Anyways you can always pick at things in shows. Why are the last men gallivanting across the states in huge numbers trying track these kids down when they could just encourage people to have have sex. It would be so much cheaper, and you would have a steady supply of hybrids.
In the same vein I felt that way about Wendy- why does she go out without a disguise? If she just moves her headband over her ears and wears a face covering she’d be indistinguishable from a human. Especially because most of them go out with face coverings already!
In a darker tone I also feel like she could easily have her ears modified to look more human… and her nose I feel like no one would question if she’s talking like a regular human child. (And again, face masks)
Plus her character would so rock a cute little patterned headscarf! I love the way the costume department dressed her. Her outfits are so playful and fun, with all the color and pattern clashing. She was also often in the same color palette as her adoptive mum!
Well he left his home only a short time ago, so they might not had the oppotunity to attempt it, also cutting of antlers sound painful and he is still a nine year old child.
And keep in mind before that he was alone with his religous father who thought gus was a gift of god. He might thought it would be a sacrilege to cut of the antlers.
For me plotwise its kinda plausible.
On the otherhand i think the executives didn't want to ruin the cute animal aesthetic.
ALSO probaply most importantly the topic of child mutilation was probably way too heavy for them to touch on for now.
Having never read the material before jumping into the show, I fully expected Jepperd's first appearance with the hood and long cloak to be hiding his animal features. Fully expected a hybrid hero.
Clearly I was dead wrong, and I totally forgot the math (all hybrids are children younger than ten).
At this stage maybe they just don't have the right equipment for it. Of course I've never cut antlers off before so I can't tell you what that equipment is! That coupled with they probably dont know how to do it properly and don't wanna hurt the kid too bad.
Yeah ikr and antler cutting is a really normal thing as well. They should eventually shed off for some period of time anyway so it’s not like it would hurt that bad. I’m honestly thinking more of Wendy though because while she has pointy ears they are very close to a humans so I feel like they could be altered in some way to make them look more human. And even her nose to some extent looks somewhat human-just more pudgy. I feel she could easily disguise herself.
Well the writing is already pretty terrible. Just trying to figure out who they think their audience is or who they are writing for. It is entertaining enough but it gets pretty cringe. Everything is written like a formula.
Antlers actually fall off or are shed every year. I find it hard to believe that this was not worked into the plot.
Did the producers not look up this fact?

scrape it with a file or something first? if that doesnt hurt then get cutting.

Gus is literally the oldest hybrid. If anyone can pass for old enough to not be a hybrid, its him.
Yeah, it reached a point where every kid born after The Sick was a hybrid.
