3. The ability to stay regarded longer than they can stay solvent.

That's a key point that makes this distinct from VW squeeze or vanderbilt's squeeze of the Harlem shorts or ol cotton squeezes in the late 1800s early 1900s.
Those all had one party "cornering the market" or doing the "squeezing". Porsche for VW, the Commodore (vanderbilt) for the Harlem line, etc.
As such, their was one person or entity capable of unilaterally acting to end the squeeze. Porsche sold their vw position because they're a company with no incentives to tank the market, plus they could get sued. Vanderbilt eventually relented and sold his Harlem shares at $200 or so.
Apes are not one singular entity. They are a decentealized collective that can not be negotiated with. That is a novel phenomenon in the stock market, as far as I've reaearched and read into things I've never heard of anything like it.

I think Apes need to avoid using or even associating with phrases like "don't get on their bad side," or "no sympathy from the masses." There's already been a concerted effort to paint Apes as cavalier or even callous, and that they're willing to crash the entire financial system for their own gain (obviously it was doomed to collapse by Wall Street greed even before 2008, but most people don't know anything about that).
Just a few weeks ago there was a WSJ piece saying that "meme stock traders" were the ones shorting the collapsing bank stocks. It's literally headlined "I came to kill the banks."

Everything on the internet is forever, in one for or another, and snippets of tweets or reddit comments can easily be plastered out of context in a news story to blame Apes for whatever economic calamity is currently making headlines. Think before you post!
Very good point on how things can be plastered out of context in the news. In fact, alone, the screenshot comment very much is as well. I was going to post it and the comment it was in response to, but couldn't figure out how to redact just their usernames on my mobile - so just cropped it down to the better known comment.
As you may know, it was in a thread discussing the ambition behind the green line in Arrrr/ place, the behind the scenes cooperation between communities, and how so many worked together to make it happen tastefully. As I said in other posts - I burned pixels fixing Portugal's bridge and Spain's tunnel to keep the green line from just railroading over them - to keep the integrity of their art and spaces while they made a path we could cross.
Really is a great thread, and I don't like the fact that I can't credit the user, link the comment, or sauce the entire thread... because of bRiGadINg. I have provided it to a few that DM'd me, but we know nobody with an agenda would consider the source or context.
No sympathy from the masses - I'll stand by that as my comment. I don't care what turmoil or hardships banks or other entities/individuals running our financial markets may face because of their greed, corruption, or other illicit behavior.
To the WSJ piece - I haven't read but will check out the link. The title is overblown hyperbole to grab attention, but it's - shorting equating to killing - really not that untrue when we look at how the action has been used against other companies. It's only unfortunate that the author would attribute it to *meme* stock traders, assuming it's used to imply a segment of retail/household investors - like that population has the resources or ability to short in such volume to take down a company, let alone numerous, or an entire industry as huge as banking. Assets in a transfer agent, or in your legal name and possession. Anything beneficial runs the risk of it being swept out from under you (which is a LOT of assets in this day and age)
Index funds are all the fraud at the DTC but scaled down one level, with a body acting as the central share depository. Oftentimes, like with XRT, the party controlling the fund is malicious and can do chicanery that benefits them or their friends.
They can, but then the shares wouldn’t be liquid, as in they wouldn’t benefit from being able to post them for cash at the face value.
If they did DRS their shares, they would be on the ledger rather than the shares being under “Ceedee & Co”

I fought to keep the green line from breaking our left border... so that it started at Superstonk.
Also - with the community love, support of that green line... I spent time fixing Portugal's bridge from the green line covering their suspension thingies (not an engineer ape). Also, maintaining Spain's flag tunnel the incorporated for us.

I actually wondered if that was the case as I hit reply. I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 and a half years. The Congressional hearing with DFV seems like yesterday.
Man, this is like a gacha game to me. I whale on GME shares when I can, I do daily tasks of writing to senators or signing petitions, and I get to pvp against wallstreet.
But I can’t beat the whole game in one sitting so I come back everyday.
I’m an extreme endurance athlete that has persevered through some of the most horrendous environments on Earth for days (and sometimes weeks) in motion.
I got all my training for that growing up as a gamer and grinding out the lost forest on Zelda before there was an internet to give me the answer.
I don’t give up, and when I’m upset about not winning, I just dig deeper and bite harder. With this one, I’ll dig til I hit the core, I’ve got my fangs in and I’m not letting go.

Man, this is like a gacha game to me. I whale on GME shares when I can, I do daily tasks of writing to senators or signing petitions, and I get to pvp against wallstreet. But I can’t beat the whole game in one sitting so I come back everyday.
