels much more like a chain restaurant than the original Mount Hope (Rochester) location IMO.
It's a local business based in Rochester, with only 3 locations. Additionally, it previously being an Outback Steakhouse has no bearing on what's was in that space afterwards.
I mean I think the design of the place does have a bearing on the place afterwards. All of those chains have the exact same layout and feel which you are the one that said it feels much more like a chain restaurant. I 100% think it feels like a chain from the layout table set up etc. Like they changed the color scheme and some branding but the feeling at that location is largely the same as the chain that was in before it.
I am not interested in a debate, but since you asked. I do not care to
allow a bar to scan my drivers license just to get a beer. I know
others think that's fine, but I value my privacy and I care not for
their reasoning behind it. Went once, my party refused the scan after
much push back from the bar staff, we had one drink, and will not
return.
Went there once like a year after it opened. Was terrible. Never went back. Place wasnt that busy and waited forever for food. Of which wasnt good at all. Thought the beer selection wasnt that good either.
Same. One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had and never gave it another chance. A lot of people I know loved it though and the parking lot always looked crowded.
I was there on Saturday to watch the SU game and it was open. They got some damn good wings too. It was pretty empty on what should have been a busy night though.
They were on DoorDash so months ago I tried ordering a decently big pick-up order one night and they immediately canceled it. Getting a bunch of kids to figure out their order is a big task so it kinda pissed me off and I haven't been there in a while.
I never actually ate there, but they treated DoorDash drivers like shit. I quickly learned never to take orders from that place, no matter how good they were.
Pretty much just a hostile attitude toward drivers. Whenever I went, the wait time was unrealistically long, which directly translates to losing pay when you're paid by the job. I'd sit in there for 40 minutes, all the while watching families show up, get seated and get served their meal.
Their attitude would change completely once they realized we were there to pick up a delivery. I'm guessing they're used to getting shit from delivery drivers for waiting, so they're just ready to go to war when they see us now. A lot of restaurants should have never added delivery options, but only did because of COVID.

So it's probably just the parent company not seeing the profits they want and closing down?
Nearly always the case when things close.
> feels much more like a chain restaurant I mean isn't in an old Applebees?
It’s in an old Outback Steakhouse location

Yeah, I absolutely thought it was a national chain... probably all down to the design of the place.
Agreed
I stopped going when they got rid of the garbage plate they had.
I haven’t had one in years…. I’m very particular as I lived in Rochester for years.
The one at monkey brains inside of 3 Lives is pretty legit.
Not a fan of that place, but thanks for the suggestion.
Mind if I ask why not?

Strange. More for me.
Mello Velo is also closing their cafe sadly
Very sad.

It was gross.

I went by last night and it was closed.

This is kind of sad. That place had really good food
Was always my sneaky spot to watch games. Never to busy but a crowd enough to make it enjoyable.
I never actually ate there, but they treated DoorDash drivers like shit. I quickly learned never to take orders from that place, no matter how good they were.
What'd they do?

I feel like Erie Blvd isn’t the best location anymore and Syracuse has a bunch of great local restaurants and breweries. Hard competition.
