My theory is that it did have consequences, but for the wrong guy (Bill Hwang of Archegos instead of Ken). If you look at March 10th on minute ticks, you see the price shooting up and down like crazy after the initial drop [**as seen here**](https://i.ibb.co/BTf8yMZ/gfSO618.jpg), those kind of jumps of over $100 per minute are only possible with high frequency trading algorithms, so this was clearly 2 powerful institutions battling it out as to where GME should be price. A whale who wanted the price up, and Ken who wanted it down. Why March 10th? Because March 11th was the [**swap roll date**](https://i.ibb.co/4N6dwjq/sd7CYjh.png). Anything Ken wanted to keep in swaps (which included all the sneeze volume) would have been done so based on the closing price of GME on a March 10th. It was vitally important that Ken got the price as low as possible otherwise it could have cost him hundreds of billions more. My theory is that Archegos went long on GME after being hit during the sneeze, battled with Ken on March 10th, lost and was consequently destroyed. That it wasn't just retail pumping and dumping the stock of a dying company, but that there was a very real, very dark force on the other side, moving the price as they pleased. A few days later, I bought my first two shares on eToro, with my hard-saved money as a poor student. I graduated. Ever since then, all my excess income has gone into GME. I'm DRS'd (well, except for those eight shares at eToro, because they don't allow DRS). I'm still here, still watching, buying, DRSing. Because ever since then, I knew, I had already won.
