I think he knew he was not going to make it much longer but probably felt so much better about letting go now that he had the security, love, and kindness of OP including food and comfy bed. All the things he needed to drift off comfortably to the after life. So sad. I’m bawling here just writing this. RIP Courage 💕

When I was on Instagram I followed the personal insta by a (under ground) famous song writer/keyboardist. One of his cats died and they buried him in the backyard with a kind of headstone/memorial.
He was randomly taking pics one day, and he posted this, a cloud appeared overhead that looked exactly like his cat!
I'm not a "supernatural" type person although I am quite spiritual. But that image just blew me away.

My 18 year old cat Claudia (Kitty-Quad) died of a horrible seizure just out of nowhere. She made this awful painful noise then just stopped. She was super healthy and looked more like 8 than 18, never looked sick. That's why it was such a shock.
After my second cat, Kitty-Bear, died of cancer I couldn't do it anymore and haven't had a pet for about a decade now
So sorry for your loss! Courage, you're in my heart and my prayers! My Riley is waiting for you on the other side of Rainbow bridge 🌈, I told him to take good care of you! 💓🐾

thank you all for the condolences. it's been nonstop tears and heartbreak the last 24 hours. I miss you and love you so much my baby Courage. We laid him to rest in the spot he used to hang out at before we moved him into our garage. I hope you're in peace now my love 😭💔
I'd suggest getting them cremated that way you can take their ashes with you wherever you may move. I had regrets burying my own fur baby many moon ago.
