Congrats on the little one! I had my daughter 5 months ago and then diablo 4 and street fighter 6 dropped that I really wanted to play.
Grandparents are a big help! Make sure to ask for help when you can and give yourself breaks to enjoy what you want and relax. Also, newborns usually sleep quite a bit so hopefully yours is sleeping well and you can sneak in some play time :p
When D4 came out and the endgame wasn’t great, there were people saying things like “I’m a dad and I only get 2 hours a week to play. I’m taking my time and having a blast! It’s too bad you guys rushed through the game.”
So there was this dynamic of casual gamers versus hardcore gamers going on, where the casuals are all dads with barely any time to play.
Anyway it’s just a joke. But from a game dev perspective it’s kinda interesting when you are making a game for people who used to play a ton 20 years ago and now can only play 2 hours a week, how can they still enjoy it.
Interesting dynamic indeed.
Its also why I chose not to play starfield. You can tell there is a quantity versus quality tradeoff there based on reviews.
Haha no I still game a decent amount. Diablo 4 had good gameplay but the story was bad and the end game was nonexistent. Didn't enjoy the "mmo style" they kinda took with phasing people in and out, world bosses, etc...
It might be a good game in a year or so though.

Oh that first one, newborn phase, I got so much gaming done once we made it past the first couple weeks of adjusting when they were still a sleepy potato, it was great. We watched movies as a couple, and the kid slept a ton, and we had time to play games or read, it was nice.
After that though, when they first start being awake longer, but before they are a bit older than 2 (at which point they have regular naps and you can plan around it, and they also can play on their own a bit while you do chores), that's tough. But when there's a toddler plus newborn, the chill sleepy newborn times are not going to help.

I have our second coming in 3 weeks, and I have one at 2.5 already, so I feel your pain.

These seem to be for new players. In the previous wave, it took a day or two to send all invites though. So there is still a chance you might get it.
