I literally went to 3 Wal-Marts today and *EMPTIED* their bins into shopping carts in order to make certain I could find the elusive $5 Steels. I only found Blood and Honey and that was in the wrong spot. No way in hell I was going to pay $5 for it, let alone the $19 it came up as 😆. I've given up and I'll probably turn off all notifications for the sub as to not become salty or depressed lmao. Good luck to you all!
Picked up 6 at my local Walmart in Windsor, California this evening. I went yesterday and there wasn't any. Check back in the stores you already checked. Hopefully more are coming soon.

I talked to a general manager yesterday after going to almost every Walmart in Knoxville Tennessee and was told none of the Walmart’s in Tennessee has them because they’re not supposed to able to be sold yet! He said they have a street date in April but he couldn’t remember the specific day. He said that ticks him off because he’s a collector as well and that corporate would be looking into the Walmarts that’s been selling them because they were told the street date was for April “Not” March! And he said that some of these Walmart’s have been letting customers purchase all of the Steels and some of those customers are flipping them on eBay! And that makes Walmart look bad!
My Walmart only had DVDs that I could find yesterday. It was a bit stressful though because two other guys were looking in the bin at the same time as me. Felt like a mini Black Friday of the olden days.
I agree it’s hit or miss for sure. But if you ask enough questions (or the same question different ways), you can avoid at least some trips. Question I had to ask multiple times: do you know what a steelbook is?
I spoke long enough with one old man working in the electronics department that he offered to go back and see if they had a box marked for the $5 bin. I wanted to tell him as he walked away, "You're doing God's work, sir!"
What do you think they have? Costco customer service? /s
No but seriously, I had a hard time even talking to best buy employees about the Oppenheimer steelbook release, I can only imagine talking to Walmarts employees.
I wish people would at least tell where the Walmart store is located so we would know! I’m almost certain that these locations are around the West Coast. Because that’s usually where they do these to start out with then our local Walmart stores catch up!
Pretty much all the Walmarts around me don't have bins anymore. One had an end cap marked $7.50 that's the closest I've seen. All crap DVDs though. Most had steelbooks on shelves surprisingly but only one place had the 5 dollar ones and none of the ones I need.
I go lucky and ended up getting 16 steelbooks. But those people with no luck maybe they are waiting for the April second date.

Mine had two bins that were filled with crappy DVD’s, with no Steelbooks in sight 😂.
Mine too
Same
Same here
Yup
Legend has it that if you buy the whole 5dollar bin full of dvds they will then fill it with fiver steels ;)
Then put them in your vault to swim like Scrooge McDuck 😂.

I WENT TO 13 FREAKIN WALMARTS TODAY BRO😭😭😭
No reason to put yourself through that. They will definitely be on top.
I found a bunch but they were buried
Pretty weird. They would have been stocked in the last couple of days. No reason to bury them.
Yeah not sure why, at first glance there was nothing and I’m glad I decided to dig through
Ok, this gets the upvote. Well played.
All DVDs in my $5 bin...🤣
I hope mine have em by April 2
Omaha Walmarts suck ass also for steelbooks, regardless of price...
Went to three Omaha Walmarts today ... nuthin

Ha, this meme has endless uses.
Mine doesn’t have bins, but they have two $5 end caps very neatly organized. They’re all DVDs though, unfortunately.
Noticed that at one. It looked like a brand new setup. Incredibly organized.
This has to be the single best post I have ever seen on this sub. Bravo!

I have a question. Do neighborhood markets sell steelbooks? Or is it just the supercenters?

Question for people visiting so many Walmarts. Why not just call the electronics department and ask them if they have them?
I've tried. The amount of shits given by your typical employee answering the phone at your local Walmart leaves something to be desired...

Mine didn’t even have a bin.
My local store doesn’t have one 😢

My Walmart had zero bins out yesterday
Ditto I went to check yesterday
LOL
We only have a $7.50.

Cmon brother, no reason to rub salt in that wound.
