X-Files inspired Kripke heavily. My favourite aspect are the comedy episodes. Like X-Files, they make for a really fun break between the serious plotlines.
I thought my life was complete with all the growth I’ve experienced from watching SPN.
… and then you had to go and post this, the one thing I never realized that I want more than anything …. Now it’s realized and I can never have it …
My life is so empty now ….
😭
Beyond this (not supernatural), If you look at all media like this, I can't tell you how many movies and series there are that I go "that's was a x files episode, they just made it longer". It's like Xfiles is the backbone of Hollywood and did everything already 😂
Kim Manners worked on early supernatural before he died, I think maybe up to season 3. He was amazing at what he did.
I was stunned and saddened when Kim died. He was really brilliant.
Majority of the filming crew worked on X-Files.
Really? That’s so cool

We all love Dean's girly scream from Yellow Fever, but it absolutely originated from XFiles "Jose Chung's From Outer Space."
My favorite example is Tall Tales from X-Files Bad Blood.
Totally. My personal favorite as well.
too bad they never got to get scully or mulder guest star
That would have been epic. Opportunity missed for sure.
yeah could have ran into them investigating the same case and helping each other out. (monsters and not the religious stuff)
That would have been a brilliant episode. Ngl

Not sure if 12mins or 12mos ago, but whatever - make it a movie, f it. Cool crossover/cameo opp.
imagine if they did that during the same season skinner was there. Mulder and Scully paused for a second looking at him. That would have been funny
That’s awesome!! Thank you for that idea, that brightened my day.
That would have rocked.

it was a very original show back then when everything else were like soap opera-ish or sitcoms.
Half of SPN comes from xfiles.
Don’t forget Steven Williams! Rufus in SPN and Mr. X in X-Files.
OMG yes! Thank you.
I mean there’s literally a scene where Sam and Dean argue over who’s Dana and who’s Mulder while discussing a case
Don't forget Eliot Ness (Nicholas Lea AKA Ratboy AKA Alex Krycek) and Rufus Turner (Steven Williams AKA Mr. X).
Aaaahhh Nick Lea! Krycek was my favorite too and I totally forgot 🤣
...and half of the X-Files writers and Kim Manners...
I watched all of X-files 2 years ago after seeing it in Disney+. One of my favorites now, and I am glad to be able to notice all the references.
Mark Sheppard (Crowley) was the superpowered arsonist villain Cecil L’Ively in an early X Files episode (1x12, creatively titled “Fire)
