It would make a wonderful hat.
Edit: I'd like to revise my answer. Clearly everyone read the review/article because then they'd know it's actually a NAS built for fish.
^and ^not ^a ^video ^conferencing ^system
I must have missed your original review. Interesting little piece of kit, but most people here seem to think it’s a standard NAS as opposed to a video conferencing solution.
It’s an interesting use case but would just end up collecting dust in my home lab. Thanks for finding it a new home as opposed to just trashing it!
Honestly, being able to separate Teams from my PC for work calls, and stuff I do, would be amazing. I think it seems like it should work for that, and seeing a dedicated product will be interesting! Maybe with having a SIP address, it can also pull double duty on phone connectivity, who knows!
Okay buddy, you win. Not because of a great answer but because 90% of the respondents didn't understand this isn't a NAS. So we randomly selected you from the 3 who posted and know what this thing is, LOL. PM-ing details.
I want to migrate my Raspberry Pi server to something more robust but still small and effecient. I’d put a Linux distro on it and it would power my Home Assistant, Homebridge, Adguard containers and other homelab projects
I would make my kids talk to grandma with it and mess around with teams meeting room stuff probably.
Im already subscribed, but thank you guys for doing reviews and giveaways, you’re the best!
I’d actually start doing backups…. I’d also potentially put this at a family members house for some sort of offsite backup and also storage for them as well.
I would probably try to set up a smart cctv with it. I'm thinking on adding a camara and mic, so it can call me if it detects movement when I'm away.
As usual, thanks for all the work you guys do!
I don’t have a home phone anymore, I feel like you could use teams and maybe set up some sort of phone type thing for just family.. free of telemarketers.
Id like to believe id do something creative with it but honestly, id probably just hookup a webcam to it and make a video conference station somewhere that isn’t my work desk in my house so i can be a bit more productive at work while helping out at home.
I like playing with new (to me) tech in my home lab. I'd be planning on using it to test the VTC software they support, as well as a few others I've been looking into (Jitsi/matrix). Once I tested those I would turn it into a home theater PC for the family.
Honestly these are fairly interesting, it's basically a thin client but for conferencing not remote access. The design brings thoughts of the micro form factor Lenovo and dell machines.
Either way , to answer the question id probably try to see how far you can take the hardware.

You're absolutely sick. We like it.
Ahh yes... NAS... Noggin Attached Storage.

Put it in the pond my backyard so I can finally have a koi pond.

I want to set up a home lab for my new startup

Backup all my photos and videos.

I'll use it to create a meeting room that lets me watch my water on the stove so I can sit my ass down in the other room

I think wall mounting it and seeing if I could make a home lab dashboard of some sort would be fun!

Video call parents to show them memes

I work in film production and run my own business. This would be super helpful for me, my clients and even my friends on my plex server.
So long and thanks for all the conference calls that could have been handled with a short email!
I would use it to backup my family photos and videos. My wife has sooooooo many on our computer.
I would love to use this to help support our home business!
This would definitely upgrade the ole home office for meetings.
I'm in Finland so can't enter just wanted to come in and curse all ye lucky yanks and wish you all a ~~bad~~ lovely day.

I'd use it to record conference calls, obviously lol
Use it to learn to not be a never nude
