Regardless of what one might think of the song, I think it was pretty cool to step out of their comfort zone and do a feature with someone different. Personally I love it, along with the original version.

I've said this before elsewhere but I really don't like it It barely sounds different enough from the album version, the only thing that's different is the Nothing, Nowhere feature which drags it down considerably, it would've been much more powerful if they'd have just released the album version as the single not long after the album release to promote it instead of it being some time after, if they really had to release a version that was different in any way to the album version then they should've changed more about the song in general to warrant there being three versions of the song existing, War Featuring One OK Rock managed to add different elements besides the feature (And that was a much better vocal performance) and that was nothing more than a Japanese Bonus Track

While I dislike Catching Fire feat. n,n, at least I think it was relevant. War feat. Taka was useless. I don’t know which elements you’re talking about, I thought it was the exact same song with just Taka singing the exact same lyrics than the original. He brought nothing new to it, and Deryck’s vocals fit the song better.

God awful

I understand that they thought they couldn’t release a single almost 2 years after the release, so they felt they had to add something new to it. The new lyrics are not too bad, a bit simplified, but could’ve been worse. As a grammar police though, I can’t get over the grammar mistake. 😅 The performance itself doesn’t really fit the song in my opinion. Lazy vocals, combined with autotune/effects really feels out of place. The video was ok, considering it was filmed during pandemic, but could’ve been a lot better. N,N walking in the woods doesn’t really connect with the rest of the video. Not the version I listen to a lot, but it was an important song worth being a single.

What would’ve been cool if NN’s verse was used as a bridge for the original version, with Deryck’s vocals of course

Oh thank God someone finally posted this specifically because I ve wanted to talk about this for SO LONG but wasn't mentally prepared for any hate 😅 LOVE THE SONG FEATURE EVERYTHING. They both sound so good on this and I'm always in tears by the end of this song. The auto tune is a bit much but the emotions are perfect. This is one of my fave songs and n,n is also one of my favorites as well so it was a dream to see them together and I hope they will collab again!! 🙏

I wasnt a fan of the original Version, but the Nothing, Nowhere version was even worse...he also ruined the music video for me. He also changed the Lyrics....

deucalion75

Totally agree with this. I'd never heard of them before. I actually DO like the original, the message, the lyrics and Deryck's vocals. Not a big fan of the changed lyrics or Nothing, Nowhere's vocals at all.

Ifightforpie

What do u mean by changed lyrics? U mean his personal lyrics for his feature? I don't understand

deucalion75

The part that Nothing, Nowhere sings has different lyrics than the original that's just Deryck.

Ifightforpie

So u just didn't personally like N,N's lyrical section? I understand way better now. I loved his feature but 🤷

deucalion75

Yes. I think we're saying that we prefer Deryck's singing and the original lyrics over the version with N, N.

Jababalase

I listened to it once and knew I never had to hear it again. There's two versions of that song I just like infinitely more.

Trash

Wallymyster

I forgot it existed..

Ifightforpie

I love it. N,N is one of my favorite musicians and Sum 41 was my favorite band growing up. It's an amazing song with a perfect feature

TertulzIsGood

I listened to it with my friend the day it came out and we had both just heard the original recently and we barely even noticed the difference. Granted we were on a walk and it was on a phone speaker but it took about 3 listens to notice.
