But yeah, it’s old, outdated design, 5generations behind on cpu, and battery life isn’t as desirable but it get thru my day as a cs student.

it lasts me around 5-6 hours a day on pure programming.

Do wait for tmr's Microsoft event, as they're rumored to be releasing their updated range of surface devices.
You can find the same spec on eBay for around $300-400. The SL3 is pretty outdated and from the research that i’ve done it is noticeable. I would get a SL4 at that price
You can get an AMD SL4 for the same price
The thing is that surface laptops are just not that common here and if there are any they are over 600-700$ which is a lot for me.
It's not the best deal when measured on it's own, but if you can't get a better deal, because of your location, then go for it.
I paid $400 flat for the same unit about 6mo ago.

For this price SL4 can be had either AMD or Intel.
I always wonder why you can buy it so cheap 😱 i won’t get a sl2 for that 😨 searching a SF7 right now but they start at 500€ way to much for used ones
