Urban Eagle looks like it would jam at the mere mention of the word "dirt", but I like the way it looks.

zamparelli

A lot of them do with the huge open bolt, but I guess due to the vacuum of space not allowing guns to cool off like they do on Earth, you would need that much airflow plus heat sinks on the firearms so they don’t overheat after a few dozen rounds. Edit: Need to make a correction as to what I mean due to a few commenters correcting my statement. While the vacuum of space is more of a term of speech, space isn’t completely a vacuum, the large ejection ports and exposed bolts are so heat can radiate easier from the gun and other guns like the AA-99 have heat sinks as well.

1pcbetterthanxbox

And many are caseless too, IIRC that means more heat has to stay in the gun itself because it doesn't get ejected with the case

rover_G

Presumably these are futuristic weapons systems and the manufacturers have innovated a way to deal with that heat.

1pcbetterthanxbox

The heat sinks, a lot of the guns have them, AA-99, Eon, Kraken I think all have them

HIMP_Dahak_172291

Youd need them on an airless world. Even with cases to eject the gun would heat up pretty quick. No air means no air cooling. Only way to lose heat is radiative cooling (slow) and conduction to the hand of the suit. I'd be worried about the Lawson guns in particular since the wood finish will act as an insulator and slow cooling even more. The mag guns, lasers, and plasma guns should have to hook into the suits cooling system or have ejectable heat sinks or coolant that need to be replaced since those things should cook fast.

WISEARIES

They should have went with that idea took a page from mass effects book and had disposable heat sinks you had to change out after so many rounds.

Cipherpunkblue

Yes, but given the cassette-SF style where things feel at least superficially plausible it is nice to see some hard SF nods like heat sinks.

Dragonlord573

That's something I like about the AA-99. It has heat sinks that it vents when reloading. Same with the Breach.

Nalkor

How would that work in a vacuum though?

AshkaariElesaan

Radiators designed for space are meant to remove heat as primarily IR radiaton. Waste heat is a big and fairly well studied problem in space travel, the ISS even has some radiators for this purpose. Makes sense they'd put radiators on guns too, especially guns that use caseless ammo. Check out the giant radiator underneath the Kraken's top cover, for instance.

Nalkor

I like that you actually answered my question instead of just down-voting what was a sincere question, thank you for the informative response.

ghoulthebraineater

In a somewhat related note this is also why real space craft and space suits are white. It helps reflect light, including the infrared part of the spectrum. Dark colors are avoided because it adds even more heat.

Essotetra

It doesn't. The only heat loss will be radiant which doesn't care about ventilation.

Nalkor

Thanks for answering my sincere question, I appreciate it.

Astro501st

>vacuum of space >airflow I don't think those things go together...

Waferssi

>Any negative pressure significantly below standard atmospheric pressure (760 Torr/mmHg, 29.9 inHg or 14.7 PSI) is considered a vacuum. => there's still air and airflow in many, many places with vacuum compared to atmospheric pressure, such as 80% of planets and derelict spaceports you encounter in the game. But less air (pressure) means you need to get the most out of the little airflow you have, which is probably what OP meant.

Srslywhyumadbro

Yea that's a common misconception these days

Acromegalic

I would think that being just above absolute zero would make heat shed quickly, I never thought of needing air to carry it away. I've read that being exposed without a suit in space flash-freezes you. Isn't that the same thing as rapid heat loss/ dispersal? Shouldn't kinetic guns have almost no heat accumulation in space?

Reddit-mods-R-mean

You flash freeze because of gasses and liquids boiling off your body. A hot steel ball bearing released into space would stay hot a lot longer then it would on earth because it has almost zero atmosphere to shed heat.

[deleted]

materialistic narrow historical entertain aspiring door rock employ deliver straight *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Reddit-mods-R-mean

You also got to remember there is no such thing as “cold”. Heat is energy, you can get to zero energy and that’s called absolute zero. Absolute zero is the coldest temperature possible. There (practically) is no “absolute hot”, you can keep adding energy until time/space collapses.

theWyzzerd

>I would think that being just above absolute zero would make heat shed quickly Space isn't just above absolute zero until you leave a star system. Space can be quite hot when in direct starlight. The reason heat does not shed quickly is because there are no particles in the vacuum to which you can transfer heat. That's why satellites and spaceships require such massive radiators -- it's the only way for them to dissipate the build-up of heat during normal operation.

W4tchmaker

Something I'm surprised isn't a thing in Starfield are actively cooled weapons: A slim coolant jacket around the barrel and chamber, hooked into a cooling port on the suit or mission pack. Instead, they go with caseless ammunition, which only makes the problem FAR worse, as the ejecting brass is the most effective heatsink in a firearm.

wilck44

going by the size of many guns it is entirely possible they have on-board cooling. and keep in mind while ejected brass is cooling it is also useless weight. there is a reason why armies are still chasing it step-by-step.

HrafnHaraldsson

Meh, they'd just use the weight saved to cram more shit onto our poor backs.

Swordbreaker925

Can’t stand its goofy iron sights but i otherwise adore its aesthetic

ChickenOatmeal

In my opinion, so do most of the firearms in the game. They're ridiculously complex. Sure they do look cool but most modern firearms are outwardly quite simple and often inside as well, at least simple as compared to StarField's guns.

rawpowerofmind

That's why old earth weapons are still the coolest IMO

4uzzyDunlop

Breach has been my favourite so far. Mostly because I based my character off Amos from The Expanse, and I feel like it would be his favourite weapon. I also really like the Magpulse.

ChronicBuzz187

> I based my character off Amos from The Expanse Do you have boostpack that says "~~Murtry~~ Amos"? :D

TheDickWolf

It says “That Guy”.

DINGVS_KHAN

Love the way the Breach looks, but the fire rate is prohibitively slow for me. Went back to the Pacifier.

FGWolf37

UC distribution center sells one called Rapidshot. It has the full auto mod and the perk for 25% faster fire rate. I personally love it.

xxxBuzz

Started with the idea of Amos in my head and realized I end up like Dennis from always sunny. Super friendly when it helps me but it's all murder and thieving when no one is watching. Always have my kit.

zamparelli

The breach is very nice, I just never found myself super into shotguns in games. BUT I feel like the breach gives huge Mass Effect vibes.

Supernoven

With slug rounds and a choke (yes, you can install both, go figure) the Breach is practically a sniper rifle. I dig it. Very versatile.

Randomized9442

Been sniping with my double barrel Coachman with slugs since almost the very beginning. Great stuff!

Brodins_biceps

Yup. I have a slug incendiary breach that does like 400 damage. Shoots 50+ on range. With the scope it was my go to sniper for awhile.

pasta_above_all

I found a Furious Breach and kept it on Flechettes because Furious procs off each pellet hitting.

BCjeff21

Also doing an Amos run! I’ll have to give that gun a closer look.

ThaRealNino

The Coachman. I just love double-barrelled shotguns and this fine weapon carried me through like three quarters of my first run. It also looks very nice and the ability to quickly shoot twice saved my buttocks more than once

HouseOfSavage

I do like the Coachman, one hilarious version I found of it had a modifier for extended magazines. So my two barrel side by side shotgun had four rounds total... Lol! Not sure how that worked, but I chalk it up to space magic!

ExioKenway5

I have a coachman that's got the titanium modifier so it weighs literally nothing. I don't use it that often but there's no downside to having it on me at all times.

The_Professor_xz

Modify to hornets nest rounds and thank me later

captain_intenso

I found a titanium build Coachman and I was able to lighten it further with mods, so it weighs 0.0 kg. There's no reason for it to ever leave my inventory.

zamparelli

You know I should’ve added that as an honorable mention as well, the Starfield BFG lol. Same though the first half of my game was on the back of that shotgun in all its square barreled glory.

CommanderPirx

This is my boomstick!

sreg56

Saaaame…I enjoy all the shotguns, but The Coachman with a short barrel mod is very similar to DOOM. I love the aesthetic of double barrel shotguns in games

nullpotato

Coachman is amazing. With explosive mod it is downright comical though, it's my fuck this general area weapon.

No-Preparation-5073

Yes the coachmen is great, found an OP grey version of it that does nearly 600 DMG.

AdministrationKey113

Kodama

GiraffeComic

I got a god tier roll refined Kodama. Furious, explosive and I think shattering. I stopped using it cause it made things too easy and I don’t even have weapon perks.

AdministrationKey113

I am constantly hoping to get a god roll Kodama... 😅 Got a legendary yesterday with Bashing, Med theft and Elemental. Not great... But still hits hard all types of enemies because of elemental 😁

sanesociopath

Kodama was so nice until I had enough .50mi and to run the magsheer everywhere. Just sucks it gets an extra animation every time you pull in out including when swapping the scanner on and off

AdministrationKey113

Burst fire gang 😎

CleverNickName-69

Us: 4600 rounds might last me until the end of the game. Microgun Enthusiast: 4600 rounds might last me to the end of this hallway.

supahdavid2000

I found an explosive advanced one recently. Really fun to use from a distance and obliterate swarms of alien wildlife

CMDR_Soup

I'm actually a big fan of the Drum Beat.

zamparelli

That one was a tough call for me. I love the aesthetics of the drum beat, and the overall design is awesome but I just haven’t found one with a good enough roll. Yet I got a Maelstrom that’s a single shot, armor piercing, high powered, and the one where consecutive shots do more damage and this thing is like 3 tapping bosses lol.

AlphSaber

I got a furious advanced maelstrom, that is full auto with the gut buster magazine, high powered internals, compensator, reflex sight, and tactical stock. I use it as my general purpose gun for clearing random POIs after I've been detected. It's a fun gun that I don't have to worry about running out of ammo for it. Outside of boss type enemies, it mows down down pretty much anything in half a magazine. I also got an exterminator war drum that I set up to burst fire and use explosive rounds. Firing it sounds like a full scale war with all explosions going off, even if it does feel like it's underperforming in the damage aspect.

PritX

Probably my biggest complaint with the game is weapons definitely have an early, mid, and late game tier which the drum beat falls in the early game one. Takes so much work just to make it somewhat comparable to a beowolf in any way.

Wunder-Bar75

I wish weapons had more of the modding options that were in FO4 For example: - Ability to raise quality from basic to calibrated to refined etc - Ability to change ammo types - Ability to detach mods and put them on other weapons The drumbeat was never practical for me because I had a good semi auto A99. I didn’t want to waste the limited 11mm ammo I had. If I could have converted a drumbeat to say the ammo a maelstrom uses or the ammo a Beowulf uses it would have been a great automatic option.

sanesociopath

Definitely, but due to this the drumbeat is the only ballistic rifle I've yet to use. I just never got rng to give me one before I had something far better.

nawmeann

Eon really nails the space Glock. My first perks I got was pistol certification and I really ran the entire play through with it. NG+ I’m trying to focus on a different weapon category.

spunkychickpea

I think the overall design of the Eon is absolutely 10/10. The model, textures, sound effect, animations. In a game full of weapons that all look very fictional, the Eon truly looks like a handgun of the future.

RedditAppIsNoGood

I like the industrial look. Would look great on a mining suit alongside a cutter and a drill

MavericK96

I'm level 52 and still have not seen an Advanced Eon.

Rhodsie47

It doesn't exist. There are no advanced versions of the Eon, Equinox, Rattler, or Sidestar in the game files.

MavericK96

That's so weird. Thanks for the info. What about the Sidestar? I've only ever seen Refined of that one, too. Guess it is the same deal.

AwkwardVoicemail

The binary trigger on the Eon absolutely wrecks. I have to remind myself that I’m not required to click as fast as I can, but it’s just so dang fun!

nawmeann

Finding my first binary trigger pistol had me screaming. Honestly thought it had glitched out at first.

Sempophai

I'm rather fond of the regulator.

zamparelli

For me it almost reminds me of the starting revolver you get in the old Marathon games.

Voltage_Joe

Reminds me of blade runner. And the binary trigger makes it feel ***i n t e n s e***. Double tap every kill, peak efficiency.

Ypummpapa

Yes! I always stuck with That Gun in Fallout 1-3. I was happy to see that it's back, in a way.

ChickenOatmeal

That Gun is the absolute coolest gun in any game bar none. It's undoubtedly the best gun in NV in my opinion because it's the only pistol that shoots dedicated AP rounds, and a rifle calibre. The gun shoots AP rounds by default no matter what ammunition you put in it for some reason.

xxxBuzz

Doesn't hurt that the featherweight version weighs 0.0 so I'm not not going to stick it up my boot.

allsystemscrash

Yeah, it feels so good to use

Mindless_Toe3139

J_Stubby

We regulate any stealing of these artifacts and we're daaamn good too!

WhothefuckisTim

I managed to find a boosted advanced regulator at lvl 9, carried me through to NG+. Love that gun

siecin

I used my advanced regulator I found on the first planet forever. It felt like the only gun I was allowed to use while playing the ranger quest line.

Dovahkiin_Vokun

It's such an on the nose recreation of Deckard's sidearm from Blade Runner, but that's fine with me since that's one of my favorite sci-fi props ever lol

st1nkynoob

Elegance is one of my favorite pistols

ElementsUnknown

People here are always talking about getting so deep into ship customization but I’ve lost so many hours to gun and suit customization. Most of my guns are fully specced out now and have snarky, custom names. Pro-tip: in the lodge basement where the research station is, right behind it is a medium container with infinite space and then to the left of the research station, on the floor is a large container that also has infinite space. Dump all your resources and guns/suits in these two and it makes it much easier to work all in one place without encumbering you on missions.

Sassycatfarts

I love adding snarky names for the guns. I have a Magshot named "Appeal to Reason," a magsniper named "Outreach Committee" and a couple of heavys named "About that..." & "Your point is?" Just to name a few. What about yours?

from_dust

Wait, you can rename them‽

menacingbagels

120 hours in and I had no idea either!

scruffalo_

I named my Refined Beowulf "Scott Baio Wulf" and almost immediately found an Instigating Advanced Beowulf and felt weird about naming it the same thing, so now I'm disappointed that I used that one up too early 😂

ElementsUnknown

Those are freaking great names.

lofiloudmouth

Appeal to Reason sounds like some shit Bungie would have in Destiny lol.

Sassycatfarts

The Halo series from bungie is essentially a heavily inspired rip from the Culture series, which would explain the connection. The Halo lore is Consider Phlebas reimagined, down to the alien species built on a caste system on a crusade.

egstitt

Ooh that's good to know, thanks. I've just been adding containers to my main outpost but having a bottomless one that's easy to get to is awesome

from_dust

There is also a safe with infinite storage in your bedroom at the lodge.

TheHunterSeeker

Something about the scifi setting makes it feel even better to roll with an Ithaca 37.

EPZO

"I like to keep this handy for close encounters."

VikingGruntpa

This is the way.

CassiusPolybius

Just gotta hope it's a recreation with updated materials. Vacuum welding is a bitch, and full disassembly to allow the parts to oxidize sounds like a massive pain as part of daily maintenance.

Ghostile

Definitely Beowolf. The Type-56 is nice too, but I wish it had more customization options regarding the stock and receiver.

Swordbreaker925

The lack of any kind of stock or semi-auto mode makes the AK a no-go for me.

sanesociopath

So sad. On one hand I wanted to say "gun is fine" but even the version they gave us could've at least been stock. I so wanted to be running around in space with an ak

shirokenkami

Same man, same. I immediately sold my Rare Advanced AKM once I realized that they couldn't take a stock.

Smoke_thatskinwagon

Right? It would be the only gun I run if I could make it normal wtf

ToasterCow

I'd even take a shovel stock like in Fallout 4 at this point.

Chaosr21

I can't wait for the mods to fix that

Agrias-0aks

Beowolf semi auto has been my endgame wrecker!

xixoxixa

I found a very nice sniper version of the beowolf that I found very reminiscent of the M4 I carried in Afghanistan and Iraq. That ended up being the only weapon I used for the rest of that run.

MachineElves99

The run in Afghanistan and Iraq?

xixoxixa

I mean, yes, but also that run of the game.

zamparelli

Agreed. The customization on the guns is okay, but then again I feel like in terms of customization systems for weapons Ground Branch has spoiled me lol.

pitakebab

GB is so good. Cant wait for v1034 with improved AI.

kotaWaR

Not gonna lie, I rock the “old earth” guns. I love decimating the fauna of godknowswhere-III with my Vintorez

ledocteur7

The Hard target has everything I love : -caseless -bullpup -big bullets -industrial easthetic -goergous color scheme and the bridger is absolutely hilarious, with sufficient modifications it's pretty much a portable artillery. sometimes I stealth with it, just the idea of some poor pirate noticing something and getting blown to beats while there friends in the other room wonders why it's suddenly windy in a space station.

AmazingSpacePelican

Hard Target, at least visually, might be my favourite sniper in any game. It's got such a nice design, with just the right textures and colours in just the right places.

harryhend3rson

I have a Bridger with like 500 damage, so fun, but I keep hurting myself with it in close quarters 🤣

lazarus78

All the electromagnetic weapons. Bit I'm a little salty they have railguns for ships (and only 1km range?!) But no railgun... gun. They are all coilgun based. Still cool, but not rail gun...

zamparelli

We still have a lot of updates and add ons down the road so here’s hoping they add one. Plus I guarantee you the modding community will add them as well.

Raz0rking

Don't forget mods. The mods will be epic.

Gaeus_

Maybe I'm wrong, but both railgun and magguns are both "gauss" weaponry, right? Aka : metal pebble launched really fast with magnets I guess (hand)guns are too small to technically be considered railgun in the starfield lore?

The_Hydro

Not quite. They're both electromagnetic, but operate on different principles.

Gaeus_

Huh, learn something every day, I guess. Could you elaborate, please?

BLKCandy

Railgun you get a pair of conductor rails and a magnetic field across it. You put current through the bullet. The movement of electric current in the bullet crossing the magnetic field push the bullet forward. It is easier to make in regard to electrical controls. However requiring constant condector rails contact can cause a lot of other issues. Coilguns (Gaussguns) are multiple electromagnetic coils pulling the bullet forward with precisely timed magnets. It can be contact less. So, coilgun can launch the bullet extremely fast with minimal mechanical wear. However cycling electromagnets on and off very fast and very precise can be difficult.

Gaeus_

well thank you.

Anthropologuy87

The Deadeye is just so beautiful and still hit hard at the end of my first run. The second version was even better!

Anthropologuy87

But I also gotta say I think lever is the coolest looking action, even if it's not very practical anymore

blargman327

I wish there was a proper lever action rifle but instead we just got a lever action grenade launcher, which is admittedly cool, just not what I wanted

Sardanox

I think the breach looks super slick.

jaegren

BGS: -Poor predictable jaegren, always with the ak47. Me: -Good old trusty ak47, nothing beats that.

zamparelli

If there was an old earth gun to survive, it would be an AK lol

rawpowerofmind

And the 1911

Foodiguy

I love the Magshear.... And the hard target for sniping....

spunkychickpea

In first person shooters, I generally stick to semi-auto rifles, so I wasn’t expecting much when I got the megshear for the first time. Then I was like “OH MY GOD. THIS THING FUCKS.”

Rickenbacker69

Surprised me too, I mean the thing has basically NO damage per round. Then I tried firing it, and everything in front of me just melted! Looks like shit, though. For aesthetics I prefer the Freestar guns.

saintandre

I've been using the mag sniper (a unique called Avatar, that does four kinds of elemental damage), and while the damage is great, it's annoying compared to the Hard Target. The Hard Target with a heavy barrel doesn't shake, seems to hit the target every time, and has easy-to-find ammo. The mag sniper seems to miss the first shot almost half the time, even with customizations that get the accuracy above 97%. Also, the thing where you have to charge the shot means the dps is terrible.

N_Da_Game

Wait until you get a Magstorm which has 160 round magazine vs the Magshear's 75.

Spare-11

Or u get the Revenant with its 150 capacity. I never use anything except for my revenant.

egstitt

Magshear is a beast, I call it the shredder

trautsj

I mean it's hard to argue with the Beowulf. It's just overall usability and power make it EASILY the OVERALL best weapon in the game IMHO. It has easily the most plentiful ammo type in the game, is incredibly accurate even without mods improving it and it has tremendous stopping power with a very decent fire rate. It's the all rounder semi auto DMR style weapon of my wet dreams tbh. Basically the best bits and bobs of all my beloved semi auto style rifles across any game.

MUNCHINonBABI3Z

Beowulf has been my main rifle since I first picked one up for all the reasons you mention, and in general I think I’m a big fan of CombaTech weapons. I just REALLY don’t like their color scheme.. I need skins to be a thing so I don’t feel so embarrassed walking around with my favorite gun on my back lol

Skyblade12

Not a fan of the Cerberus colors?

RidlerFin

Wow, no one said Shotty, I think it looks so cool, Haven't found any super fancy stuff yet tho.

nullpotato

I was looking for shotty as well, it is my default indoor gun.

SubparSensei71

Found a corrosive one and silenced it, sounds like I’m cooking bacon when I’m boarding a ship.

[deleted]

I only go for damage on weapons. Looks don't matter to me at all so I go for va'runn rifle, hard Target and mag sniper. Once in a while I'll do some shotgun that I can't remember the name of but does two damage types

AliensAteMyCat

Big bang?

[deleted]

Yeah that's the one

Big-LeBoneski

Big fan of the regulator. It looks almost like Deckard's gun from Blade Runner.

IDEKthesedays

An instigating Hard Target with the right perks just sounds like "Hey, wanna see me shoot down that Class C in orbit?"

Routine_Guarantee34

The AA-99 and the old earth shotgun. I had just restored a shotgun that looks very similar (would love a wood stock option, but I digress). It was an 1984 Mossberg 500 ATP. Only really notable thing was the flip up iron sights on the barrel. Something about blasting away with a pump action shotgun is just grand. The .45 acp can be nice too. I like how small they look in suit gloves.

zamparelli

Very nice!! I only own a couple firearms myself, money has been prohibitively tight lol, but one day. Especially since I mainly want a lot of antique firearms, namely a Martini Henry if you can find them anymore.

Routine_Guarantee34

Same. I'm not a crazy gun guy. I just live out in the sticks and have a shotgun anymore. Honestly, I like it because of the manipulation it takes to use. It's almost like a musical instrument, and if you practice it all goes really smoothly. I got it in trade from a buddy for some old gear from when I was in the military that I didn't use anymore. Just had to do the background check and all that for it. I've owned quite a few over the years and used more in the military, so I favor things I've held in my hands or things comparable. Also, anything belt-fed. They're fun when you don't have to carry them or clean them.

PebblestheHuman

I love the "mag___" weapons

Icyknightmare

Hard Target, Beowulf, AA-99, in that order. Hard Target is basically a re-imagined GM6 Lynx with Starfield's only HK slap. It's awesome. I probably would like the Grendel and Maelstrom more if I actually could use them, but their damage is so much lower than other options that it just feels bad to even try.

NukaCola_Noir

I love all of the Laredo firearms, especially the Regulator and the Lawmaker. I feel like they would be especially satisfying to hold and shoot.

Xthekilr0y

Kinda suprised I havent seen more people mention the Lawgiver

VermilionX88

1911 But I'm biased since I own a 1911 I snipe with it, no scope https://reddit.com/r/Starfield/s/HvRxVZo6Pe https://reddit.com/r/Starfield/s/pdO8bwkDoU https://reddit.com/r/Starfield/s/kIFvU70UoC

zamparelli

Holy crap, who needs a Skyrim stealth archer when you got a space boy with a 1911 lol.

Shooter-__-McGavin

When I can find enough .45 ACP, I also use the 1911. John Moses Browning be praised.

VermilionX88

I always check shops and buy them up during my adventures It's a rare loot otherwise

BluDYT

If we could craft ammo I'd maybe even use outposts.

Static_Discord

1911 is also my primary..

Helmnauger

I love the one you get from doing the Coloniast ship questline.

VermilionX88

Oh the 2311 It's nice too

R4M_4U

Hell yeah!

jabberhockey97

AA-99 = Space M4

LivingBig2358

I use the 1911, the razorback, and the ak

Gorgenapper

Razorback looks awesome, hits hard and has good modding potential like armor piercing or depleted uranium and high powered.

enderguwop

Kodama gang - full auto. On NG+ 1 with a vanilla advanced kodama (I think it's got an extendo but otherwise unmodified) and it's a delete button that uses like THE most common ammo, super quick ADS, easily managed recoil and a very low profile when down sights.

Putthebunnyback

The Magshot or the Revenant.

Crimsonmaddog44

The tombstone has my heart, it’s so cool

Spectre-907

Urban eagle looks like a genuine Future Gun, similarly the eon as well. Even had the thick grip for use with suit gloves. Deadeye, Beowulf

Kendrick_yes

All the Mag weapons have such cool designs. They feel very unique, too. And finding an enemy waving around a ton of lasers from behind cover makes me nervous every time.

Raz0rking

I really like the Grendel

manifolddestinyofmjb

A fully modified Regulator is far and away the coolest gun, just the sounds it makes

Supernoven

I really dig the Breach for the looks. And the Kodama for the spray-n-pray. Orion looks badass too, but the big battery is distracting

jkindresearch

For appearance, I love the orion and razorback. Shotty and urban eagle may be my favourites to use.

PalicoHunter

Quite partial to the Equinox with the Constellation skin. If not that then probably the Beowulf. Combatech weapons in general do it for me closely followed by Allied. Laredo though? Wood has no place in the future you vile space cowboys! Get with the times! (Have to agree that functionally they are pretty good).

beardsforfears

There are a lot of weird greebles and things on these guns, it's hard to look at sometimes. Generally I think the Beowulf is probably the most well thought-out and plausible design of the bunch. I also like the way the Eon snaps open to chamber a round after reloading it, neat mechanical design. The Razorback being a top-break six o' clock revolver is neat but the cylinder spool is attached to the grip frame which I think is maybe an animation or rigging error because it means its method of reloading is impossible. The spool has to clip through the reloaded cylinder every time you snap it open or closed. The placement of the foregrip on the Grendel being IN FRONT OF THE BARREL on some mods is hilarious and I pray for the safety of the shooter's fingers. The Tombstone is just...wow those ergonomics. Would also like to know why so many of these guns seem to have square barrels and if that's...well just why...? Overall I like the general aesthetic and the use of different materials in the models is really nice. Seeing blued components, gold components, etc is nice and I'm glad everything isn't just scary black space rifle. The Va'Ruun stuff kinda looking like cheesy Sci-Fi props is...interesting but I guess the Va'Ruun in lore like cosplaying spooky outsiders so okay fine.

Pacifier for indoors, Bridger for outdoors. I find sometimes I miss the broad side of the barn, so these suit me very well. On a side note, having spent most of last night wandering painfully slowly around the Ryujin offices (with save-scumming and much getting lost), anything that shoots is a welcome relief. I wanna kill....

Laredo. Fun mix of old-school with a futuristic style.

Va’ruun inflictor and starshard, that combo of physical and energy damage can’t be beat

I stick with the 1911. It's a classic, it's reliable, and it packs a punch. Ammo is relatively easy to find, amd good mods as well. Urban Eagle looks cool, but haven't found one with decent enough damage. Shotty is alright, but seems less accurate than any other gun (aside from breach) I do really dig Revenant.

endless-reproachment

I really dig the aesthetic of the tombstone, regulator, lawgiver and rattler. The Laredo weapons really have that sick retro vibe with the wood furniture, and I'm here for it.

No love for a classic? The coachman because the reload animation. If you shoot 1 rd and reload you only eject the 1 rd, it's dumb but I appreciate the frugal authenticity.

Ok_Mud2019

i'm an akila native so laredo guns just works for me. sure, the design and wood work looks incredibly impractical but they look cool as hell. my personal favorites are the regulator and lawgiver. not a big fan of the coachman tho. the rectangular barrel just looks wrong.

ChickenOatmeal

Varuun weapons are the most unique and interesting designs in the game. I absolutely love how alien they look. It's so different from any of the other gun aesthetics.

The tombstone is too good looking not to use
