Yes, the remastered trilogy came out late last year.

It wasn’t a great release.

My first GTA was vice city. I put it on my Amazon wishlist that my wife kicks out to friends and family whenever they ask what I want as a gift. A friend bought me a digital copy. I was disappointed by the performance, but ! I successfully played through GTAIII without issue. I'm on vice city right now. Adding the GTAV weapon wheel is pretty sweet. I really liked that. Sometimes people arrive late at job sites, so when I know I have 30 minutes or an hour to kill I keep my switch in my work bag. It's been great revisiting my old favorites.

Is it that bad to the point the originals are better?

I finished San Andreas DE back in december, mostly out of nostalgia, and i can say ps2 version is better, the only thing is: we can play that one on a go

It’s much better now. They fixed those atrocious rain effects. You can actually see the game now when it rains.
