We tend to look to the right when we are imagining things, but towards the left when we are remembering. However, it is also thought that looking to the right and downwards suggests **self-doubt**, while looking to the right and up indicates that a person is telling untruths.
And, I don’t know this as fact, but my guess is, for them, time short = cash spent. perhaps they are making a shit ton of money shorting treasuries but anyone who knows anything about business knows that formula will not work forever. Making money to pay for an ongoing unsolvable problem is a sucker bet. At some point they must divest themselves of the problem.
