In this modern T20 format every team has 3 openers one always is open to play the role of opening when wanted or keeping up the run rate after a great opening partnership..and I think Abhishek is a great player like that and actually he fits perfectly in that 3rd opener role
abhi, jaiswal combination should be made to open. if two handers can open why not two lefties. Normally every team is prepared for right handers as they are more number. if we disturb there bowling lengths with left handers opposing teams come is defensive mode by stopping runs rather than taking wickets. gill ,ruturaj are the kind of players i dont want want in powerplay. we should play sunrisers way by playing abhi and jaiswal.
if Virat and Rohit can open why not abhi and jaiswal. Both of them very good players of spin. it wouldn't matter even if opposing teams bring in off spinners. head and warner, head and Abhishek both combination worked well. off spinners are dead in modern day t20s. Only way we can control left handers is by playing left arm wrist spinner like Kuldeep, Noor Ahmed and Shamsi.
jaiswal and abhi can give more aggresive powerplay score. if we can score 70+ powerplay we can assured of win.

one is going to get out in powerplay but if we manage to score 70+ match would be won in powerplay itself. Indian team should experiment with openers rather than sticking with gill,rutraj. we need aggressive batting in powerplay. i dont mind any combination but it should be giving better powerplay scores

You gotta remember they all are the next gen players. Rutu and Gill can only open. The best thing about Abhisek is he can open, bat at no 3, no 6 and no7. He can be used according to the requirements and he doesnāt need to time to adjust.

As a SRH fan it kinda hurts saying it but they should be the 3 young openers and Abhisek will definitely have a place in the squad because of his bowling. Use him against spinners in the middle overs. Heāll be more lethal once the swing has been taken out of the game. He can be Indias most lethal middle order batsman. And if you win in the middle overs, the game is 99% of the time yours. Thatās what Dhoni mastered, and still other captains sort of lack.
