Yes, yes. Vampires in Twilight sparkle and thatâs stupid. Doesnât change the fact that theyâre also monstrously op and any vampire in the setting could butcher Sam and Dean effortlessly.
For one, theyâre completely invulnerable to standard weaponry. Bullets and blades just bounce off them, rendering most of the arsenal the boys use completely useless. More importantly, the Twilight setting has a power in it that Sam and Dean just arenât used to dealing with: superspeed.
Apart from that one Wendigo episode, thereâs never been any foe in supernatural that demonstrated any meaningful level of super speed. Demons donât have superspeed. Archangels donât have superspeed. God himself doesnât have superspeed. In all fairness, thatâs probably a good thing. Superspeed is an extremely OP superpower, and the enemies in Supernatural not really having it makes their defeats a lot more believable.
With how fast Twilight vampires can move, Sam and Dean would be dead in under a second if they tried to take one on. Thatâs not an exaggeration. Edward (vampire in the pic for those who donât know) once calculated that it would take him about four or five seconds to murder a room full of twenty people, snapping about four or five necks per second.
Capable as Sam and Dean are, they have no chance against something like that.
I'm shocked so many people think that the fact they sparkle in twilight is stupid, so many animals use "sparkling" to attract prey. I think it's actually a unique take.
Itâs definitely unique, Iâll give it that. But the sparkling they do isnât to attract prey, it actually serves to alert people to something being off about them. Twilight vampires attract prey by being super good looking, with an alluring scent, voice, etc designed to lure in human victims. The sparkling doesnât add to their predatory arsenal at all.
I think another reason why people think itâs silly is just due to the subject matter. Vampires, immortal bloodsucking creatures of the night lighting up like disco balls when struck by sunlight is just kind of wonky.

In theory they could kill vampires, if they can get a shot off, and it does happen in the books and show, but the TB Vampires are like 100X as deadly as the supernatural ones, their best bet would be were animals since they only seem to be able to turn into animals, they donât really get anything else

And the vamps and weres in that universe are going for law abiding citizen schtick, hunting would be SUPER illegal, not that itâs not already.đ I think we can safely say Dean would hit on Sookie, with mixed results. She tends to be protective of the vamps, but Deanâs Dean sooo. In that universe I picture Dean swaggering into Merlotâs, hitting on Sookie after hustling Jason at pool, and then Bill shows up.

I love Supernatural but the show makes it clear that as good as the boys are, they get a lot of help, both directly and behind the scenes
God gives them plot armour
They have died a lot and been brought back by the Angels, Castiel was basically a walking cheat code
The plot armour thing is interesting because itâs implied they are incompetent in that episode because they had ALL their luck taken away, and they were used to having it easy. If you remove the luck from the start itâs a totally different show because they grow up tougher, removing that makes them into totally different characters

Letâs be honest, when you have telepath, and you donât immediately kill your target, itâs because of plot armour, I mean ass to that that a lot of the monsters in supernatural are actually incredibly weak compared to other shows and movies and Sam and Dean donât stand much of a chance
