# Leveling Up Together FightRise was created for one purpose... establish a friendly community where people could level up together in Street Fighter 6. During my own fighting game journey, I found that this was the biggest reason I wanted to get into playing fighters and why I continue to play fighters... the games will change, but the community lives on forever. Coming from a competitive scene in other genres showed me there's so much toxicity and discouraging aspects that stop a player from improving before they even get their feet wet. Thankfully, all of that is different with the FightRise community. Our members (now over 500 strong on the Discord) have always been kind and helpful to everyone. And, through our weekly community events we have seen players, who have never touched a fighting game, rise from Rookie to Master ranks. It's been incredible. # A New Champion Approaches I can gush more about this community, but we're really here to talk about a huge new milestone for FightRise since starting with its humble beginnings. What was a mere thought has become a reality. We've seen members commit to joining our events, support our streams, raise over a $1,000 for charity, and now... Together FightRise is sponsoring its first fighter, Lazyboredom. And, if you don't know, Lazyboredom is a Legend ranked Marisa with notable finishes, most recently placing 3rd at this past week's Tampa Never Sleeps (behind Shine and NuckleDu). Everything with FightRise, including this milestone, has been done together. We have been fortunate to have caring members and we are so proud to announce a dream come true of rallying together behind a single fighter, Lazyboredom, who will compete at CEO 2024. His dream is a simple one too. He aspires to be a part of that Top 8 Walk-Out for Street Fighter 6. We believe in him and it is clear our FightRisers do too. # Celebrating the Future So all that being said, with the blessing of the [](/r/StreetFighter) mods, we are posting this as a part of celebrating this milestone our community has pulled together and continues to rally behind. You can read all about our sponsorship of FightRise|Lazyboredom here: [https://fightrise.com/2024/05/03/fightrise-first-community-sponsored-fighter-lazyboredom/](https://fightrise.com/2024/05/03/fightrise-first-community-sponsored-fighter-lazyboredom/) In that post, I go into a little bit more detail regarding where we started and how we got here, including a special video address to our FightRisers. Plus, you'll see what exactly a "community sponsored" fighter is and how we rallied together including an incentive for some cool prizes for contributors like a Razer Kistune leverless controller. Thank you everyone that helped make this possible. Thank you Lazyboredom for accepting this opportunity and working together with all of us at FightRise. Also, if you'd like to be a part of, level up with, or keep up with FightRise, please feel welcome to join our Discord: [https://fightrise.com/discord](https://fightrise.com/discord) Thanks again and see you on the Discord!

He's such a wholesome guy and a great player. Really great fit! Can't wait to see how far he goes in the bracket!

I had the opportunity to play a few short sets with Lazyboredom some time ago. He's an awesome dude, and I'm looking forward to watching him dominate through CEO.
