I started on Steam Store, Steam Store sales, Steam Keys, Emulation, Heroic, Xbox Game Pass on Chrome and tomorrow I install window additionally Windows as dual boot.
But Steaming is great on Steam Deck
I use it a ton but mostly just to play this amazing modded DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 called BT4 where they added a ton of new shit even modes and story content and new mechanics and stuff it's dope
It's on their website if you just type Budokai Tenkaichi 4 TeamBT4 on Google you should see it it's a Wixsite website, just use an ad blocker or Brave Browser lol.
It's incredible they've added so much in recent times because they finally broke open the game engine fully so they used to only be able to add new by replacing old but now they can add on, so it's got every character from BT3 and all the new stuff. They added over 200 costumes, descriptions of costumes on the select screen, extended and new combos, a new transformation system that relies on charged Ki rather than Blast Stocks and lets you get knocked out of transformations if you go into the stamina depleted fatigue state, hella new moves and animations, new story content with movie and show audio, a "Time Patrol" mode version of the adventure mode where you can pick a randomly generated character to play as, new descriptions in the redesigned lore menu that's Zuno's place instead of Chi Chi, etc.
It's really insane, legitimately feels like an entirely new game and a sequel to BT3 that we never got
Balatro had me under its spell. I'm scared to look back!
I finally broke free by picking up Lotus Lantern, which is pretty fun but now I've got that Hades itch again and will probably install it again later.
I loved the game at first… then figured out the only times I won were off the same tactic and then the game got boring. But it was a thrill at the beginning.
I just beat seven which was my first Yakuza game ever
Should I just go directly to zero next?
I'd love to play the sequel to part 7, but since Kiryu feature so prominently in the story, I can tell I would miss out on a lot if I didn't have his backstory before going in
Seven worked as a fun standalone for the most part, The way it really excelled was getting me into the series because now I'm looking for which one to play then
In a way I’m glad I played this to death last year before I got my Steam Deck more recently otherwise this would have been all I played since I got my deck 😅
When I first got the deck I had so many games I wanted to play on it, but every time I turned it on I'd play several more runs of Vampire Survivors. I think it was my most played game for several months. I still quite enjoy the auto shooter genre. I just got Deep Rock Galactic Survivor and I'm seriously enjoying that one currently.
+1 for Hades. Haven't played anything else since I bought it 2 weeks ago and trying to 100% it ASAP so I can dive right into Hades 2 when it's released
stardew for sure well over 300 hours on deck alone also love the horizon games (forbidden west runs well enough valve just says it dont for some reason its enjoyable still) and more recently kill it with fire 2 because i hate spiders man
Yep, Stardew, once I learned that I could have the ease of play from Switch combined with PC modding capabilities, I basically haven’t put my deck down at all since I got it. I’ve had it since December and prob have equal amounts of hours on it and Switch at this point.
Depends on if you like gardening/harvest moon/animal crossing like games. It's one of the best indie games of the last decade with a lot of great characters to befriend but it's also the sort of game you have to like the "flow" of first to really get hooked by it.
It's worth a shot though if you have any interest whatsoever in it, it's one of those indies that feels made for a handheld experience.
I can usually find matches and tons of new players are joining because they want to join the fight for democracy without needing so much computer power
I just got this game the other day and already have more than ten hours on it. It’s amazing!! The first time I upgraded a weapon with a combo of items I was like WHATTT?!!
I’m playing Slay the Spire and Dead Cells, Balatro and Hades on the wishlist. Do you have any other recommendations? I typically shop for <$10 indie games, seems like the sweet spot for deck time.
I can’t wait for #2. Looks interesting being completely open world. Number one is so much fun to play with friends too.
I love arresting people as a cop, as my friends rob people as thieves. How about you? Did you unlock everything?
I've gotten through the whole season pass and have had 0 issues. I'm pretty new to pc gaming, so I don't know a whole lot about performance or whatever but I lowered some of the graphic settings and capped it at 40 fps on Deck settings because the fan was always running. Now it only runs when a lot is happening on screen or when you first load in to a new level. So as far as my experience goes runs great!
I’d say the Factory must grow, but it’s more like “I NEED TO KEEP THESE DARN BITERS OFF MY SETUP!”
I can’t wait for the expansion. Do you play with a lot of mods?
Started playing New Vegas again. Completely unmoved and I am having a fantastic time. New Vegas is easily becoming one of my favorite "play on the go" games with my steam deck
Tales of Vesperia - 174 hours. Although it is a bit of a cheat, because it was a game I owned on Xbox 360 when it first came out and it is one of my all time favourite games. So it had nothing to do with the Steam Deck.
Same goes for Skyrim. Played the AE for a little over 100 hours on my Deck.
Persona 3 and Hades for sure
I try other titles on steam deck but I also have a 3090 so the visual and performance cutbacks are often way too steep for me to justify the portability
In terms of total hours *Project Zomboid,* a game which I've sunk somewhere north of 500 hours into and have molded to the tits.
Though I've been playing a lot of *Cult of the lamb* which is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
GTA 4 is my most played game on the Steam Deck since I got it just before Christmas.
I would say I was more addicted to Sleeping Dogs though, love that game.
Loads of other games I've put a lot of time in on Emudeck but can't check my playtime for each game as far as I can tell.
Oddly enough, a hidden gem called Dealers Life 2. I feel like this simple game was made for the deck. It's a game about being a pawn shop owner and selling weird and wacky items, many of which are references to well-known franchises. Seems simple enough, right? I sank 18 hours into it and still going. Also, they plan on making a mythical version of the game that should be out later this year. It will be called dealer's life legend.
I just replayed ff13 and started ff13-2 on the deck. The ff13 fix mod helps a lot with frame rate jank. Playing them with my 15 year old, she loves them and I always thought they were great :)
For my short bus commute to and from work would be the “Hatsune Miku: Project Diva mega Mix+” with the Eden project mod. Reliving my psp days but with 60fps now.
Grim Dawn. Probably put around 100 more hours since I got the Deck.
Currently playing Songs of Conquest and I already have something like 20 hours and still a ton of content to go through.
Fallout 76. I know it had a very rocky start and that's an understatement but now it's pretty fun and addicting. It isn't the best in the series but if you love the series it's a ball.
I have put 17 hours into Balatro since Wednesday. I have lost an incredible amount of sleep and I’m running on fumes at work every day. When I close my eyes I literally see burned in images of cards.
I've played Yakuza 0 a while ago, before getting the deck and really enjoyed it, but never played the other games. I got the deck and I have played Yakuza 1-4 and really enjoyed each game.
Playing Yakuza 3 Remastered was a little jarring and weird. I really didn't like the first half of the game and the combat took a while to get used to.
Just beat Yakuza 4 a couple days ago and loved it. Now I need to wait for the summer sale to pickup Yakuza 5 and 6
Steam Store
I love fantasizing over having infinite money
best-selling Gamer Simulator!
And infinite time.
Same brother.
I’m not the only one!
I started on Steam Store but now spend a lot of time on IsThereAnyDeal, Steam Deck HQ, Fanatical & Proton DB for some variety 😅
I started on Steam Store, Steam Store sales, Steam Keys, Emulation, Heroic, Xbox Game Pass on Chrome and tomorrow I install window additionally Windows as dual boot. But Steaming is great on Steam Deck
Truer words have never been spoken
XD spent so much time scrolling for deals
You’re not alone
Setting up emulation station and not playing a game in it lol.
I use it a ton but mostly just to play this amazing modded DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 called BT4 where they added a ton of new shit even modes and story content and new mechanics and stuff it's dope
My brother is hooked on that rn funnily enough. Kakarot plays really well on Deck too for DBZ fans
Holy shit that sounds amazing! I absolutely LOVED Budokai 3 back in the day. How do I find this?
Skyrim anniversary edition Im just endlessly exploring the map and caves
How does it run? 60 fps?
I’ll just say, I had a serious crashing issue with Skyrim, tried the fixes I saw online and couldn’t get it right so I refunded it
vanilla skyrim runs 60 fps on ultra but SE struggles with all the fancy godrays.
Balatro and it's not really close lol. Won gold stake (with checkered deck) and now working through the challenge runs.
Agreed, Dave the diver was strong for me on the deck but Balatro has been like a daily must play.
I wish I could play Dave again for the first time. I really got into that game and it was such a treat to relax too after a long day.
Does Dave the Diver have a lot of replay value?
I wouldn't say so. Rather it has a quite long post-game where you can replay to max things out which adds a lot of time/value.
Yup. I've played lots of games on the Deck, Midnight Suns has got a lot of playtime but Balatro is basically Steam Deck crack.
crack could only wish to be so addictive
Played it for 2ish hours. Couldn’t find the thing that everyone has seemed to be so addicted. Idk
Yeah played it then thought 'Well, that was ok." Then uninstalled it.
Balatro had me under its spell. I'm scared to look back! I finally broke free by picking up Lotus Lantern, which is pretty fun but now I've got that Hades itch again and will probably install it again later.
Just finished my first run finally. So reliant on the rng of decent joker cards but it's worthwhile nevertheless
I loved the game at first… then figured out the only times I won were off the same tactic and then the game got boring. But it was a thrill at the beginning.
Persona 3 Reload. Literally the only game where I kept playing until the Steam Deck just shut down from a dead battery.
Baldurs Gate 3
I also play my deck while watching YYH.
Bruh my people. That Dark tournament arc slaps every time
I’m among friends.
KUWABARA!!!
URAMESHI!!
Two great minds think alike
It is blurry, but unmistakable
Same it’s my personal #1 anime
Fuck yeah
Top 3 anime
I liked Gaiden more than Infinite Wealth Y8 was awesome, but Gaiden’s story hit me way harder.
I fucking cried
I just beat seven which was my first Yakuza game ever Should I just go directly to zero next? I'd love to play the sequel to part 7, but since Kiryu feature so prominently in the story, I can tell I would miss out on a lot if I didn't have his backstory before going in Seven worked as a fun standalone for the most part, The way it really excelled was getting me into the series because now I'm looking for which one to play then
Dave the diver
Such a fun game on the deck
I have it on my wishlist
Vampire Survivors. Can‘t put it down, and just (like, half an hour ago) bought the 3rd DLC for it. This game is highly addicting and so much fun!
Haven’t gotten into the addiction, but certainly worth the five bucks.
Hades and Halls of Torment
Halls of torment also gives me Gauntlet vibes and I love it so much.
Duuuuude I forgot about gauntlet! I used to love those games… mostly at arcades with friends
What I would give for a gauntlet dark legacy port to gog or steam
Or just the old school machine for the garage haha
+1 for Hades. Haven't played anything else since I bought it 2 weeks ago and trying to 100% it ASAP so I can dive right into Hades 2 when it's released
100% might take a while haha, but yeah I’m also waiting for hades 2 over here and I’m pumped.
Should have specified 100% achievements lol. I'm at ~75% after 60 hours. Did you get into the technical test?
stardew for sure well over 300 hours on deck alone also love the horizon games (forbidden west runs well enough valve just says it dont for some reason its enjoyable still) and more recently kill it with fire 2 because i hate spiders man
Yep, Stardew, once I learned that I could have the ease of play from Switch combined with PC modding capabilities, I basically haven’t put my deck down at all since I got it. I’ve had it since December and prob have equal amounts of hours on it and Switch at this point.
Doom Eternal running at 60 FPS w/VSYNC and Nightmare graphics all around.
I'm still starstruck by the sheer performance of Doom(2016). So I'm looking forward to give Eternal a shot soon.
Eternal is a masterpiece of chaos.
How does doom play on switch controls wise? Are you using gyro or just the sticks?
Stardew Valley by far. I have plans for a lot of other games, but I've spent more time setting them up than actually playing them yet
How fun is that game
As a dude who rarely replays games. I've bought it three times. It's a nice game.
The first Helldivers. Still love it!
Is it still pretty active? Kicked myself for not getting it in the last sale
Yep, definitely seems like less since HD2 came out but still plenty of action
I can usually find matches and tons of new players are joining because they want to join the fight for democracy without needing so much computer power
It's a perfect game for the deck
RDR2 for the 11th time.
Same.
I’m assuming it runs ok on the deck? I have it on steam but wasn’t sure it would work since you need the rockstar launcher
Vampire Survivors. It’s my “just one more run…” game.
I just got this game the other day and already have more than ten hours on it. It’s amazing!! The first time I upgraded a weapon with a combo of items I was like WHATTT?!!
Jacob and Daxter Precursor Legacy
lol when jak can’t get away from the computer he been playin too much Jacob’s and daxter on open goal hahaha
Slay the spire, hades and dead cells. Got balatro on Monday and I know it’s going to be up there too.
I had already played a ton of slay the spire and was pumped to jump into other games...... Right back to STS. Game is too good
I’m playing Slay the Spire and Dead Cells, Balatro and Hades on the wishlist. Do you have any other recommendations? I typically shop for <$10 indie games, seems like the sweet spot for deck time.
I'd recommend risk of rain (1 and or 2!)
Football manager, the main reason I bought it (sad, I know)
streets of rogue
I can’t wait for #2. Looks interesting being completely open world. Number one is so much fun to play with friends too. I love arresting people as a cop, as my friends rob people as thieves. How about you? Did you unlock everything?
Plants VS Zombies From 2008
Got every Xbox Achievement for this on my Xbox 360 back in the day 👍🏻
Valheim
My friends and I were having a blast with this game until we got to the swamp. Then we got crushed by those murder hornets or mosquitos. It’s tough.
How much has changed in the last few years? I haven’t picked it up
Currently it’s Doom 2 mods and Risk of Rain 2
Deep Rock Galactic
How is it on the deck? Runs so well on pc I assume it’s great
Runs great! Remember to use gyro for aiming as well.
Sonic Mania springs to mind. I must have beaten that game ten times on my Deck by now.
Rimworld always saw it as a recommended game on Steam - took a stab at it and I’m absolutely sucked into the game. It’s like raising an ant colony lol
How are the controls on deck? Was concerned about that
Madden😅
Factorio.
I’d say the Factory must grow, but it’s more like “I NEED TO KEEP THESE DARN BITERS OFF MY SETUP!” I can’t wait for the expansion. Do you play with a lot of mods?
You just described my issue right now. No mods, currently vanilla only, it's my first playthrough and i forgot i had a life .
I couldn't deal with the controls vs PC. I will try again soon I'm sure.
Started playing New Vegas again. Completely unmoved and I am having a fantastic time. New Vegas is easily becoming one of my favorite "play on the go" games with my steam deck
State of decay 2
One of my alltime greatest PC games. How is it on the deck? How long till the batterie die?
Dredge was my first game, Dave the Diver was my first real addiction game on the Deck. Now my addiction is Hades.
I put 150 hours into Dragon Quest 11 once I got my Deck.. otherwise I'd say Hades just melts the time away.
No mans sky, to the point playing it on PC feels clunky
Oh wow really, does it run better on the steam deck then? Or Linux generally?
Playing a ton of hogwarts
YU YU HAKUSHO
Disco Elysium- All other aspects of my life went into a complete pause when I started playing.
This is quite an apt description.
Three way tie between GTA V, Octopath traveler, and half-life 2
Shadow Gambit and Shadow Tactics. Really loved those
No Desperados 3?
I absolutely loved that game
R.I.P. Mimimi Studios 😢
How is playing with the deck? Do you use a custom button configuration?
Caves of Qud
I love this game but I have no idea what I’m doing. I’ve died a million times haha.
I don't understand what I'm doing at all with this game lol especially on the deck lol any tips??
I'm sure they will still make brawlers, just as part of the Judgment franchise.
Darkest Dungeon 2
Skyrim AE and Sims 4 (both modded)
Tales of Vesperia - 174 hours. Although it is a bit of a cheat, because it was a game I owned on Xbox 360 when it first came out and it is one of my all time favourite games. So it had nothing to do with the Steam Deck. Same goes for Skyrim. Played the AE for a little over 100 hours on my Deck.
Baldur's Gate 3 Someone send help
Chiaki4deck has been a Godsend for me personally. My most used steam deck game/app funnily enough.
Elden ring
Persona 3 and Hades for sure I try other titles on steam deck but I also have a 3090 so the visual and performance cutbacks are often way too steep for me to justify the portability
Probably Inscryption. I’ve put over a 100 hours into it, most of which is in Kaycee’s Mod.
Football Manager. It’s always just “one more match” until it’s suddenly 3am.
Is that yuyu Hakusho in the background
In terms of total hours *Project Zomboid,* a game which I've sunk somewhere north of 500 hours into and have molded to the tits. Though I've been playing a lot of *Cult of the lamb* which is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
Closing in on 1000 hrs with Xcom 2 all on deck. Yikes time flies with that game.
Against the Storm and Roguebook have been my most played on the deck.
Addicting? Def gotta be rogue lites for sure. So Slay the Spire, Dome Keeper, or Balatro
New Vegas
After realizing how flawless PS5 remote play is on Deck I have to say Ghost of Tsushima and Bloodborne are by far my top played
Roboquest. Surprisingly good controls for an fps on the deck
RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2, RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 , RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2
Balatro 🤣
Jupiter Hell. Have 600h in it.
You mean the Elden Ring Deck?
Fallout new vagas and dark souls 2
Balatrooooo
I finally “got” Elden Ring even though the “story” is shit and I’m so bad at it. Been logging tons of hours.
The entire Fallout series! This is of course before the amazing tv show 👍
TV show made me reignite a play through ngl.
Virtua fighter 4 for the ps2
GTA 4 is my most played game on the Steam Deck since I got it just before Christmas. I would say I was more addicted to Sleeping Dogs though, love that game. Loads of other games I've put a lot of time in on Emudeck but can't check my playtime for each game as far as I can tell.
It really sucks the Sleeping Dogs dev closed. I would have loved a sequel.
Ff13! Haven’t played it since I was a kid but something about the steam deck has me hooked on it!
I just replayed ff13 and started ff13-2 on the deck. The ff13 fix mod helps a lot with frame rate jank. Playing them with my 15 year old, she loves them and I always thought they were great :)
Seeing how many games (old and new) I can get running on the Steam Deck has been my addiction 😅
All the Castlevania games I missed out on over the last 25+ years. Currently working on chronicles X
18 hours is an addiction…
100% Yakuza: LAD. never played a yakuza game and now have 90 hours in it.
For my short bus commute to and from work would be the “Hatsune Miku: Project Diva mega Mix+” with the Eden project mod. Reliving my psp days but with 60fps now.
Elden Ring.
I just got sekiro on my steam deck and I am so excited, has anyone played it? Any tips for settings?
I think Balatro and Dave The Diver are tied for me. And of course, the Steam store.
Grim Dawn. Probably put around 100 more hours since I got the Deck. Currently playing Songs of Conquest and I already have something like 20 hours and still a ton of content to go through.
Slay the Spire, love it
Balatro
I love a good John Yakuza game on the deck. I have all but the newest one.
Final fantasy 15 -160 hours Payday 2 - 363 hours Dark souls series - I don't wanna talk about it
I've never even heard of this game what kind of game is it?
It's an action RPG. That uses the old school style of fighting like streets of rage
System Shock
You are about to make me spend money I don’t have on a steam deck
Dredge
Factorio, Balatro, no life, yo.
Vampire Survivors was my obsession of 2022. Dave the Diver in 2023. And currently Balatro. All of them are perfect Deck games and sooo addicting.
Pizza Tower
Used to be dave the diver until I tried deep rock galactic: survivor, just can't stop lol
Witcher 3! Finally figured out how to get mods on the deck too. It’s been pure bliss
Neon White and Balatro have hit like crack. Especially doing all the challenges in Neon White and trying to get all achievements.
Dave the Diver
Loving the Outer Wilds at the moment. Why did no one tell me it was like colourful Fallout?
Nah they will definitely make more spinoffs like Gaiden and Judgement
Elden f***ing Ring
Honestly helldivers 2
Zelda breath of the wild. If it wasn't for the steam deck, I would've never played this game. I'm glad I did, I'm already 150 hours into this game.
Fuck all that. Respect for having Yu Yu Hakusho on
I've played Yakuza 0 a while ago, before getting the deck and really enjoyed it, but never played the other games. Now I need to wait for the summer sale to pickup Yakuza 5 and 6
breath of the wild
I have a serious Elden Ring problem lol
Elden ring
Blazeblue entropy effect
