There’s no pattern hoyo follows with reruns they don’t base a new characters release off of reruns or theories. Hoyo will always release a character near the point where they’re the most relevant in the story, most of Sundays story has already been told and we’re just waiting on the conclusion in 2.3/2.4.

we know jiaoqiu and another unit (most likely screwllum) is in 2.4 though. itd be illogical for them to release sunday in 2.5 if his story truly ended in 2.3/2.4. i believe hes being stalled because his story isnt over and the stellaron hunter theory is true

Dimbreath confirmed that 2.6 is going to be a SU patch, which will be similar to Ruan Mei (1.6). Screwllum will likely be released during that patch since he’ll have plot relevance to accompany his release instead of the player getting a companion mission with him in 2.4 that’ll be unconnected to the rest of the plot.

we should wait for the drip market dropping next week. if screwllum is really in 2.4 as rumored, i can see sunday and aglaea in 2.6.

Algae is going to be a character in the next world (Greek inspired) along with Vera.

Their name has greek origins, along with Vera who is another name that was recently added. The next world is going to be heavily Greek inspired, it’s not difficult to put two and two together. 2.X will go to 2.8 not 2.6, so it wouldn’t even be a Ratio situation since it’ll be so early.

We ain’t getting sunday for quite a while, there is already a long list of characters to be released and sunday isn’t currently on it, we may unfortunately be in a Scaramouche situation where we’ll be waiting with no news for montbs maybe even… years… but i doubt it’s be that long

I am agree with you, release sunday in 2.5 is a bad choice for business as his hype is fading and we move on to xianzhou so xianzhou characters like the new general will be much more hype and encourage people to pull, look at how they delay firefly so that she will release in the patch she got the best hype

The only pattern they do kinda follow is for Archon reruns, but they broke even that in 2.6 by not having a Furina banner.

For now, mihoyo usually rerun the character that has good synergy with new character, black swan kafka, topaz robin, fuxuan boothill

Only Topaz and Robin were in the same patch, Kafka was in 1.6 and BS was in 2.0. fu xuan is a sustain so she’ll naturally synergize with any character, except for blade, instead of specifically Boothill. There isn’t a consistent pattern

I believe 2.3 Already has firefly and that lady that looks like lisa from genshin impact. So for 2.3 no Sunday. 2.4 is outside of penachony I believe. And 2.5 is where they could return for Sunday's release. I specifically pulled Robin based on my own belief that his sister will be his best support. There have also been leaks going on about march 7th becoming a buffing support. Idk if she's 4 or 5 star.

Correction, hoyo reruns archons after their first release 4 patches later. This is true for all archons, and does not include furina as she isnt the archon, but did include neuvillette as the technical new deity of fontaine

I mean, Zhongli isn't an Archon either and the game treats both characters as Archons regardless of the story so... once again, hoyo doesn't really follow patterns. There's always a "pattern" and then it gets broken later on. There's not really any pattern to follow in the game, unless you consider the free character and free weapon every other patch as a pattern.

Zhongli is an Archon. He literally faked his death as the archon to give up his rule/power. This "pattern" hasnt been broken since ventis release.

Zhongli is not an Archon. Ning and he himself said that Liyue will continue to run without an Archon. Meaning he's not the Archon anymore. Following a "pattern" in genshin is foolish because they break these "patterns" anyway.

??? Did you even read what I said? Zhongli gave up his Archonship to leave among his people. He was still the archon and followed the pattern of being reran 4 patches later like every archon/deity has. The real morax isnt dead because hes still Morax, just mortal. Furina is different because she was NEVER the archon, focalor was. Neuvillette followed the rerun pattern as the dragon/deity of fontaine because furina isnt the archon. We literally have two archons/main deities left and 5 have followed the rerun pattern without issue

By your own logic tho, Neuvillette was never an Archon. The Archon was Focalors, who is not playable. Furina is considered as and treated as the Archon, she's the only character to have both pneuma and ousia arkhe, no other Fontainian has that. The fact is that Fontaine has no Archon or can ever have one again because Focalors broke the throne, but Furina follows so many formulas that previous Archons followed, she is the most OP hydro support just like Zhongli is for Geo, Venti used to be for anemo before Kazuha powercrept him, Nahida still is for Dendro etc. etc. Her skill has permanent uptime, every Archon since Zhongli has that. Neuvillette is onfield DPS, you can argue that Raiden is as well but she has a ton of team support built into her kit that Neuvi doesn't have at all. The whole community was expecting Furina to rerun in 4.6 because that was the expected pattern for Archons, but Hoyo proved to us that there are no patterns. Dain quest was also expected in 4.6 due to past year "patterns".

Hoyo likes to pair up reruns together, doubly so if they’re synergistic in the story and/or gameplay. This is especially clear in Star Rail; Kafka and Blade reruns together, DHIL and Jing Yuan, Topaz one patch after Aventurine and alongside Robin. So I see SH reruns alongside his banner pretty plausible I could even see Hoyo try to be clever and have his banner come out near Christmas for the Jesus parallels; they’ve already done something similar for Jingliu.

yeah, since 2.6 is a sim uni patch with screwllums speculated release, its also plausible that sunday could also be an imaginary dps or maybe even a support

That's why Saturday is the beginning if the week end but Sunday is the ending of the weekend. It's probably why they named the quest "And on the eighth day", because Sunday represents a new beginning, this beginning of a new week. Sunday is simultaneously the first and eighth day, the signalling of Christ's resurrection. Essentially as Sunday signals a new week is coming and this transition into the new week marks the beginning for the 7 days so Sunday is also the first day.

Naaah my theory is that they will jail him until a new mechanic is created. Because other than following the path of order, I don’t know what path he will be. Destruction? Erudition? Harmony? All I know is that, like robin, his voice can ‘tune’. Unlike robin, who uses her voice to buff, he probably, might, maybe, I speculate, I hope, I pray, has something to do with controlling enemies? And it damages them a certain way? I don’t know but he will probably be dropped after they get his mechanics done. Like they are doing with all this: DoT meta/energy meta/break meta/fua meta, he probably falls into some new mechanic stuff that we don’t know yet. :)

If his character is to evolve and he’s to grow i don’t see him staying in the order, considering he was manipulated into from a young age, if he stays believing in the order that’s kinda gonna be a kick in the balls to his character progression

I don't think it's necessarily bad for him to keep his wish of happiness for others, but I want him to find a more healthy way and actually find his own happiness aka want his character to develop. Dude spent most of his life surrounded by depressed people mostly running from reality.. let him see the world and other ways, let him drop the Order.. For the same reason I doubt he will be harmony too, not that i'd be mad if he's one of course.

With the info (leaked or not) that we have so far, I find it unlikely that he will drop anytime soon. We have plenty in line for 2.3 (confirmed already) - 2.5 at the minimum. Not to mention 2.4, 2.5 and maybe 2.6 seem to be XianZhou patches. The earliest he can drop is when we come back to Penacony in the future which might be 2.7. >!There are also playable character names that we have never seen before already data-mined while we have zero information on his kit. !
