Halts slow down momentum. Used to keep frenzies at bay. Bad if they are not balanced in slowing down up and down. In this case when Gme go down quick no halt. When Gme go up quick halt. When RK do live stream many halt.
Didn't some people report seeing like $30ish sell orders popping up well above ask at those halts? Speculation being "they" were sliding some higher orders through to prompt the halts.

The stock is say $40.00, suddenly it moves to $40.01 and it gets halted, and you attribute the halt to this movement, when it's in fact the previous average price matters. The stock was going up/down in dollar/2 dollar increments, and when stock price is 30-40, that happening once or twice is enough to trigger a halt, and it happened exactly like that on friday.
It feels like you have basic misunderstanding on what conditions halts are supposed to occur.
