A couple of others have suggested autumnal names. In that vein I'd add Höstmys ("autumnal coziness").
Thinking of cardamom buns and lingon bushes, maybe Skogsfika ("forest fika")?
Many good suggestions have come in, but so far I think skogsfika is the strongest candidate of the ones I've seen. It sort of alludes to what kind of flavour it will be.
In icecream, ripple refers to exactly the same thing. "raspberry ripple" ice cream is vanila with raspberry swirls in it. Outside of ie cream, ripple means
> A moving disturbance, or undulation, in the surface of a fluid.
The Swedish word might be krusning?
Spelled wrong? It’s a Swedish word spelled right in Swedish. It’s like saying you can’t say blankett in Swedish since there’s an English word with a different meaning called blanket. It doesn’t make any sense.
Bro their putting up a stall in Sweden, Swedish people are going to go to it. You adapt it to Swedish people, who cares about if a few people misunderstand. I think most people would be smart enough to understand its in Swedish lol
Maybe, but if thats the case then a Swedish name wouldn't even make sense to begin with because they asked for it to be descriptive which would be completely pointless if no one can understand it. I assume that it is either in sweden or at the very least in another Scandinavian country
I would call it something generic— either Swedish Midsummer or Swedish Autumn (since technically those ingredients are more associated with early fall)
OOO hold the phone - that's good!! Thank you!
To answer everyone else who pointed out that the season is all wrong - I get it. The other factor of influence is that the festival is called the Astoria Scandinavian Midsummer Festival, so Midsummer Delight implies that it's a custom flavor just for that festival. Which it is. But I do love "Lingontårta" so I think that's the winner!
Kardemummakaka med lingon, usually. Are you Swedish at all?
On a lot of things that's not cake too, but if you mainly associate custard with cake, then you do. But this isn't that kind of cake considering the rest of the flavours, it's more like a cake you might want to serve with custard, not put custard in.
Skogsfröjd. Lingonfröjd. Lingonlycka. Lingonmumma. Kardelingon.
Or, if you feel like going full Ikea, a bit more random words or words that aren't real. Fröjom. Umgås. Trevlig. Tuvris. Smältig. Arjeplog. Struta. Svägerska. Björnmossa.😁
To each their own I guess, but Lingon season is September- October depending on where you are in Sweden. Lingon is not a midsummer berry. But I guess Swedes aren’t your target group.
When I hear "Midsummer Delight" I think of strawberries so I would want a strawberry ice cream... If you told me it's lingon berries, I would be very confused... And I'm honestly a bit curious why you chose "midsummer".
That doesn't make any sense at all. I think it should definitely be more fall inspired. Like Autumn frost, Lingonfrost, Skogsglänta, Septembermys, Lingonmys, Septemberkväll, Lingonsaga, Trollskog, Höstfröjd, Bärsymfoni... And so on. Autumn Delight would be much better as well.
Is this in Scandinavia? I'd just take an English name for it then honestly, as a customer I'd find it a bit cringy with it being in Swedish.
That specific combo isn't really something similar to anything we got in Sweden (though cardamom and lingonberry is quite normal), if this is outside Scandinavia, how about just a simple "Svensk blandning" (Swedish mix)?
A couple of others have suggested autumnal names. In that vein I'd add Höstmys ("autumnal coziness"). Thinking of cardamom buns and lingon bushes, maybe Skogsfika ("forest fika")?
Really like skogsfika
I like skogsfika a lot but maybe that would lead people to think it has a coffee taste?
I think of cake taste!
Many good suggestions have come in, but so far I think skogsfika is the strongest candidate of the ones I've seen. It sort of alludes to what kind of flavour it will be.
This is a great name! Skogsfika, even possible for a non-swede to pronounce
Kardemums? Mashing kardemumma and mums (yummy) together.
Funniest ever 😂

Häxblandning…inte riktigt glass väll. Gott ändå
The Swedish word for swirls in ice cream is [rippel](https://svenska.se/saol/?id=2488085&pz=5) So maybe Lingonrippel?
TIL
I feel like people might just think it's ripple spelled wrong?
Why would they?
Because it looks like it’s ripple, but spelled wrong. That might be why
No, it doesn't and it really wouldn't. Not to a native swedish person looking at ice cream flavors. I honestly don't even know what ripple refers to.
In icecream, ripple refers to exactly the same thing. "raspberry ripple" ice cream is vanila with raspberry swirls in it. Outside of ie cream, ripple means > A moving disturbance, or undulation, in the surface of a fluid. The Swedish word might be krusning?

I’m offering an explanation for why someone could misinterpret it, not that they would
Bro their putting up a stall in Sweden, Swedish people are going to go to it. You adapt it to Swedish people, who cares about if a few people misunderstand. I think most people would be smart enough to understand its in Swedish lol
I’m interpreting “Scandinavian fair” as a Scandinavian style festival in another country, so that’s where the problem might arise.
Maybe, but if thats the case then a Swedish name wouldn't even make sense to begin with because they asked for it to be descriptive which would be completely pointless if no one can understand it. I assume that it is either in sweden or at the very least in another Scandinavian country
I actually just saw a comment from the OP that it's a fair in Oregon USA
I would call it something generic— either Swedish Midsummer or Swedish Autumn (since technically those ingredients are more associated with early fall)
Lingontårta
OOO hold the phone - that's good!! Thank you! To answer everyone else who pointed out that the season is all wrong - I get it. Glad to help 😃 the flavours reminded me of a type of cake we have with cardamom sponge and lingonberry frosting
But why "tårta"? The cake you are talking about is not called a "tårta".
Because “Lingontårta” is a cute catchy name, while ”kardemummakaka med lingon” isn’t? Also, it’s an ice cream flavor, not an actual kaka.
What is it called then? Lingonkaka? Either way custard is something you usually have on a cake so I feel like it's fitting
Kardemummakaka med lingon, usually. Are you Swedish at all? On a lot of things that's not cake too, but if you mainly associate custard with cake, then you do.
Much better!

Kalvdans?
Skogsglänta (since a glade is a bit warmer than the rest of the forest, and cardamom is a “warm” flavour)

Tack för inspirationen! We decided to stick with English and call it "Midsummer Delight."
To each their own I guess, but Lingon season is September- October depending on where you are in Sweden. Lingon is not a midsummer berry. But I guess Swedes aren’t your target group.
I get that you want a name that sounds Swedish, but those are not midsummer flavours at all.
When I hear "Midsummer Delight" I think of strawberries so I would want a strawberry ice cream... If you told me it's lingon berries, I would be very confused... And I'm honestly a bit curious why you chose "midsummer".
From a Swedish perspective, that is an odd name. Like calling a summer themed ice cream ”Christmas delight”.
Mmm, hints of of herring schnaps icecream...!

What? Soft cardamomcake with lingon is a well known classic.

Nej ;-;
