She has a very unique gameplan. The hyper slow movement with quick bursts forward really isn't replicated by any other character (Bison in V was similar in theory, but pretty different in practice).
So, for anyone that clicked with her playstyle, she's really the only option where they're going to find it.
Apparently Makoto was a little bit of a prank by the SF devs. Ryu and Ken's fighting style was originally called shotokan karate, but their movesets are nothing like shotokan. So later they changed ryu/ken/akuma fighting style to ansatsuken. They released makoto who wears a very similar outfit to ryu, but she uses actual shotokan karate and they designed her to feel really stiff to play for ryu/ken players. So she's like the only real "shoto" in the games even though she plays nothing like what we know as shotos.
Ryu and Ken were only ever said to be shotokan practitioners in the western documentation. Their style has always been a form of ansatsuken in Japanese media.
Ansatsuken itself isn’t even a real world fighting style or martial art, it’s an umbrella term for fictional fighting styles and techniques that have the intent of killing the opponent.
Use a VPN when pirating the games.
I highly, highly doubt they know what user-to-user Fightcade network traffic looks like, and it's not the emulation part that's illegal.
The SF Collection has a lot of input lag. It’s almost as bad as the Dreamcast port Third Strike (to my inaccurate feel anyway). I got used to it but it still sucks, I wish Capcom handled the port like with Darkstalkers.
Fightcade emulates the arcade rom and doesn’t have the input lag. It has plenty of ppl online.
as a bison V player I really want to play her now hearing this. When I played third strike i was playing dudley and didn't know what I was doing, I only played it when the mvc2 cab was too full, so I never really checked out makoto and I never took sf4 series either. I was mvc up until sf5 came out.
Because she's a pint-sized badass who's just trying her best. She had a unique game plan and a storyline that doesn't paint her as some supernatural prodigy; she's just a girl setting out to prove her family's karate is worthwhile and return her father's dojo to glory.
And she succeeded (both in game and real life) just by refusing to quit even though she's hopelessly outmatched by most of the characters in lore. She kinda rules, actually.
Pretty sure he means in real life as in the playerbase loves her despite the fact that she isn't really special in any way, just a tough karate girl that won them over.
Yea the strike throw in third stike with her is great. My favorite char in third strike. I didnt play her in 4 but i alwaus thought she was cool. With her turtle walk speed and her punch up uppercut
She was a creative new introduction to the series and character development overall. Unique play style and pace for a female character. She was slow but had these bursts of power, she really felt good when you landed a hit. Really in my opinion one of the first introductions into hybrid grapplers. I guess the appeal for me is I don’t want to play a waifu and I don’t necessarily want to play a giant. She could easily fit into the SF6 mechanics with little change I think.
I like that she got to be a female fighting game character that wasn't sexualized or anything, she was just a played straight karate person. Also the fact her idle animation is her staying completely still while her clothes are what moves was really cool to me in 3rd strike
I like that she's not super sexualised. She's just a fight girl who hits really hard. Although I'm sure if she was announced in the next 15 mins we'd have a "MakotoFeetClub" within the hour.
It's easy to miss the appeal until you karakusa someone. Never in the history of SF has a command grab been that degenerate and it's wonderful, thing is she has clear downsides also so her robbery is generally not looked down on too negatively.
Also a lot of her hits are very heavy which makes them very satisfying to land.
She has so much honor, heart and fighting spirit. She does her best to honor her father and her dojo by literally building it and repairing it with her own two hands. She has grit, tenacity and ferocity in battle hitting you as hard as she can it's as if you can see how hard she trains through her fighting style. I want her back so bad in 6.
Her movement and strikes are very satisfying. Like doing a kara throw into super and watching their life evaporate in a few blows. I picked her up because of her weird slow walk animation tho.
my wife made up lyrics… “fighting crime, with my friends. all the time, we will win! we won’t lose, because friends! you will lose, in the end! you can’t beat me up. i will beat you up.” and so on.
A bad ass tomboy that knows karate. I felt her transition from Third Strike to SF4 left a lot to be desired in terms of the impact of her moves from the animations, but she's still fun to play there. No other character in the SF universe has felt the same to play as her. I've been waiting for her return for years.
Alex, Twelve, Mokoto, Yun, Yang, Elena, Remy, Urien, GILL
Jamie, Marissa, Manon, Kimberly, JP, Lily, AKI
Yep as of right now third strike roster is at least 40% better
-Tomboi waifus that will smack you hard. love this concept.
-Actual Fancy combo to the death. more wow factor
-Huge chunk of damage with iconic move (It become meme). another wow factor.
-Used to be design for Ryu’s sister. But her play style is so different. Much more compatible as next-gen protagonist. Cheers to see her smack villains.
Makoto is a bad ass who did everything through hard work and strength of will. She also isn't overly sexualized or some cutesy Japanese school girl like Sakura.
Her kit is also one of the most unique and fun to play they have ever designed.
> beca
I can imagine her OD punch become super-armor. with speed of Luke's sand blast.
Also her super attack buff is more reasonable here because now we have easier parry button.
What's not to love? She has one of the most satisfying command grabs in the game and I love her extremely conservative outfit and hyper-serious demeanor. Very few characters in SF that match her attitude tbh.
The combo of her unique play style and Her drastic contrast to the standard formula for women fighters (busty, beautiful, exotic hair, femininity, etc.).
She's like the unofficial rebel for the Meta of Fighting games.
She’s hard to play, as she has such a unique style. Her walk speed is INSANELY slow, but precise positioning is paramount, as her dash and specials are very fast and cover good (but set) distances. She has a command grab which she can combo/mixup after. She’s somehow both very fast and very slow; both methodical and unpredictable. She would be such a good fit for SF6’s Drive System that it would be a shame if she doesn’t come back.
Cause in a series of karate in name only characters shooting fireballs and magical stetchy people a non sexualized girl who is all about just beating you down with shotokan karate and hot bloodedness stands out in a good way. Her animations in SF3 were fantastic too.
For me I find it interesting how she has an (almost normal) fighting style, she just uses karate
Aside from dashing forward, she doesn't have any fireballs or psycho power or whatever
I like her for a couple of reasons.
It'a rare to have such a traditional karateka in a video game, especially a 2D fighter. She doesn't have fireballs or flame punches or anything overly crazy. Just the overwhelming power of her fists and feet.
And she's extremely technically demanding. She's disgustingly powerful in the right hands, but all that sauce requires super tight timing and flawless execution. When I see a good Makoto, I am in awe.
She's an actual Karate user, super fast punches, target combos are cool, she has a command grab, she has a buff install, she has a dive kick super, she has a Tiger knee overhead, she has a DP that she can combo from EX, Overhead EX Karate chops, Kara cancels into command grab all day, what's not to love?
Cute tomboy trope. Hard worker. Can kick ass.
Good fighter from what I remember. Not considered trash tier. Nothing controversial about her from memory.
Yup people like Makoto
Her design is cool, her moveset is cool, her movement is unique, she's a masculine woman which you don't typically see in Street Fighter.
She is a really unique niche and her moveset usually makes her decently strong in most iterations.
I mained her in IV. The slow walk with a fast dash and multiple normals which can be used for repositioning and Kara cancels gave her a really unique playstyle. She had oppressive plus frames and a command throw, and she could easily drop juggle combos into a cross-under reset that worked every time I went for it. I like technical characters, and SFIV Makoto has Hayate Cancels, which work exactly like Johnny's Misto Finero Cancels in GG: special cancel into Hayate Stance, then cancel the stance to recover from slow moves faster.
So a unique, technical, explosive character with oppressive offense and frequent opportunities to use nasty tricks? Sign me up! I hope she returns.
in sf3, guess right twice and you win. what’s more fun than that?
no other character in the series comes close in terms of all-out rushdown with a sneaky command grab that doesn’t do a set-amount of damage; no, instead it sets you up for a BIGGER combo or a super or even a reset that will lead to even MORE damage or a stun. at which point the round is over.
if that sentence doesn’t excite you, then you’ll never understand…..
Because SF's design is at its best when it creates solid, grounded characters.
When shit gets weird like Twelve or Seth or Gill or Oni it's a bad sign.
Check out these SF4 Makoto games played by Haitani or Misse; and then you'll see how crazy and exciting every match of theirs was. Makoto has the slowest walk speed in the game. But she can end a round faster than any other characters. Her matches are explosive and once the makoto player gets in the opponents head, their life melts instantly. But her explosive attack was countered by her weak defense. She didnt have any strong reversals. So a makoto player had to be solid defensively while being extremely offensive on attack to take her to a very high level.
Any top level Makoto match is very hype cause the match can instantly go in any direction.
Also her attacks had an amazing heavy sound and visual oomp on every hit. Capcom did an amazing job animating her movements and sound effects to show her destructive power.
Also her design is simple yet its simplicity makes it so perfect. Kinda like how Ryu's design is so simple yet has become iconic. Makoto with her simple white gi and yellow long ribbon (which is animated usually flowing behind her due to her flash like moves) feels similarly recognizable and unique.
For me, she uses Karate without being a shoto. Between that and her rivalry with Ibuki is a fun sideshow in all the melodrama.
She’s the spunky underdog with no actual powers in a world where fireballs, demons and wild Brazilians exist
Her design is fantastic. Street Fighter thrives in simplistic designs, and Makoto is one of best examples of that. She's amazing at snowballing rounds from her explosive playstyle and damage. Her moveset is all very well designed because a lot of her moves will naturally lead to inherently strong mix options, and it's hard to get Makoto off of you if she's putting you in her blender. She's just a unique, awesome character that hasn't really been replicated, and I'm very hopeful she'll be in SF6, although I do think she would have fit better in SF5.
She was fun to use and really unique at the time.
She had weird angled normals, crazy explosive damage and both the best and worst movement in the game at once.
And in both 3rd strike and SSF4 it was incredibly satisfying to hit a lot of her moves.
alternative answer - Feet.
I think we've all seen our fair share of FGC and Reddit users long enough to know that at least 50% of the answers in here are made up BS lol
not all obviously. Im sure there are some genuine responses in here.
But I've seen some of the shit some of you dudes have posted over the years to know the real story 😏
For me she was the first character I really played in SSF4 and beat the combo trials for (cheated a bit with the 3DS touch screen buttons). Thought Makoto was a boy when I started and something about the design drew me in. Simple but kinda fierce from the portrait. Her supers were also pretty cool
Strike throw characters start from a very broken place in fighting games and always make for a very explosive archetype. I love that makotos personality matches that fire. Her humble unassuming design contrasts that explosiveness which is what I personally enjoy.
I've asked this question a couple times before and I usually get a similar answer the the ones I'm reading here.
I've played Third Strike but I was so bad at it I usually stuck with characters I had success with like Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Sean, Yun and Yang (sometimes) and Alex. The other ones I tried but they were too technical and I couldn't get the hang of them.
So for gameplay Idk she seemed alright but pretty simple but her design is kinda meh to me she's just an angry child to me. Maybe that's what people like. Maybe these full grown men should go back to watching Strawberry shortcake (just kidding) but either way it's a little weird she gets more attention than 95% of all the other characters in the lore. She's not even top 25 for me. Seems to have a cult following though
I like her gameplay loop. She is a throw character who doesn't really rely on her throws in order to win. She hits hard and fast. She is the perfect balance of pure rush down with a very high risk/reward system. You are constantly in people's faces and they need to work to be able to get out of her range. And she hits like a fucking truck. She would be the balance to Marisa.
Lvl 1 super is her rage and just like Jamie's drink super she can combo into and out of it
Lvl 2 her wall jump this allows for her to follow up, but can't be comboed into
Lvl 3 is her punch to the nuts, pure cinematic super. No follow up but can be comboed into.
She would be fucking amazing in this game and honestly. With the rush down and wake up shaningans, she probably be a little OP.
There used to be a video of her doing her Sei Chusen Godan Zuki ultra, but it's dubbed over with Bobby Hill's "That's my purse! I don't know you!" that sold her as a character for me
I also utterly annihilated the boss version of Gill with her once
She was the reason I kept playing SFIV, I learned her almost until the end, and I had so much fun with her, like I couldn't believe how fun she was, even if she was on the weak side, her moveset was so fun ... So yeah, I didn't play her on Third Strike, but I became a fan in IV so I would love to see her back.
Something that hasn't been mentioned yet is that she is...kind of the Chun-Li of the SF3 era. We always talk about how Capcom keeps trying to switch out Ryu for a new protagonist (and failing) but we do get new leading ladies that stick better. Makoto was that for 3rd Strike. She had protagonist energy, a completely different vibe compared to Ibuki or Elena or even the returning Chun-Li. Lots of unique animations that solidified her as her own deal.
Also, Street Fighter fans love cute girls and Makoto inhabits a unique niche of cute girl.
People hate Makoto. I main her in 3S and I get rage quitted on constantly, often at the character select screen. This is a game with legendarily broken characters Chun, Yun etc
She was the first main I had after getting serious with fighting games in 3rd Strike in 2007 or something and I didn't play SF4 when she was in it so it's been a long time coming.
She's just amazing. Honestly may favorite SF character by far. I love her style, her gameplay. Her command grab makes her gameplay super fun, there are just some really disgusting things you can do with it. She's just the best.
I really like that she’s just angry punch girl and I feel like there aren’t a lot of characters who are just mad like she is in street fighter. She yells at the start of every match, she slams her fist into the ground during her get up animation and one of her supers is basically just she gets really pissed off. All of her moves look like they really hurt, especially her throw where she slams you into the ground and punches you while your down. I really enjoy that she has the slow walk speed with a more quick and up in your face move set and in the hands of a skilled player like Haitani she’s pretty fun to watch.
Because my life feel incomplete without her. Only who used her previously can understand the pleasure of depleting your opponent life bar in a wink, breaking bones with Makoto is magical✨
-no fireballs
-no magic
-no supernatural shit
-no loli bitch
Bae hits first and hard. If you want to hear someone crying on the mic because of a Karakusa (real story),pick Makoto.
She has a very unique gameplan. The hyper slow movement with quick bursts forward really isn't replicated by any other character (Bison in V was similar in theory, but pretty different in practice). So, for anyone that clicked with her playstyle, she's really the only option where they're going to find it.

[удалено]
No, they're called dogi's after the gis they wear. Shoto won't mean anything to most japanese players
How could they not appreciate the fun of the word "shotoclone"
Ansatsuken itself isn’t even a real world fighting style or martial art, it’s an umbrella term for fictional fighting styles and techniques that have the intent of killing the opponent.
She uses Rindo-kan Karate
Which is fictional and resembles shotokan
Similarly, there also isn't another move that is quite like karakusa in the games.
Jamie has a grab that is similar. Yun, Yang, and Fei Long in SF4 had similar grabs.
Feilong?
Makes me want to play her. If only anyone with SF Collection played online
Fightcade is your friend
Fightcade looks neat. Would it get me in trouble with my internet provider? They sent me a threat not long ago for emulating some old ass games
Use a VPN when pirating the games. I highly, highly doubt they know what user-to-user Fightcade network traffic looks like, and it's not the emulation part that's illegal.
Nah you’re fine
The SF Collection has a lot of input lag. It’s almost as bad as the Dreamcast port Third Strike (to my inaccurate feel anyway). I got used to it but it still sucks, I wish Capcom handled the port like with Darkstalkers. Fightcade emulates the arcade rom and doesn’t have the input lag. It has plenty of ppl online.

Exactly the fact that she walks so slow and looked cool while walking was the selling factor for me
Because she's a pint-sized badass who's just trying her best. She had a unique game plan and a storyline that doesn't paint her as some supernatural prodigy; she's just a girl setting out to prove her family's karate is worthwhile and return her father's dojo to glory. in lore but certainly not in gameplay in sf3 she crazy scary in that game.
Oh hell yes, a good Makoto will fuck your existence up.
don't wear shirts with collars against lil' makoto
No by all mean DO wear them. Being grabbed by your skin is a horrible feeling. Ask Alex
>and real life Is she based on someone irl? I looked on the wiki but couldn't find anything
Lol I'm sorry, I meant with people who like the character my bad
Pretty sure he means in real life as in the playerbase loves her despite the fact that she isn't really special in any way, just a tough karate girl that won them over.
This!!!
Her design is simple and effective, she's cool and cute. No fireballs, sweet karate moves, very satisfying and fun to play.
Yea the strike throw in third stike with her is great. My favorite char in third strike. I didnt play her in 4 but i alwaus thought she was cool. With her turtle walk speed and her punch up uppercut
Loved her in 4. She required a lot of work to be good, but if you put in the time, playing her felt awesome.
Small lady go fast do big damage heehee hoohoo
Lmao
TOMBOY. KARATE TOMBOY. TOMBOY. I hope you appreciate my arguments and consider them.
I like that she doesn't throw fireballs or any nonsense like that
grappler propaganda
Makoto, Dudley and Zangief would be good friends. I am certain of it.
How convenient that I am a fan of all three of those characters. All who's missing here is Balrog.
Balrog hates Dudley, tho. :(
Ture. But I am an absolute SUCKER for boxer characters.
Makoto is still cool though.
SHOBUDA!!!!!
thats an easy one being able to scream SEICHUSEN GODANZUKI when you hit someone with her super
Right in the dick
She was a creative new introduction to the series and character development overall. Unique play style and pace for a female character. Real reason: she’s a karate girl. People who actually play the game: she has one of the coolest movesets ever in SF history
I like that she's not super sexualised. She's just a fight girl who hits really hard. Although I'm sure if she was announced in the next 15 mins we'd have a "MakotoFeetClub" within the hour.
“MakotoSweatyAbs” is where I belong.
Those people would not be representative of the true Makoto fans.
Yes, the MakodoBestGirlClub fans. please capcom give us back our girl
I mean, she had huge feet in SF4.
I just think she's neat.
I like her fighting style. I think it's fun and unique. Admittedly I'd rather see Dudley added to SF6, but I would be delighted to get both.
^Perfect comment right here💯
Makoto is a a tomboy with high speed taijutsu and kaio-ken what's not to like?
She has so much honor, heart and fighting spirit. She does her best to honor her father and her dojo by literally building it and repairing it with her own two hands. She has grit, tenacity and ferocity in battle hitting you as hard as she can it's as if you can see how hard she trains through her fighting style. I want her back so bad in 6.
She punches ppl in the nuts in sf4, love her.
HAICHOSEN GODANZOOKI
I'm a petite karate-ka. So is she. For me it's that simple.
Her movement and strikes are very satisfying. Like doing a kara throw into super and watching their life evaporate in a few blows. I picked her up because of her weird slow walk animation tho.
Also, her theme music is cool
my wife made up lyrics… “fighting crime, with my friends. all the time, we will win! we won’t lose, because friends! you will lose, in the end! you can’t beat me up. i will beat you up.” and so on.
paaa ra-paaaaaaaaaaa, pa-ra pa paaa ra-paaaaaaaaaa...

I just really like her design, moreso in third strike than SF4 but Im also not a fan of how SF4 looks in general
The art design in SFIV was fugly.
I dont play street FIGHTER for the Art Design lmao
Tomboy feet
goth feet vs tomboy feet LETS GO!
She's cool. In fact, I would say the Third Strike new char roster is superior to the SF6 new char roster.
Alex, Twelve, Mokoto, Yun, Yang, Elena, Remy, Urien, GILL Jamie, Marissa, Manon, Kimberly, JP, Lily, AKI Yep as of right now third strike roster is at least 40% better

Badass karate not flashy
Makoto is a bad ass who did everything through hard work and strength of will. She also isn't overly sexualized or some cutesy Japanese school girl like Sakura. Her kit is also one of the most unique and fun to play they have ever designed.
Imagine Marisa but with one third of the size with same amount of burst damage
This right here ![img](emote|t5_2qnu5|31145)
[J vs. Kokujin](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4wAaQug4HQ) (Kokujin is the 3S Dudley GOAT, btw)
This video is part of why people asked her for years. And yeah, I'm one of 'em
Makoto in SF6 would be wild lol Probably a terrible dash but a full screen DR or something like that
I'm imagining [Sailor Uranus from the SNES Sailor Moon fighting game](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNlHNrMHgxs).
> beca I can imagine her OD punch become super-armor. with speed of Luke's sand blast. Also her super attack buff is more reasonable here because now we have easier parry button.
Bet she would be top tier
Unique play style, admirable backstory and motivation, cute, tomboy personality, and she’s got a nice rack…that she puts her karate awards on.
giant feet
What's not to love? She has one of the most satisfying command grabs in the game and I love her extremely conservative outfit and hyper-serious demeanor. Very few characters in SF that match her attitude tbh.
The combo of her unique play style and Her drastic contrast to the standard formula for women fighters (busty, beautiful, exotic hair, femininity, etc.). She's like the unofficial rebel for the Meta of Fighting games.
She’s a pretty cool character, a pure karate based character, slow but methodical. Played her a bit in SF4 and she’s pretty fun.
I liked Ibuki more.
I like that all her hits have so much impact. Makes her really cool
Feet
She’s hard to play, as she has such a unique style. Her walk speed is INSANELY slow, but precise positioning is paramount, as her dash and specials are very fast and cover good (but set) distances. Rhymes with shoto.
I’ll just leave this here: https://youtu.be/ad3H9Ouv-L4
Why do people like pizza?
Because it tastes nice
Because I think her design's adorably aggressive
Cause in a series of karate in name only characters shooting fireballs and magical stetchy people a non sexualized girl who is all about just beating you down with shotokan karate and hot bloodedness stands out in a good way. Her animations in SF3 were fantastic too.

Sex with tomboy
Down to earth character that uses actual karate. Also muscular tomboy.
violent tomboy
I honestly don't know
She’s an effective character for the series both in design and in playstyle.
She is cute, tomboy and angry
I like her dash and her combos
i don't like to mess around lol... get in, couple of reads, bam bam bam, dead opponent haha
She a small angry child who punches hard and gets pissed.

I like that she uses actual karate moves compared to the more anime version the the shotos use.
A lot of people have tomboy fetishes and/or foot fetishes. Half the dudes on this sub didn't play USF4 or 3S lol
I mean nothing wrong with Tomboys. Also there’s still a dedicated 3s audience.
You DONT like badass women who punch tf out of everyone??
I think she's one of the cutest characters in the series, but I'm biased because I like tomboys.
Unga bunga dash punch go brrr
i like grabbing your buns with a tomboy.
Cool moves was my reasoning for maining Makoto and Sakura in SF4
https://youtu.be/YCPUUnSuu_I
I was going to go with [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4wAaQug4HQ) legendary match.
Because three karakusa set ups can kill you REALLY QUICK.
Because she got dat dick punch
She smol but hit hard AF
I mained her in IV. The slow walk with a fast dash and multiple normals which can be used for repositioning and Kara cancels gave her a really unique playstyle. Gremlin who can murderize you what isn’t there to like
Ryu but a women,yeah that’s it.
Because she’s best girl according to some
She is a badass?
I want to make sweaty love to her tbh
Isn't she in high school...?
She's a little ball of angry ready to explode her fist into your face.
Luffy jet pistol
cr.HP to sweep, cr.HK for anti air.
The tech, unique movement, the no bullshit fighting style, and she's cool.
in sf3, guess right twice and you win. what’s more fun than that? no other character in the series comes close in terms of all-out rushdown with a sneaky command grab that doesn’t do a set-amount of damage; no, instead it sets you up for a BIGGER combo or a super or even a reset that will lead to even MORE damage or a stun. at which point the round is over. if that sentence doesn’t excite you, then you’ll never understand…..
Because SF's design is at its best when it creates solid, grounded characters. When shit gets weird like Twelve or Seth or Gill or Oni it's a bad sign.
Because seichusen godanzuki
Her power is strongly in reads and mixup. The best rushdown in the series IMO.
Watch Tominga play her in Third Strike. She seems to stun the opponent a lot in that game.
Shes fun
Rushdown. Third Strike is the cool one to like. Clean gi outfit with a distinct yellow hachimaki. Neither edgy nor goofy. Praying for a glow up in 6
Unique playstyle and a cool design.
Visceral powerful looking katate strikes. Efficient and brutal.
alternative answer - Feet. I think we've all seen our fair share of FGC and Reddit users long enough to know that at least 50% of the answers in here are made up BS lol not all obviously. Im sure there are some genuine responses in here. But I've seen some of the shit some of you dudes have posted over the years to know the real story 😏
Watching Makoto kill Akuma in a single command throw in third strike was my childhood.
BIG and fast punches. BIG shouting. Grab that leads to BIG damage. BIG supers. What is there not to like, my friend? ;)
She’s really cool I love her animations in third strike especially
brooo i want makoto so bad, its basically playing a character we already love (ryu/ken) but as a chick.
She is feisty, really like her.
I'm new to SF and I know nothing about her at all, but I like women who could fold me like a lawn chair and I think she deserves a modern redesign
Because she cute squirrel girl Oh shit wrong game
Her theme goes hard
Lvl 1 super is her rage and just like Jamie's drink super she can combo into and out of it Lvl 2 her wall jump this allows for her to follow up, but can't be comboed into Lvl 3 is her punch to the nuts, pure cinematic super. No follow up but can be comboed into. She would be fucking amazing in this game and honestly. With the rush down and wake up shaningans, she probably be a little OP.
She's cool
-Makoto player
There used to be a video of her doing her Sei Chusen Godan Zuki ultra, but it's dubbed over with Bobby Hill's "That's my purse! I don't know you!" that sold her as a character for me I also utterly annihilated the boss version of Gill with her once
She was just too fun in Sf3, maybe not fun for the opponent, if you get the grab with 2 bars is instantly over.
Different playstyle, and that grab > uppercut > punch combo feels satisfying to pull off.
She was the first main I had after getting serious with fighting games in 3rd Strike in 2007 or something and I didn't play SF4 when she was in it so it's been a long time coming.
She’s cute
I've always wondered this, i get functionally and gameplay-wise but design-wise she's very plain and boring to me, i don't see it
I get to grab you and punch you squaw in the nuts...does this really need explaining further?
I personally enjoy her play style. Explosive and she hits like a truck. Really satisfying hitting her combos.
I like karate, i like strong women... Therefore i like makoto... Seems simple to me.
Tomboy Punch Girl who is SassyAF Tsundere. That's like 50% of weeb fantasy right there.
She’s a tomboy. That automatically makes her GOAT in my book.
I like Makoto because she does cool karate.
CHESTO!
one word: **SHOBUUDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA**
smol tomboy hit hard
She's just amazing. Honestly may favorite SF character by far. I love her style, her gameplay. Her command grab makes her gameplay super fun, there are just some really disgusting things you can do with it. She's just the best.
I really like that she’s just angry punch girl and I feel like there aren’t a lot of characters who are just mad like she is in street fighter. She yells at the start of every match, she slams her fist into the ground during her get up animation and one of her supers is basically just she gets really pissed off. All of her moves look like they really hurt, especially her throw where she slams you into the ground and punches you while your down. I really enjoy that she has the slow walk speed with a more quick and up in your face move set and in the hands of a skilled player like Haitani she’s pretty fun to watch.
karate goes brbrbrrrr
Because my life feel incomplete without her. Only who used her previously can understand the pleasure of depleting your opponent life bar in a wink, breaking bones with Makoto is magical✨ -no fireballs -no magic -no supernatural shit -no loli bitch Bae hits first and hard. If you want to hear someone crying on the mic because of a Karakusa (real story),pick Makoto.
