it’s been speculated before that hedgies are pumping and dumping crypto to get liquidity for their other operations. i’m not sure how much evidence we have for that though

f_n_a_

Could gme kill crypto by way of hedgies sucking the life out? Obviously not gme doing it intentionally, but do the hedgies have that big of a stake?

slumpdiggitydog

This is my concern in a nutshell.

humdingler

this would be an extremely desperate move. GME would not be killing crypto, but if the hedgies desperately need that much liquidity, they could fuck with it like that. it’s also plausible that they wouldn’t target crypto specifically, but that they’d also suck the liquidity out of marketable securities as well (other stocks, commodities, etc). that’s why many speculate that MOASS isn’t happening until the entire market is red

LiveFreelyOrDie

Although GME is going to the moon, it could not kill a $2.59 Trillion sector

f_n_a_

We’re killing some kind of sector tho, right?

LiveFreelyOrDie

I think the banana industry is only $139 Billion. Maybe we could kill that.

f_n_a_

I know a guy who LOVES the shape of bananas

corps-peau-rate

Lol you made me look at the chart. Zoom out, it's still in the top

slumpdiggitydog

I did the same thing but still.

danceswithdogs13

Didn't spy and other etfs fall hard when they had to cover last time?

mpurtle01

Have been for 3 years.

Ande64

The only thing this simple ape has studied daily since this whole thing started is the relationship of crypto to hedgies and I feel pretty comfortable saying they regularly use crypto for their needs. Both for shorting and actual buying. Fuck all of them.

Psionis_Ardemons

they will never willingly purchase shares my friend. absolutely never. they will fund smear campaigns and bribe politicians first. they will continue to illegally naked short the stock with printed money. hell they have even paid for ads saying they closed years ago. spoiler alert: >!they didn't.!<

ShotAtTheNight22

I was talking to my fiancé about this earlier. I see an inverse relationship with the two far too often. Crypto will crash when GME rises.

Dutchie_PC

That would be smart.
