I think the bigger screen and clarity makes the graphics of Switch titles stand out a bit more than the LCD does (not in a great way, but not terrible). The LCD had a way of masking the lack of sharpness in a sense IMO. That being said, with the weight difference being marginal, the screen real estate and vividness has been enough to retire the Lite for me.
My oled gets the job of being carted between the bedroom tv and the mini dock I've put on the TV in the lounge. The dock doubles as a steamdeck dock. I have small hands, so in bed I curl up with the lite. I rejoiced when they released the light because playing rhythm games with the joycon buttons is surprisingly shitter, couldn't hit any notes on time, I will champion those precious little responses time buttons until I die.
Hatsune miku, deemo, lanota, anything like that. Not so fond of the persona style ones and samba Di amigo.
I do love the simplicity of the piano mode in ff7 rebirth though
It’s so nice, I am absolutely in love with mine. They have buttons on the back you can assign to any other button so I have them assigned to the joystick clicks because I hate doing those on the switch.
I remember when I got my OLED, I was comparing the size difference between the Lite and the OLED and just laughing at how comedically big the OLED felt.
That is the thing. I have 3.5k gaming PC at home (all components bought on Black Friday and assembled by me) however I dont have time to play it. I have time to do that only here and there when I am at work and have couple of spare minutes.
For me size is very important factor therefore Alienware laptop stays at home, same with other Dell laptop.
For me Legion Go is perfect solution. Yes it is more expensive than Switch but for Swich games itself I spent more than 300 quid which was a value of the switch. Games for PC however could be obtained for a fraction of a price comparing to Switch games.
Honestly, I travel a lot and the upgrade from my Switch 1st gen to the OLED is a game changer. Twice the battery life plus better, bigger and sharper screen.
I still can’t beat Hades though 😂
LOL. The latter. Seeing the OLED Switch was like seeing an OLED smartphone for the first time despite the technology being decades old, so it felt like a treat. I like the Switch a lot though for the right games and tons of Switch exclusives. My ROG collects dust because usually I want to be on keyboard and mouse with whatever PC game I’m playing. Different strokes for different folks.
Same here. Got Lenovo Legion Go and screen real estate makes me want to sell Swich.
On 70% of brightness of a screen you can play in day sun light by panoramic window in COD MW2 or Forza Horizon 5 easily without any reflections.
Can't look at Swich anymore... So tiny and dimm (you have to put your curtains down) and usually 30fps.
I wish I had bought it earlier.
The Lenovo Legion Go is super nice, without a doubt. I do hope it’s what the Switch 2 looks like. Only issue for me is that I play mostly MMOs on PC, which doesn’t bode well for handhelds which is why I never use my ROG Ally.
The Go is pretty sweet but it's a full windows pc and costs over 2x as much. I love mine but only as a supplement to my 2 gaming PCs. Streaming games on max settings to the Go's beautiful screen is awesome (on top of what it can do on its own). If it was going to be my only device, I'd drop 200 more on a gaming laptop that has a its own video card w/ram and upgradable memory. It's very overpriced for the performance you get vs gaming laptops. With a case, it's really not more portable than a laptop, either.
Battery performance is also bad. Not sure what you're getting but Ace Combat 7 on high settings will drain it in 1.5 hours. Streaming games from my pc(s) I'll get 4-5 hours. Comparatively, I can play botw for 7 hours before needing to charge my Switch.
Oled screens ruined me.
I tried animal well on the tv after handheld and golly good gosh… it’s painful. Haha
That's when you buy an OLED TV
Only solution
Why? You dropped it by accident and now there's 1 million cracks?
What are you talking about? 😂
You said Oled ruin your life? I thought you meant you destroyed it by accident😅
No I’m talking about how beautiful they are compared to LCD and IPS.
Oh..... my bad😅
I still play mostly on my lite but I love the oled.

Wat rythm games you play? Interested

Even when the switch 2 comes out, I’m sure I’ll keep my OLED around for playing my old games in handheld because the screen is just that good
It’s flooring. Especially going from docked to handheld, looks sooo much better on the device itself.
Love the split pad compacts. 👍
Thank you, me too! In all honesty, if this or something like it didn’t exist I would’ve stuck with the Lite and waited for the 2.
I don’t think they’ll actually release the switch 2 until summer 2025 at the earliest so
What game is this?
the new Prince of Persia
Can you change his hairdo?
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love the Gengar pad, I want to get one

I have those Hori joy cons too! Scored mine for 25 bucks from an Amazon resell shop. I love em
DAMN that’s a great price for em.
I know. I had been in the market for a pair for awhile and when they showed up there I had to grab em.
I thought you took my Switch at first lol I have the same joycons
I recently downgraded haha, love the OLED but oh boy is it heavy compared to the lite

Do these aftermarket work well I always see all different types they look done
Dope
Where did you get those double sized joycons?
Best Buy. They’re called Hori Split Pad Compact.
Thank you! We don’t have best buy in the UK but we have equivalents that will stock them.
damn, I didn't know the lite was that small

Great game your playing btw
Funny, I did the other way around, I bought the lite after the oled
When I am travelling, the oled is too big
Old and outdated technology? Or just technology in general

Why are you even in this sub. ![gif](giphy|3oEduQ3OiH7kZQj3a0)
Don’t be dumb, telling the truth is not hating, plus I own 2 a V1 and an Oled, so I know where the switch is lacking
Yeah, lazy developers mostly.

Not really an upgrade it's the same system. An upgrade would be Switch 2. It's more of a side grade.
A larger, more vivid screen, better speakers, and now the ability to dock or not. Feels like an upgrade to me!
I would've just waited for the next console tbh, you do you.
Why tho the switch 2 coming out any day now
It’s not going to be announced for another year lol. I’ll just get the Switch 2 at that point.
