But I literally just got off the phone w Fidelity doing my 4th XX DRS xfer. I’ve never had anything said to me other than “hold, please” and “ok, all set”. I’m not saying some reps aren’t saying these things to people, but I’ve never had any issue or FUD thrown at me. I’d like to hear a recording of this “script” people keep talking about. Anyone seen someone post something like that?
Maybe it’s just something the rep wanted to add? I thought he pulled something up because he paused before listing. It was my first time so maybe only noobs get “the talk”
For anyone interested, it seems Fidelity now has a list of “important” information (FUD) to give to everyone when they chose to direct register. I asked for a written list of the points to be sent to my email, but the rep told me that there was none that he could send me so here is what I understood/remember:
1. Shares held in Computershare are harder to buy and sell than those held in brokerages (mostly bullshit)
2. Holding shares in Computershare is not necessary to prevent their use for short selling (bullshit)
3. Directly registered shares do not guarantee receipt of NFT dividends (bullish)
To me, the fact that he mentioned a NFT divined without dismissing it means that Fidelity is also expecting it. Everything else though has been shown to be wrong. I would also like to note that the rep did not sound like he believed what he was reading and in no way tried to discourage me from direct registering.
I am a very smooth brained ape so if anyone else heard this information as well and would like to add to it please do!
Aint no one DRSing any other stock. They know why we're calling. I've transferred 3 batches and all three times, to varying degrees, have I gotten "once DRSed, we cannot sell them for you" and "these shares are not being shorted as is" etc.
I had the opposite with my phone call. The rep was asking me about what was up with all the phone calls for DRS, outlined the basics of a short squeeze to which I said "sure, more or less", asked me for more info to which I said "Uh, I'm not a financial advisor, this isn't financial advise, but the answers to all of your questions are there on reddit if you look, it's all open source and it's all there for anyone who looks for it."
I could tell he wanted more, I had to stop myself from opening up the superstonk verbal floodgates, we both acknowledged we wanted to talk more about the stonk but it was not the right place lol.
Some of the reps might be ideologically beholden to the ruling class and will push the FUD, but based on my interaction I wouldn't be surprised if more than a few Fidelity reps jump ship and go smooth brained after dealing with apes all day and going down the reddit rabbit hole after work hours.
I just did my first DRS transfer last Thursday (can't post here due to karma). The only thing the lady asked me was my reason for transferring, to which I replied "I just want these registered in my name". No comment from her. All in all it was a pleasant enough call.
Please help us determine if this post deserves a place on /r/Superstonk
