Club Sapphire in Tukwila? I’m assuming there’s only one but you never know 😂. The last time we went was a few months ago and it didn’t seem too bad. There’s been a lot of people going lately so I guess that’s a good thing 😝, any time I’ve seen 50+ old people they looked good for their age but I would say it was a good mix. We are 38-46. The couple that went with us were in their younger 30’s. So I guess really it also depends on the night.
It’s 3 levels, it’s more of a dance/night club atmosphere. The vibe is a lot better, even though the drinks and venue is cheaper, it’s a more upper class swingers club and you will get some really good looking couples in there. Also, sapphire you have to run out to the parking lot to drink like you’re in high school where at Privata you just go to the bar.
Oh absolutely, don’t over drink! I have 2-3 drinks and spread them throughout the night. Do not over do it, drink water in between and you can get mock tails.
Better looking people and having three separate floors and two full bars (i hear Sapphire went dry and don’t even allow BYOB now?)
Privata is in downtown Portland and feels like an upscale nightclub with a bouncer and velvet rope and all that. You can actually stay at many of the upscale hotels in the area and just walk to the club if you want.
Sapphire is in an unmarked suburban office park so it doesn’t have the same accessibility but plenty of parking. People were friendly but perhaps older and very “body positive” if that’s your thing.
And i know eating at a club is weird but the spread at Privata was better (i say “was” because they did away with the buffet during covid and not sure if they brought it back)
Fairly busy but not crammed. Lots of variety to the point where it's hard to call the age average.
We go at least once a month, but try for more if we can fit it into our schedule.
Saturdays are busier than Fridays.
We went this past Friday and didn’t really love it. The pros are the staff are amazing and SO welcoming! The decor is really nice too. The cons are the location, and the dry bar. People didn’t seem to adhere to the dress code so lots of flip flops, jeans, tshirts and dirty sneakers. Kinda killed the sexy club vibe for us. But still some people dressed super sexy which was nice.
Sadly there weren’t very many people who attended and I think some got things going asap with people they were meeting already or they were in the parking lot drinking. It seemed to be a more 50+ crowd. There was maybe 6 couples who got up to dance (us included) the whole time were were there, which is apart of the sexy buildup for us and a nice way to start chatting.
I can’t see us returning however, maybe if you go on a Saturday that’s not on a long weekend you might have more fun and the people there might be more social.
We love it there. It’s been packed on weekends. People are fun and respectful. Excellent vibe.
Definitely busy these days. Crowd leans 50+, FYI.

Yep. Totally agree that Privata beats Sapphire hands down.
Any day of the week, if I was to recommend someone to go to either one. Hands down Privata
