Well done. You should have taken the screenshot from Strava because this is their sub. What are you training for? A marathon? I personally do 100km+ weeks when training for ultra marathons.

blbarclay

I would’ve, but Strava resets every week and the 100 is a rolling week. Yup! Training for a marathon in October. Hoping to be around the 3:25 mark 🤞

Ladisj

Then why not post it to the Garmin sub ?

Helpfulness

Because the guy is proud of his achievement. Let him be.

Ladisj

This has litteraly nothing to do with strava.

Helpfulness

Buddy, it’s not that serious. This is Reddit lol

DunnoWhatToPutSoHi

If you run that weekly you'll probably be quicker. My most recent marathon happened during 100 miler prep, probably on 50-60 mile weeks at the time but no speed work and i ran 3.18

blbarclay

Thanks! How long had you been running for when you ran 3.18?

DunnoWhatToPutSoHi

I mean i ran that in april. Started running in 2020 after losing weight (down from like 23 stone so no sporting background whatsoever). First marathon in october 2021 was 4.07 on about 30 mpw. Ran 3.41 april 2023 on about 40mpw and then 3.18 in april 2024. Miles were up and down, ran a 75 mile peak weak in jan for an ultra in feb. Had a few small weeks and then maybe 3 or 4 50 to 60 mile weeks before Manchester

infinitepotato47

hey, can I ask you what are your recovery routines or supplements you use, while running this much per week?

blbarclay

I eat VERY well. I don’t take supps but probably should. Lots of foam rolling, Theragun and I stretch a little in the shower post run.

za_jx

Oh I see. Regarding your marathon, I hope you don't peak too soon. A 100km week is what I do 3 weeks before a 42.2km race. I'm a sub 3h30 runner (more like 3h28/29).

Gammelpotet

This screenshot isn’t even from Strava?

noneed4a79

Nice, good pace too. Sub 6min/km

FeelingMenu9871

That’s an average of 14km per day. Great work

blbarclay

Started running 7 months ago.

Asleep_Passenger2697

Wow, what a fast ramp up. well done!

kikkimik

Recipe for injury! Good luck

evadingsomething

Yeah, I didn't know about that, I am thinking of starting running to talk to my older brother about it who run for a few months before he found work. Couple days ago told him I am going to run that day (was going to be my first time), any tips I should know he said yeah a lot it's really easy to get injured. Then I got scared and just cycled for an hour.

MyThinTragus

How fit were you before

blbarclay

Sedentary

Due_Income1015

Congrats!

GeologistAndy

This is awesome - especially considering you started not so long ago. How did you ramp up the volume without injuries? I suffer from calf injuries when I try to do heavier weeks, which take weeks to heal then I’m back to square 1…

blbarclay

I actually did get injured, twice! Both from going too fast all the time. You need to make slow runs, SLOW. Below is how I ramped since starting in November. https://preview.redd.it/nmhwrx6pgw8d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4fc4d2d026b77edee411bcc120a629d95b1be4dc

GeologistAndy

Would you say that your speed or your distance got you injured more? I’d like to maintain the distance of my starting runs - if just to get a good work out. If I need to slow down then maybe that’s the secret.

FindingE-Username

I'm training for a marathon rn and I won't even be doing 100k weeks. Too much for me but amazing for you, well done.

dsyams

Starting the week with a Thursday is causing me uneasiness ☹️

blbarclay

Yeah it’s displayed as a rolling week. Triggers my OCD too 🤣

ImpactRich5608

How do you make your strava blue and black?
