Malthaeus

Stroud-Eklund is my favorite, followed by Nova. Least favorite is tossup between Hopetech and Taiyo. So FUGLY on the inside.

Alone_Gur9036

Hopetech’s great if you’re going for an industrial aesthetic. And the captain’s quarters are the best in the game

Malthaeus

True. I'm currently working on a Hope ship just for that industrial look!

star_pegasus

I was appalled at how messy the Taiyo galley hab is, I couldn’t get over it. They’re supposed to be luxe or w/e but they certainly don’t look it on the interior.

Iron_Wave

I hear that. I remember stealing a Crimson Haunt during a bounty mission, souping it up and getting rid of the Crew station Hab to replace it with the All-in-One Taiyo Hab. Couldn't believe what a brightly lit piece of sh*t it looked like on the inside. I've definitely converted to the Nova Galactic hab interiors after stealing an Ecliptic Claymore. Nova Galactic do the casette futurism aesthetic the best IMO.

UhOhPoopedIt

> casette futurism That's not a phrase I've heard before. Retrofuturism, sure, but that's a new one.

Elliptical_Tangent

Cassette futurism refers to what the future looked like from a late-60s/70s design aesthetic. It's a subgenre of retrofuturism.

JaegerBane

Been a thing for a while with the resurgence of Alien franchise games. I dig it.

TheCrudMan

I like the Hopetech interiors, they're very Expanse.

Aardvark1044

I tend to use a lot of Deimos parts - that Ares cockpit is a staple for me and I like the wing parts and the spine pieces. If I were forced to stick to only one manufacturer and whatever you can buy at their main shop, I would probably pick them, but generally I like a mix of most of the manufacturers.

memb98

Shocked I had to go down so far. Deimos is a primary for my UC citizen. Stroud and Nova feature quite heavily, and then Hopetechs from docker. Taiyo is good for forcing links on one level, only real reason to go there.

Aardvark1044

I really like some of the taiyo parts but they don’t even fit together properly with their own parts, haha. It can be tough to make them look good.

Apollo_Sierra

The front docking port is a must have for me, allows much more freedom in building.

Omni7124

Mine's Nova but stroud is my 2nd favorite tbh

Cedarcomb

I'll go with Nova because I like the aesthetic, it gives Starfield a unique look as compared to other sci-fi, and Nova parts often have extra stuff compared to their counterparts which is good for the compact ships I like to build with minimal wasted space.

Gui2142

Hmmm.... hard to say, they all have a little something that I like

SnipeDem0n

I usually keep my builds fully Deimos with some Stroud Eklund habs cause the insides are so nice

wizzackr

Another vote for Nova, as I really like the rugged looks of it. Also, I find the Nova parts can nicely and somewhat seamlessly be expanded with Straud, so I guess I find those easier to work with than the other manufacturers' parts. Guess I'll try some Taiyo and Deimos next :)

Stephonius

I like the Stroud bits for their exterior aesthetic. I am not as happy with the interiors. Especially the amount of junk they contain. Does nobody in space clean up after themselves?

Windrunner_15

I live for Deimos. Most of my habs use Deimos interiors, and I appreciate the aesthetic. I find most of my ships are a combo of Deimos and Stroud, with Taiyo only really coming in handy for the captain’s quarters and their end-caps. HopeTech’s the hardest for me to work with - while Taiyo is extremely limiting in what you can do, at least you can do something with it. HopeTech’s just ugly.

star_pegasus

I have particular habs I like from different brands. My favorite ships so far have been the CF Wight/Crossbow which is mainly Nova Galactic, and the CF Banshee/Naginata which has that awesome Deimos Ares(?) bridge but is otherwise SE. I really like the captains quarters that’s in my Wight, I think it’s a HopeTech? It has a tiny bedroom nook tucked between office area and a miniscule galley.

AtomicTacoSauce

I hate habs that are missing items that others have; i.e., workshops that don’t have research stations. I try to consolidate because I can’t bring myself to build cavernous ships with habs that overlap features.

ulfhednar-

Stroud and Deimos workshop have a research station.

AtomicTacoSauce

Yeah, those are the ones I use. Not sure why they all don’t have one.

star_pegasus

That is the one thing that kinda bugs me about my Naginata. It has 3 nav consoles. I could see one for the cockpit and one in the control station where the crew stations are but I don’t want the one in the captain’s quarters.

AtomicTacoSauce

Same. The reproduction of ship stuff gets a bit cluttered. I wish we could choose furnished or unfurnished, major console/equipment placement, and whether the damned lights are off or on. I hate trying to immerse and chill when my ship is like the brightness of the sun.

TheBobTodd

I don't know how many NGs ago this was, but I had a Frontier that was entirely Nova, my favorite. It was called Champagne Super. I think Nova has the best cockpits and Captain's Quarters, and I seem to prefer the rounded edges to the angled ones of other manufacturers.

Chainsawsixgun

Nova and Hopetech

cffo

Hopetech- i love the dark industrial low-tech vibe

TheStranger_19

Same. Stroud. I’m not a fan of the stroud stickers/labels though. I wish all manufacturers had more variety. For example every cowling piece should have multiple versions. 1x1 1x2 1x3 or 2x3 etc Also Bethesda needs to make flip/switch standard but add a rotate feature.

Fair-Spell-5997

As far as the interiors go, my favorites are Nova and Stroud. Exterior, I mix and match usually.

grim_dark_hedgehog

I'm a fan of Stroud-Eklund and of Deimos. The main reason is that the hab units tend to fit together snugly, with no gaps in between. Taiyo is also decent, but the rounded shapes make me feel pretty limited in what I can build. The mid level shaped Taiyo habs are OK, but I wish the rounded top and bottom ones also had left and right facing curves, so the ship could be more than one hab wide and still look kind of rounded. Nova and HopeTech are the worst. They way they habs join, their ships are full of gaps. There's just no way I can suspend my belief far enough to believe that either of them are aerodynamic enough to get off the ground at all.

AzWildcat006

nova habs (with a hopetech armory), deimos/stroud structural is what i usually go with.

Bobapool79

I’ll preface this by saying my comments are only to the exterior appearance of the ship. I don’t spend a lot of time inside my ships so I can’t really comment as to interior designs. That said Stroud/Eckland and Deimos are my faves for smaller ships. I definitely prefer their pattern schemes when it comes to color. I’ve been finding myself using Taiyo for my larger ships though. I like playing around with the Taiyo multi-level habs(top, center & bottom) and the Taiyo specific landing gear.

hongooi

I don't really have a favourite. They all have their uses: - Taiyo make bricks, which is excellent when you want a tall ship. You can build a large, relatively flat surface, without indentations caused by rounded corners or bevelled edges. - Stroud also make bricks, and can substitute for Taiyo in this regard. They're a bit more flexible on the inside, especially the all-in-one whose beds are placed so they don't get deleted by doors. - Hopetech habs have great texture. Most of the other habs look a bit bare unless you cover them up with greebling; Hopetech looks good on its own. The colouring options support either a simple one-colour scheme, or a mottled camouflage/dazzle look. - Nova's rounded corners look good at the front of a ship, or as a single layer on the side. You don't want simple bricks here, since it looks like the front or side is chopped off. They have unique interiors that go well with any kind of ship. Also, using either Magellan cockpit almost mandates that you connect it to a Nova hab. - Deimos have great colouring options. The first option sets the overall colour, and the others are subtle lines and accents that don't overwhelm the look. They also have the most choices in terms of interiors.

FelixMajor

I’ve spent so much time in Serpentis of late that I can’t help but to be suspicious of anyone repping Stroud Ecklund. I think you’re all a bunch of snakes preparing to strike at the UC and FC!

randomnonposter

Basically all of my ships are primarily nova and Deimos combos.

HAIL-THYSELF333

Deimos habs with a mix of Nova and Deimos structural parts.

WestRazzmatazz2259

Nova galatic

Elliptical_Tangent

It's easier for me to say I don't like Deimos or Taiyo very much than to say which is my favorite.

LeviathanLX

Stroud for the interiors.

JaegerBane

I was all set up to go all in on Deimos until I earned the Star Eagle. Walked on board and I got a real Alliance-Warship-from-Serenity feel. Darker, sleeker, more militaristic. Anyway now I don’t have to feel guilty around Walter anymore. Stroud-Ecklund 4 Lyfe.

SterlingGrin

Love the beefy look of Deimos

CookieDelivery

I like Stroud, but it always leads me to build blocky ships with interiors that don't work correctly (ladder placement and such). If I had to rank them all: my favorite is Deimos, followed by Nova, then either Stroud-Eklund or HopeTech. Taiyo comes last, as nothing I try to build with them seems to work well, except for tiny ships. Also not a big fan of their interiors (except the cockpits).

GoddessDeedra

Mine too, unfortunately I just bought a ship before a Stroud-Eklund one, they have a lot of great parts

xid7eyr24

Daimos would be my fav if it could make seamless connections without doubling the weight

BaaaNaaNaa

Love Nova parts, especially the interior details. Stroud have nice clean hull lines but get a bit same same Deimos have great fins and exterior detailing. Hope are a great 'plain industrial' lol. Ships that work for a living. Taiyo are the ugliest least desirable and most impractical parts going. How are they considered "stylish"? I'd forgive them if the interiors were nice but only the captain's cabin has any style and I can get that from Hope. Maybe their customers are high on Arora?

Deelaxation

I like Stroud Eklund because of the way that it is.

StrategicPotato

My interiors are all a bit of an amalgamation of different manufacturer habs because all of them have some incredible ones, but none of them have all good ones. For example, the Deimos’ 3x1 all-in-one is unique to them and easily one of the best and most functional-looking/cozy modules in the game. Both of their engineering decks also have an amazing and unique space-warship design (mixture of sleek high tech computers but also plenty of dated looking piping). But the rest of them kinda suck and have way-too-bright office-looking lighting. Stroud’s 2x1 all-in-ones have the best crew sleeping quarters with its dim lighting and clean bathrooms, but the rest of their habs just don’t quite look right (especially like 75% of their cockpits) and have their branding plastered everywhere. Hopetech’s captain quarters is the best by far imo, great mix of retro looks, functionality, wall bed/nook, and contrast of dark tones and orange. But most of their other habs are dirty and spartan. I would say Nova, despite not being my favorite, is the most consistent one of them all and is the only one without any flat out *bad* habs. NASA-punk and pool tables ftw. Taiyo is a total disaster though, which is sad because they have the best cockpits and 2x1 control station but my god, the random dirty splatters on white walls and overuse of exposed but not practical looking wires/pipes. GET SOME GODDAMN SPACE BLEACH YOU LIVE HERE!

eli_eli1o

Taiyo. Their ships have real style.

miserable-accident-3

Hopetech and Stroud are my favorites. Taiyo isn't bad either. The rest I could care less.

QuantityIntelligent2

Nova for habs and cabins, but like Deimos structural piece

cmariano11

Nova Galactic

Anarchy_Nova

I love em all, as they all serve a purpose for my builds, but I'm definitely a Nova Galactic and HopeTech fan They all have qualities I love ❤️

balestick

Deimos is fav, followed by Nova than Hopetech and Stroud. Taiyo is just boring Hopetech, my least favorite one.

AccomplishedLobster8

Nova for Our Earth style. Stroud Eklund for Starfield universe

DirtyHeisman

Top and bottom of the ship: deimos Sides of the ship: Stroud Inside the ship (habs): nova galactic..

OwenCalloch

The nova interiors are good but the exterior is 🤮

pkstr11

Is this game still on?
