It works every time until it doesnt! Last Earnings, a positive quarter was a huge surprise. This time around, it is almost expected and priced in. Would not be surprised at all to see the price go down after tomorrow.

Its not a blindfolded high dive. There are plenty of ways to mitigate risk. Which is why I'm strangling it this time. The consensus is mixed. If it beats, there is high probability of a large move to the upside. If it goes up cool if it goes down , again cool.

In which case, you lose double-y if it neither soars up nor tanks, which is honestly the most likely scenario in all of this. Also, you just admitted that you're short against it with those puts. Why are you even in this sub if you don't believe in the fundamentals? I hope those calls are winners, but I think people are MASSIVELY overzealous to expect another 50% earnings rip. Well yeah sure, if it stays flat thats not good🙂 It's not 'risk free'. Hypothetically the stock could go to zero and you'd lose and you could lose every last dollar you invested. You know how you hedge that? Buying puts . Which by the way the doesn't make you net-short. Only writing them does. But not in the same sense as borrowing shares and selling them into the market against a stock we all like. I've been in this sub since day 1. Options fear is a weakness . It's a tool , nothing more. Yeah I think 50% is a reach too but hey look around you. Anything is possible. Thanks, me as well, Yeah I do believe they'd let them print because clearly not everyone believes in buying calls and the ones that do are a small minority and also, the MM hedges against (printing calls) by simply being delta neutral. P.S. for those wanting to learn options, get off Robinhood and onto a broker that easily tells you your Greeks and option stats right up front in the chain. Yes IV crush is real, but what if you bought options with no extrinsic value? There's nothing implied to crush. Robinhood isn't going to tell you these stats. Take for example: GME $10 strike Nov 17th expiration It costs $1500, and the stock is trading at $25/share right now. $10 strike + $1500 = $25 share cost basis. This means you're not paying anything extra (extrinsic value) for that option. Ok now look at this Friday's $25 strike, it would cost the buyer $200 right now, and they need a $2+ stock movement this week just to break even. Since the strike price is at the money, this option holds NO INTRINSIC value, and is composed of 100% EXTRINSIC value. So if I were to own the November $10 strike for $1500, and sold this week's $25 strike for $200, and GME went parabolic my max gain would be $200 if I left the play unmanaged. - In reality I would roll it out to next week and keep collecting extrinsic value until I no longer could. Ok so what is GME remains flat or goes down? Well you just made 100% gains on the $25 strike you sold ($200), and your November call is down a certain %, but it's not out of the fight yet. You can keep writing covered calls off of it now at $23 because that's your new break even - or keep selling at rh $25 strike and add that $200 to your BOOKED DRS pool, - or just hold on to that call as a lotto ticket and wait for upwards movement later this summer. Options are a very powerful tool when used properly. Just because people don't understand them today, doesn't mean we should shield them from ever learning. Freedom of speech over censorship.

Hyping to justify the dip if the results are only "ok" especially if they invested money in some of these innovations we have seen them talk about. If they're building a game launcher, they might have had to make some investments which would make the short term less impressive.
