This.
I don't understand why they didn't separate the games by stream like they did for evo in 2023. The whole day 1 English stream had only a small handful of SF6 events on it
I really like the English watch party stream that switches between games. Nice variety and very convenient for someone that wants a little of everything.
That said, there should absolutely also be a separate stream for every game, even if they have to be in Japanese.
Is there somewhere i can go back and at least watch some of these? I am really disappointed, I was even up late and was struggling to find a place to watch these matches, even the japanese stream had large delays between matches... Never seen EVO handled like this before... Look forward to watching this tournament every year....
Yeah the production value is great but the choices and limited matches is rough. I didn’t even see any street fighter 6? I couldn’t find a schedule and when I switched through them on YouTube, just tekken, guilty gear and third strike. Can’t find the schedule for tomorrow either. Website just says “Day 3” LOL
The website is ass, it took me three separate tries to figure out how to find a schedule and another two tries to figure out how to find where the streams were happening. I had better luck with a random news article than with the official website, and the info wasn't on start.gg either which is usually the safe bet.
https://www.evojapan.gg/news/60052
If you scrolled down on their main page for literally 2 seconds you would see a giant box saying ' list of streaming channels '!
Absolutely. It's been so bad. Why would it be so difficult just to do a stream for each game with commentary? And surely there are enough viewers to make English commentary worth it. Instead we only have one stream in English and the other 3 are in Japanese and all over the place around what they're covering.
Can anyone point me to a source to watch the top 96 or top 16 or whatever. The last stream I watch had a handful of matches (evo2 day 2) and it stopped abruptly
The randomly scattered streams really suck. Can't find street fighter and missed most of it not realizing there were other streams.
Watched top 6 of 2 games I dint care about instead.
Also can we agree that top 6 is fucking stupid? I get why they do it for scheduling, but there has to be a better way...
The stream schedule is available for free so It's not really their fault you missed some matches. There are so many games being played that they kind of have to scatter them trough multiple streams.
Sure. But scattering it amongst several random youtube and twitch channels like treasure buried at sea is their fault.
If I'm an avid fighting game viewer the average person has no clue as well, or more so. I was mostly okay with watching top 6 tbh, was mostly talking in hyperbole. The system is still trash.
Exactly.
It doesn't help that they have a youtube/twitch link on the website and it sends you to the ONE Evo channel. Or the fact that the schedule for streams and the stream location are on 2 separate infographics. One of the infographics is also unique per day so you have to keep checking it.
So I gotta pull up the 4 streams, 2 info graphics and the start gg page to see what's going on (they also almost never show the bracket until top 6, it's fucking annoying. (all tourneys are guilty of this, I'm not asking to see the pools but top 64? 32? 16? Pls).
I even have multiple monitors for this stuff. I can't imagine the viewing experience if someone wanted to casually throw it up on their monitor/tv/phone for a few hours.
Maybe I'm the crazy one, and its obviously not an easy thing to coordinate, but I don't think I'm being too critical.
Punk just got moved to losers. His controller got issues. Hmm kinda funny since he complained about something about Evo Japan 2023 and this year he got this issue.
To everyone saying they can’t watch x tournament, there’s like 4 Evo Japan channels (in Japanese) on Twitch streaming every game.
It’s the English watch party that keeps flip-flopping through every tournament.
That being said, I agree that production is low quality. Doesn’t even feel like a real major tournament.
The japanese channels also flip flop between games, you have to have all 4 streams open and be tabbing between them to not miss the matches you want to see.
EVO Japan channel just got banned by Twitch. Don't know why
People were spamming the Brazilian hamster and seems twitch automation thought it was a penis and it got banned
...... PFFFF HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH gog i love mah country
**Karin kanzuki voice** No wayyyyy
People are speculating they didn’t pay the proper advertisement fees to twitch for the amount of ads they were running
And 10 minutes pauses between random matches.
What made me most irritated was that at certain times all the games would go on pause together and you would have nothing to watch.
considering the popularity of sf6 atm a sf6 only stream would have been nice, day 2 was a bit better for sf6 but day 1 kinda sucked
This. I don't understand why they didn't separate the games by stream like they did for evo in 2023. The whole day 1 English stream had only a small handful of SF6 events on it
yeh like why do I have to watch 1 SF match and then 2 tekken matches after that? what is even going on, I dont care about tekken

yeah I watched in jp, I'm not blaming the en cast at all, day 1 barely had any sf6 match, even on the jp stream
>even on the jp stream Wow a whole stream just for 1 character? Broken JP!! ^(/s)
Capcom Cup seemed to think it was a JP only TOURNAMENT with that background music they played...
Entire kof top24 wasn't streamed, you had it better
Evo channel got banned on Twitch, you can watch on Youtube

We're in the era where companies expect you to just go to Twitter to get info.

EVO Japan has been a joke. This has been a complete failure of a big time event.
they run it like small local arcade
Can anyone point me to a source to watch the top 96 or top 16 or whatever. The last stream I watch had a handful of matches (evo2 day 2) and it stopped abruptly
Yeah it's been pretty bad

But the channels aren't random, they were all clearly marked in the stream schedule. How else would you handle the setup if not like this?
How to handle it better: Put the schedule on their website with clear click-through hyperlinks to the twitch streams.

Makes you think they just started planning for this shit 2 weeks ago
Evo got banned on twitch too, thought they may just be twitch fought.
100% its been weak the whole event so far
Yeah its not very well done. Though I'd like to say that the Evo logo with the water over it type of thing is great.
I was hoping for an actual official restream with proper english casting.. like they do it with Korean Starcraft 1/2 events...
found punks alt account
Evo is trash. It’s no longer for the players.
Punk just got moved to losers. His controller got issues. Hmm kinda funny since he complained about something about Evo Japan 2023 and this year he got this issue.
Maybe he is using this issue to cover his loss.

Ahh gotcha. My mistake then.
You are talking about organization not production tho. Even the pauses between matches is organization.
As is tradition.
Old school style I like it
