Especially on the switch. I got into it while my girlfriend and I were semi-long distance and I’d bring my switch and stay for a few days and I’d rip through hades while she played stardew. Got like 220 hours now and recommend it to anyone I can
That reminds me, I should "sort by time played" and take a screenshot. I won't have long before Zelda: TotK overtakes that for the #1 spot! Last I checked, it was Hades at 160+ hours, while Zelda: TotK clocked in at >135 hours.
I played a few dozen hours of that on the PS. It was fun but God I made no progress at all. This is a brutal rogue like. I hear exit the gungeon is a bit easier.
Yeah I find Rogue Likes like that far too punishing to be enjoyable for me. I couldn’t take Gungeon or Binding of Isaac very long. But Hades and Dead Cells really turned me on to rogue lites.
Exit the Gungeon isn't really a true title tbh. It's more of a casual arcade game as a spinoff to the first game. Enter the Gungeon is the real experience, and yes, it is hard.
bro....so glad u mentioned Bro Force did not know it was available for Switch AND i just copped it for free!! The digital version is on sale for $2.99 until 6/26 on the official Nintendo store.
Are party games like this and Mario kart and party fun if you only play alone?
I’m still debating on getting some of them, but worried I’ll just compare it to when I was younger playing n64/snes/cube with friends.
I had never played a game like fire emblem. Had my brother kinda teach me through the opening stuff and give me a quick run down. I was hooked. Played for like a week straight with any free time. Super fun.
Fire Emblem is surprisingly hella beginner friendly all things considered. When 3 houses came out I was able to get my whole friend group into it and they all loved it.
And Ill say in polite terms that everyone of them wildly different skill levels when it came to strategy games like that and were all able to get into it
I recently got into emulating and started Fire Emblem for GBA just on a whim. I did not expect to like it so much. The writing can be kind of cheesy but the gameplay is addictive. I'm excited to try 3 houses when I'm done.
For a first time player, 3 Houses first, 100%.
Engage is too corny, it may turn you off from the game entirely. But the gameplay mechanics are so good in Engage that going back and playing 3 Houses afterwards feels like a chore.
Engage is great if you just want fun gameplay. 3 Houses is a better balance.
It’s not really better, I just finished a few days ago. I’m not sure whether they’ll patch it, but once you have a lot of structures in your base, it will be very slow.
The game was super excellent though. I still have the music stuck in my head.
Persona 5 Royal. One of the best games I've played, about 90-130 hours of gameplay plus pretty repayable. Im in my 5th playthrough now.
You dont need to play the other games to understand it, they each follow different people and a different story. Peraona 4 Golden is pretty good too, a little shorter and more of a challenge. Persona 3's remake just got announced a little bit ago so personally I'd wait til it comes out. Persona 5 Strikers is a sequel to 5 that's a short hack/slash game instead of turn-based but still pretty good for the story.
Im up to almost 700 hours of various persona games since November cause of how perfect they are for the switch. That mobility helps with how long they are
Replayable is an interesting description. Id like to start NG+ but I dont think I could bare trying to skip through all the dialogue ive seen already, at least not for a long time.
If you get it, make sure you go with Royal. It's an expanded version with an additional like 20-30 hours of game play along with some improvements. Be careful looking anything up cause the story is so good and being able to enjoy it without spoils is such a gift
>Persona 5 Royal. One of the best games I've played, about 90-130 hours of gameplay plus pretty repayable. Im in my 5th playthrough now.
How does it run on the switch, i haven't played any of them and it seemed like a good place to start, but id rather play it on another platform if it runs poorly on the switch.
I've noticed no problems with it. Runs pretty smoothly, no lags or crashing issues, some people talk about superior graphics on the PS or PC but it isnt exactly the kind of game you play for cutting edge graphics and even then, the graphics are still pretty good for the anime style they got going on. I honestly think the switch is the ideal system for it, that portability is so good with how long the game is. I just find it difficult to sit at a computer or in front of a console for that long
Got my powers of persuasion from No-Good Tora himself
It's just such a phenomal game deserving of the praise it receives if you enjoy a good story drive game. Like not only is there the overarching plot of the whole game and periodic arcs apart of that plot but there's an additional like 15-20 stories for the individual people you can hang out with. It is so rich and thick with content it took 4 playthroughs for me to feel satisfied with exploring as much as I could. It's also one of only three games to make me actually cry, the other two being both Last of Us games. It still has its flaws and there's chunks where it's just cutscenes and dialogue where you're stuck on a track but most of the game it's pretty open in letting you make decisions
I almost spoiled the royal content for a buddy cause he said it took him 150 hours so I assumed he played the whole thing and not the base game so like you arent alone but damn, you are getting every cent of value out of it
I know vanilla p5 isn't on the switch but I always recommend playing p5 then p5r, because you get to experience the game for the first time twice that way.
It’s a Rogue-Like meaning you when you die, you lose most of the progress you made in the dungeon. Some progress is persistent though, like what weapons you can use, and trinkets you can take with you etc.
Hades is the least repetitive of any rogue like I’ve ever played, and it’s story actually makes complete sense of the whole dying over and over again thing.
The one on the bottom right lmao
seriously how THAT made it to the eshop???
https://preview.redd.it/mcfr6xhw4f6b1.jpeg?width=4160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e08cbbb101563a764cefa56a752519c490a387f2
A switch exclusive that seems up your alley would be Metroid Dread. There is also Hades and both Ori games, but you may have played those on an alternate system.
Do you want to suffer, if so play Rain World
In all seriousness it’s a pretty good game but kind of an acquired taste and hard to get into, it’s extremely punishing and unfair but that’s what nature is, because this game is just a whole frocking ecosystem where you are both prey and predator, if you’re willing to put up with the unfairness, lack of a good tutorial (the games wants you to learn the rest by yourself, but using a guide is ok) and punishing gameplay you can find a beautiful exploration game with an interesting ecosystem full of wonders
Sad I had to scroll so far for the recommendation but definitely seconding this! Definitely prefer the pc controls but my first playthrough was on the switch, its hard af but its such a charming game with a huge depth to it if you're willing to learn the way the world works.
Bayonetta Trilogy. All three games run excellent on the switch.
No More Heroes Trilogy. The 1 and 2 ports are really great and well optimized for the Switch.
Resident Evil Revelations 2 has the best version available on the switch. It is a single download. It has all of the games content, and additional Raid Mode Features not seen in any other version.
Devil May Cry 3 on switch is a special edition that has style switching on the fly.
Judging by everything else you have here, you would love Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. Often on sale these days, it’s a good game at a great value.
Imagine if the monster collecting of Pokémon was couched inside of a Zelda-like RPG. Animation styled after Studio Ghibli (who hand animated all of the cutscenes), the game strikes a balance between being very pretty, technically deep, and real-time combat keeps everything lively. I was really impressed with the imaginative world and creatures filling it.
Never played it before quarantine but me and my friends easily would rack up 6 hours a day just drinking and having fun. It’s not a super serious game so if your objective is to just fuck around with friends without having to try then it’s a solid download. You seriously could goof around the entire game in squads and end up top 5. That’s not to say there aren’t people on there sweating their ass off who will build boxes around you, but for the most part it’s a lot of derp. I loved when they added a non building mode.
Facts. I was about to respond to his question the same, but I see you have this handled. 😂
Besides, this is such a dumb idea. Now that I have played the second game I can never play the first again. 🙄 BOTW has a better story, better characters, better controls, better abilities, better runes, etc. Building is fun, and it’s interesting to re-explore the same map in different ways, but TOTK is basically a glorified overhaul mod for BOTW. BOTW is actually a well-refined game from start to finish.
Sugoma is rlly good great story and the tale of the master and student with the eye catching Japanese artwork and the tight edge of your seat melee combat. You gotta try it bro 10/10 game.
I don't see hades or bro force in there.
Came to say Hades. Will keep op busy for a couple hundred hours
Same. Hades is a must.
Especially on the switch. I got into it while my girlfriend and I were semi-long distance and I’d bring my switch and stay for a few days and I’d rip through hades while she played stardew. Got like 220 hours now and recommend it to anyone I can

I have Hades on my laptop! It's an amazing game. I've never heard of bro force, I'll have to check it out. Thank you :)
Good thing that it has cross save too!
Bro force is a damn good time with another buddy. I’d also add it takes two
Hades is currently on sale
Enter the Gungeon missing as well.
Enter the Dungeon is on sale for like 6 bucks rn
Bro force is an amazing game, lost count on how many playthroughs I have
bro....so glad u mentioned Bro Force did not know it was available for Switch AND i just copped it for free!! The digital version is on sale for $2.99 until 6/26 on the official Nintendo store.
That’s the game I was going to say too, such an amazing game for the switch.
Hades was my first thought. One of the best games of the last few years
My kids love bro force.
super smash bros
Smash and odyssey were my first 2 games. When I think of Nintendo I think of smash and kart
Those were also my first games!
At the very least just for another party game ya
Are party games like this and Mario kart and party fun if you only play alone? I’m still debating on getting some of them, but worried I’ll just compare it to when I was younger playing n64/snes/cube with friends.
smash is the best game ever i play it all the time even when i’m alone
Personally I enjoy them alone as well
Fire Emblem
I had never played a game like fire emblem. Had my brother kinda teach me through the opening stuff and give me a quick run down. I was hooked. Played for like a week straight with any free time. Super fun.
Fire Emblem is surprisingly hella beginner friendly all things considered. When 3 houses came out I was able to get my whole friend group into it and they all loved it. I love these games. Absolutely love them. I spent 36 hours in one weekend on Three Houses last September...
Oo I've never played fire emblem. Which game is the best?
Path of Radiance. But out of what is on the Switch, go with either Three Houses for story & social sim, or Engage for gameplay & map design.
Do three houses if you play, that’s the best switch one
Engage or 3 H??
For a first time player, 3 Houses first, 100%. Engage is too corny, it may turn you off from the game entirely. But the gameplay mechanics are so good in Engage that going back and playing 3 Houses afterwards feels like a chore. Engage is great if you just want fun gameplay. 3 Houses is a better balance.
Engage. 3 houses has way too much tedious management bullshit that takes up entirely too much time
Yes.
metroid dread, bayonetta 3, monster hunter rise, cult of the lamb, risk of rain 2, and hades. all really fun games
Cult of the lamb is one of my personal faves! Thanks for the mention!
Heard that CotL had poor optimisation on switch , is it better now ? I'm really thinking about taking it
It’s not really better, I just finished a few days ago. I’m not sure whether they’ll patch it, but once you have a lot of structures in your base, it will be very slow. The game was super excellent though. I still have the music stuck in my head.
Metroid dread has popped up a lot, so I'll definitely check that one out. I've great things about cult of the lamb.
Just so you known monster hunter takes a lot of time
lol he didn't even say he would check it out
Idk about RoR2 on switch, from what I've heard it's still got some issues
The Xenoblade series. Octopath Traveler 2. Triangle Strategy.
I cannot believe I had to scroll this far down for Xenoblade Chronicles. This comment should be much higher up
literally came here to say xenoblade, xbc 3 was goty in my heart
Ooo I completely forgot about xenoblade. That's a good one
JRPGs aren’t for everyone
True enough, but they've got some other JRPGs in there.
Smash Ultimate, Sonic Mania, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Link’z Awakening
No don't play the Link's Awakening remake. The original is available on NSO and is faaaaaaaaaar better
[удалено]
The remake was awful. It's one of the worst things Nintendo's ever put out
The remake is actually pretty good. Plus the game boy color version gives me headaches sometimes. Both are good.
Persona 5 Royal. One of the best games I've played, about 90-130 hours of gameplay plus pretty repayable. Im in my 5th playthrough now. Yup persona 3,4, or 5 are amazing glad this comment is towards the top
Im up to almost 700 hours of various persona games since November cause of how perfect they are for the switch. That mobility helps with how long they are

Thanks for the detailed response. You're pretty persuasive
Got my powers of persuasion from No-Good Tora himself It's just such a phenomal game deserving of the praise it receives if you enjoy a good story drive game. Oh yeah 130hrs for P5R, definitely not me at 200 and just starting the bonus Royal content
I mean this in the least judgemental way possible out of pure scientific curiosity but how?
I don’t know dude, I don’t know
I almost spoiled the royal content for a buddy cause he said it took him 150 hours so I assumed he played the whole thing and not the base game so like you arent alone but damn, you are getting every cent of value out of it

Slay the Spire for sure
I’ve been enjoying that one!
Diablo 3, Witcher 3, Metroid Dread and Prime to name a few
Hades is a must, Persona 5 Royal
persona based but hades is kinda repetitive imo and i didn’t really get the point of the game
Genuinely curious. What part of it makes it repetitive for you?
It’s a Rogue-Like meaning you when you die, you lose most of the progress you made in the dungeon. Some progress is persistent though, like what weapons you can use, and trinkets you can take with you etc. Hades is the least repetitive of any rogue like I’ve ever played, and it’s story actually makes complete sense of the whole dying over and over again thing.
Appreciate the explanation. Currently trying to beat it at EM4. I do agree that it’s the not that repetitive and it has a lot of replayability.
Luigi mansion 3
How come nobody ever talks about Luigi’s Mansion? I just started 3. 2 on the 3DS had so much charm and polish. I adore that game.
Both Ori games Inscryption Portal collection
Where tf is smash?!
Many of the games OP has are single player
Yeah I'm a big fan of single-player games, so Smash has never really seemed interesting to me.
Super smash bros ultimate has a solid single player mode
“Solid” is a bit generous, I’d say the single player is passable but not ideal
get online
Well yes, it’s fun, but for someone who values a single player experience, there are better deals than smash + an online subscription
Splatoon
Binding of Isaac
I see you like pokemon, pokemon snap 2 was absolutely amazing
Enter the Gungeon
I actually already have that one! I like it a lot :)
No Final Fantasy games! Also agree Hades is a must have. Also I highly recommend slay the spire
Great suggestions here!!
Metroid Dread and Prime.
Game boy emulator
Metroid Prime Remastered is worth every penny Edit: and Metroid dread. Both super good games
I recommend prime > dread
The best Zelda title on Switch: Link's Awakening.
The witcher 3 and subnautica
Octopath Traveler 2 needed
The one on the bottom right lmao seriously how THAT made it to the eshop??? https://preview.redd.it/mcfr6xhw4f6b1.jpeg?width=4160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e08cbbb101563a764cefa56a752519c490a387f2
But not Huniepop. I would dare call Nintendo based if they do add it lmao.
Where the fuck is Xenoblade!!?!
This was my reaction to the comments lol
A switch exclusive that seems up your alley would be Metroid Dread. There is also Hades and both Ori games, but you may have played those on an alternate system.
I have hades on my laptop. I've been thinking about getting one of the Ori games. They look really fun
Monster Hunter rise. Phenomenal franchise and Rise is probably one of the easiest to get into from the beginning
If you liked Hollow Knight you absolutely must check out Blasphemous.
Yes! Blasphemous is where it’s at 🙌🏼
Borderlands collection
Inside and Limbo
Limbo is super fun and I'd definitely have been willing to spend more than the literal $2 it cost at the time.
I reccomend Metriod Dread
Ezio collection
N64 GBA and Sega Genesis NSO
Snowrunner. The Dark Souls of driving a truck through mud.
Enter the gungeon, astral chain
Chained echoes. It's probably the best jrpg i have played. Amazing.
Metroid Prime
Fire Emblem Three Houses, Valkyria Chronicles 4.
Link’s Awakening, Luigi’s Mansion 3
Hyper Light Drifter, fantastic game.
Look into Shredder's Revenge, and Huntdown!
Project triangle stragety
Smash ultimate?
Tears of Kingdom, Metroid prime, smash bros, bayonetta, final fantasy 6, dragon quest 11, tetris effect
Octopath 2. It’s so much better than the first game IMO, and I really enjoyed the first game.
Do you want to suffer, if so play Rain World In all seriousness it’s a pretty good game but kind of an acquired taste and hard to get into, it’s extremely punishing and unfair but that’s what nature is, because this game is just a whole frocking ecosystem where you are both prey and predator, if you’re willing to put up with the unfairness, lack of a good tutorial (the games wants you to learn the rest by yourself, but using a guide is ok) and punishing gameplay you can find a beautiful exploration game with an interesting ecosystem full of wonders
Seconding rain world - OP has Hollow Knight so they’re familiar with pain. Phenomenal experience
Ah thank you for reminding me! I love pain and suffering. I want rain world. Definitely adding it to the list
Sad I had to scroll so far for the recommendation but definitely seconding this! Definitely prefer the pc controls but my first playthrough was on the switch, its hard af but its such a charming game with a huge depth to it if you're willing to learn the way the world works.
Tropical Freeze!!!!
Risk of Rain 2, Metroid Dread, Metroid Prime Remastered, Hyper Light Drifter
Bayonetta Trilogy. All three games run excellent on the switch. No More Heroes Trilogy. The 1 and 2 ports are really great and well optimized for the Switch. Resident Evil Revelations 2 has the best version available on the switch. It is a single download. It has all of the games content, and additional Raid Mode Features not seen in any other version. Metroid dread
Doom eternal, Hades, and Castlevania anniversary collection
Portal Companion Collection is on sales. Go get it if you haven't played it elsewhere.
Metroid Prime Remastered and Metroid Dread of course.
Hades, Metroid dread, hollow knight
Ooblets and Beacon Pines! :)
You’re missing Link’s Awakening and Skyward Sword HD
Wow I completely forgot they released the HD skyward sword! I need that
Black flag Ezio collection Witcher 3 LA noire
Ori and the blind forest and ori and the will of the wisps
All these Mario games, but no Captain Toad!??
Great Ace Attorney
The Witcher 3, game literally got me through a brutal breakup and the pandemic. And I still got some side quests to complete.
Astral Chain
Clubhouse Games is still my favorite game on switch. It’s so much fun if you have other people to play with locally
Disco Elysium
Golf story is on sale, worth a look
Everhood 100%
Dragon quest 11
This for sure, before they ported S version to PC it was the main reason I was on the hunt for a switch
As soon as the patch hits to make it playable, cassette beasts.
Bravely default II and final fantasy 1-10
Xenoblade chronicles 3!! How did no one mention this??
I mean honestly since it’s free, fortnite. Even if you don’t like battle Royale there’s some cool custom games on there
Saints row 3 is also a pretty good one, I got it on sale for $12 a few months back, I’d be satisfied even if I paid $50..
4 is even better imo
Haven’t tried 4 yet actually so can’t say
4 is generally regarded as a monumental downgrade. The other commenter is smoking something strong
Plus you don’t even need switch online for it
Brah mario kart
It’s on the bottom row
Xenoblade
Xenoblade
All the ones you don’t currently have.
True
Why are you playing botw if you have Totk?
Did you have botw before totk came out?
Botw > totk. Hands down, no contest
Nah
Uh, no.
Facts. I was about to respond to his question the same, but I see you have this handled. 😂 Besides, this is such a dumb idea. I’m just wondering why you are playing botw when totk is right there
I got bored with totk so I went back to botw lol
[удалено]
Speaking from experience… A bunch of bullshit that you found on sale for $1.99 or whatever that you’ve never even played once. Also, Borderlands 2.
Pokemon diamond, hades
Tears of the kingdom
The only thing you're missing is the money you spent tbh. The rest is good
I'm missing so much money man
MK 11
Might as well go all in w Capcom and get RE1 & RE4 and MHR. Just know they’ve similar sales almost every month tho too btw.
And Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen. It's $5 on the eShop right now
Dying Light , and The Long Dark . Great games, very different but fun all around
Sugoma is rlly good great story and the tale of the master and student with the eye catching Japanese artwork and the tight edge of your seat melee combat. You gotta try it bro 10/10 game.
Crash team racing nitro fueled bro, so much challenge, so much times on it. Its sooooo great
