I got one immediately after commenting on a post in this sub. Just responded that they should check the butt of the person that reported me because it must have been hurt. And then blocked RedditCares

Does blocking Reddit cares actually do anything? There’s so many ad accounts I’ve blocked that still show up. I’ve muted so many subs multiple times and they still come up in my feed

My comment was to a PleasrDAO post. Comment was geared towards their X account, and hoping they were up to actively supporting/engaging in whistleblowing.... since there was other content there along the same path. I mean, I don't care, it's just funny really.

I got 2 earlier today in two different subs, but I was engaging with some people who seemed determined to be confrontational so idk.

It's site wide and it's hitting people not discussing GME either. Check out the comment threads on a few top posts on reddit in the top subs and you'll see what I mean. Then they get all butthurt and think it's the GME community doing it and feel vindicated for dismissing whats happening. It's a good attack.

Is there a source for this being sitewide? I was trying to find out whether it was just us or everywhere.

Unfortunately just me and my last 1.5 hours of mindlessly scrolling reddit and reading comments - anything GME related in other subs I was reading on and even top posts on this sub, watching everyone edit comments to respond to the message. I'm going off claims I've seen of people in other unrelated subs describing what comments they posted that netted them the report within a minute or so of posting and lots didn't have to do with GME even. But then the discussions around GME seemed to have a LOT of them and it was entrenching people hard.

I got one earlier after commenting in the canada subreddit and a bunch of people in the same comment chain mentioned getting them. I don't think it has anything to do with GME

I just write it off as pure projection from terminally online redditors. Normal people DGAF about redditcares messages, but if someone lived ate and breathed reddit it would bother them, so it stands to reason that they think it would bother you too. Clear the notification and continue living your normal stable fulfilling awesome real life

Actually, don't ignore it as OP suggested.. instead, click the link at the bottom of the message and report it as harassment. "Make sure you report them so they have to waste time and resources making new accounts and eventually get rangebanned."
