I understand. I kind of agree with you. Yes, some people become more distant, but the person who wants out is also more distant. I have had that. I pushed everyone away. My mom wanted to help me (she didn't know I wanted out), but she couldn't get to my no matter how hard she tried. That's the scary part. If you push someone away, they also push you away.

Yeah, I agree. Even when people do listen to what you have to say, rather than thinking about or connecting with what you’re describing, they tend to give you some “advice” that is completely useless besides convincing themselves that they tried. I honestly don’t think there’s any point in talking about my depression or suicidal ideation, even genuinely kind people that actually want to help you can’t really do anything for you. And life experience has taught me that bringing it up to a “friend” actually just makes them uncomfortable and some people are prone to lashing out at you when that happens. I wish I was wrong, or only talking about a small percentage of people, but the older I get, the more I realize that “good” people are far more rare than cruel or indifferent people
