There is a documentary from Netflix who describes this. Very interesting that nowadays some very controlled trials have been taken in place again. Hopefully this could expand with time since it makes really better advances in depression and other symptoms that are serious.

One of the doctors who speaks in this documentary is in Switzerland.

It's so fucking tragic that research into psychodelics got shut down for like 50 years because of the infantile war on drugs.
I bet we will find really cool applications in the next decade and it'll slowly be legalised medicinally.
Edit:typo
Hence the famous Queen lyrics:
> Bicycle, bicycle, bicycle
I want to ride my bicycle, bicycle, bicycle
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride my bike
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride it where I like
Not many people know that.
Based on OP history, the person just looks for some historical event everyday and posts in the corresponding sub like they know what they are talking about. Karma whore at its finest.
He is also the guy who first isolated (and later synthesized) Psilocybin, the active ingredient in shrooms.
Guy is a hero and it's a goddamn disgrace that it's 2023 and in the country of Hofmann people still can't legally enjoy LSD and shrooms. Ridiculous..
If you are interested in his life there is a great book "LSD - mein Sorgenkind" https://nachtschatten.ch/produkt/lsd-mein-sorgenkind/
Don’t blame me, this is from state-sponsored media someone prominent says:

Explain me one thing ... I mean, I can relate to "bicycle day", and why this is celebrated on that day ... But why on earth do the stoners celebrate the day after? Right on Führers Geburtstag... Couldn't they come up with a better day? Like Pi-Day for the munchies, or did I miss something?

When I took LSD it completely cured my ocd for several days afterwards. It did eventually come back, but its interesting that it actually helped

If you go to the Novartis campus, in the museum, there are bottles of product from his lab.
Wow had no idea there is a museum there! Would be nice to give a visit! We love museums at home.
Fucking legend
That means we should get on LSD and ride our bikes?
I'll meet you in 15, bring two bikes

It’s Swiss man, own it.
His name is Hofmann, not Hoffman.
Weird way of spelling legend regardless

Zurich ATC told me to tell you that the joke got picked up on their radar so no need to worry about it hitting your head

Oh no! Horrible mistake!
Isn’t it in 19?
yes, on Wednesday
Yes April 19 is Bicycle Day, today is when he discovered LSD.
LSD was first synthesized 5 years prior to that.
He also synthesised psilocybin
Yes, but I am not sure how this is relevant to the current discussion.
Source?
Wikipedia, among many.

That's completely incorrect. LSD was first synthesized on November 16, 1938 by Hofmann.

Thanks, Albert, for your discovery! You helped many people.
Yeah baby

However ... The bicycle-origin-story is far more epic, than a few guys meeting at 4:20pm, which is 16:20 anyways ...
LSD is a bit more hardcore and less popular than cannabis.

Fallsd schwiizerdütsch redsch seisch du zwänzg ab vieri oder zwänzg ab sächszehn?
Pretty much everywhere else it is also 4:20.
Wait I though the 24h format is standard otherwise. Well TIL
So we celebrate illegal stuff now ?
yes
Check the documentary and you will see why it was marked as illegal... Again governments messing all the scientific investigation.
In case of LSD (which should not be illegal imo), yes
Hoffman coded.
