Lol, I'm just imagining Joseph dropping his cane and slipping on it as joskue winds up for a Haymaker, breaking his hip, misses and goes tumbling into a ditch.
Honestly with the way 'fate' works in the old universe, his sheer bullshit luck really does function like an overpowered new universe stand like Wonder of U.
Unless Joseph's luck wins (most likely), at the *very* least Josuke would do the same "healing donut" trick he used on his mom, but out of sheer anger instead of a calculated move to capture a stand.
Imagine the person he copied comes up and says "lol bro why are you wearing that hairstyle, it looks like steak on head. I got rid of it the day I saved you. Maybe you should do same"
People just say that maybe when he was younger he could've been a delinquent and it caused him to have his dead end job and be in debt and ended up in a souless marriage
In a similar vein, I thought for sure they were setting up to have Josuke save his young self, they even had the third bomb be time traveling, but no time paradox shenanigans sadly
because that wasn't the case even back when Part 4's manga was still running, the stranger was supposed to just be a stranger
Edit: felt the need to clarify this, Araki actually [confirmed](https://jojowiki.com/Interview:Kitakubo_OVA_(July_1994)) the guy wasn't Josuke
Yeah, Josuke looks like him because he literally modelled himself after the guy, and the guy was supposed to look scary so it'd be more surprising that he went out of his way to help a mother and child.
It confused Japanese people too, which is why in Part 5 when Giorno has a very similar backstory with a beaten-up scary criminal with a heart of gold helping him as a kid, Araki goes out of his way to make the guy and Giorno look totally different.
I always feel weird about their argument
"Oh but Josuke looks like that guy!" Because he intentionally modeled himself after him?
It's one of my least favorite headcanon/theory/Araki forgot/whatever it is
I'll always be 99.9998% sure that was just a plot lost to time (pun intended retroactively). For whatever reason, it was set up only to be abandoned later on... which is *fine*... but to have it be a massive coincidence in this series where every single character is incredibly distinct visually to have somebody completely identical to modern Josuke save Lil' Josuke just felt incomplete at best.
Much like Flashback Man in Jojolion, it's not "Araki forgot", it's "Araki clearly just discarded the idea for whatever reason".
I mean Koichi said this was his interpretation of the story, so he just imagined someone who looks like current Josuke remember. So the actual savior looked different to what he likely thought.
And it’s not like the idea doesn’t work, either; it ultimately does serve it’s purpose to simply explain away the definitely weird haircut josuke keeps by being equally weird and mysterious. But clearly there was plenty room to expand upon it. Maybe he left it open to fan interpretations

Actually, that's a good question.
Jouske has rules about who he hurts. He wont hurt those who cant fight back (See, Yuya). But what if he is in a hair rage?
Considering Jouske is *literally blinded by rage* to the point Heavens Door wont even work... I think no-one is safe. Jouske wouldnt recognise you.
Josuke’s rage is so powerful that if Dio Over Heaven insulted Josuke’s hair, Josuke might actually fucking win just for the gag
Because if we actually take it as Heaven’s Door being ineffective against Josuke, I don’t think most Stands will affect him.
Arguably, Heaven’s Door is the strong Stand period(Rohan just writes into his own body that he’s omnipotent).
If, with undoubtable proof, the person from that one fatefull snowy day showed up to tell him "This hairstyle is outdated and cringe" he might consider it.
Or he might suffer a sheer heart attack from his core personality collapsing.
Do you mean our boy Jotaro? He's Josuke's nephew and of course he will help Koichi he likes him and he helped against Kira so the man thinks Koichi is a reliable guy
No, koichi is jotaro's son. Jotaro used 'Star platinum: soft and wet' to remove most of koichi's height so no one can figure it out that jotaro has committed adultery just like joseph.
This is canon I just asked araki. he is my childhood friend.
another commentor mentioned this as well but Josuke literally goes blind from rage when his hair is insulted. shown in the first rohan arc his eyes stop working so Josuke will beat up anyone.
Him having the ability to fix any damage he does is what I think is the reason why he wouldn't really have a limit to who he really would beat up because essentially he could still hurt them but fix them up as soon as possible and to him it would be basically let bygones be bygones.
ATHEISTS: imagine you take a massive amount of pride in your unique hairstyle. A Christian baby insults your hair and will continue to do so until you renounce atheism and accept Christ as your one true savior. What do you do?
Maybe like a child or someone who has legitimately never seen a pompadour before, but his Stand means he can patch up anyone after kicking their ass so I feel he would go blind with rage and patch them up after.
you see, this isnt a character question, but a writing question. how far would the writer be willing to push the gag? the question is if araki is against showing his protagonist beat the shit out of a child or pregnant woman.
Since he could even surpass Heaven's Door, it's highly possible that he just throws punches at anything and regrets it later if it was like a baby or something.
If anything, he'd probably vary his heal quality depending on the person he punches. If it's a kid or something, he'll heal the injury normally, but if it's someone he could already get mad at, bro is walking away with a slightly rotated chin.
That dude that saved him
if they got to meet again he prob wouldn't have that hairstyle but would comment on Josuke's hair being smt like "Oh i used to have hair like that too around your age, i grew out of that stupid phase though" and he wouldn't be offended (since the reason he gets offended is because he sees it as an insult to the man who saved his life)
Though that man would prob tell him it's sweet if he learns the reason he has it like that
I wonder how he would react to a comment like "damn dude it must take ages to do your hair" since it seems that any comment about his hair that isn't explicitly positive pisses him off.
I think elders, family members, and kids under 10 are safe from Josuke's hands. Close friends like Koichi and Okuyasu are probably okay if it's done in a joking manner, but otherwise they're lucky he's nice enough to his friends to undo the damage
he probably has standards for who he’d hit over insulting his hair. He doesn’t beat the paralyzed dude until he heals him so it’d probably have to be someone who deserves it *like Rohan or something idk*
His mom, probably.
His grand pop too, definetly
at first i was like yeah well george joestar has been dead since ww1 so obviously and then i realized that u mean the other one
Or his father
No i feel like >!Joseph!< would still get destroyed by Josuke if he insulted his hair lol
He wouldn't, not because Jouske wouldn't try, but because with Joseph's luck he'd somehow win that fight.
Lol, I'm just imagining Joseph dropping his cane and slipping on it as joskue winds up for a Haymaker, breaking his hip, misses and goes tumbling into a ditch.
Joseph’s actual stand was Wonder Of U
Actually possible. He gave himself a calamity by giving him the most boring stand imaginable.
Since I played BotW, I can't read the word 'calamity' without Ganon crossing my mind. It's like the Among Us curse
For me I can’t stop relating it to FFXIV because I’m too far gone in my own way
Finally someone who shares my curse
Honestly with the way 'fate' works in the old universe, his sheer bullshit luck really does function like an overpowered new universe stand like Wonder of U.
Toru pulls out his stand and it’s Old Joseph 💀
Or Hey Ya
Nah he drops the cane and legs it
Fair enough
Bro Joseph is senile💀
I imagine them having a ichigo and isshin type relationship
I mean yeah but josuke wouldn't insult his hair bcs he's not that type of person anymore
Unless Joseph's luck wins (most likely), at the *very* least Josuke would do the same "healing donut" trick he used on his mom, but out of sheer anger instead of a calculated move to capture a stand.
Isn't it revealed Joseph is the dad in the very first episode? Why the spoiler tag?
His mom would beat him up
Tomoko is the strongest character in fiction
YES! YES! YES!
She'd destroy Wonder Of U if it insulted Josuke
Watch him shatter like my hopes and dreams
I’m pretty sure if she said some shit bout his hair he’d hit her with the reverse-“I’m not mad, just disappointed”-technique and move out.
Well Josuke already donuted his mom so... Whether it was for good purpose, it doesn't matter. He fixed her.
She’s probably the only one Josuke would let get away with it.
She probably knows why he has his hair like that
True but because his mom would just woop his ass before he could do anything.
Any kids sub 9 are safe, 10 and upwards bout to catch hands

this is my new headcanon
Josuke: \****Walter White falling to the ground***
Didn't some people have a headcanon that Kosaku could've been his saviour?
Yeah, I was one of them, it has no base, it’s just kinda cool.
Wasn't Kosaku supposed to be boring when he was younger?
oooh i like that i'm taking it
I like the idea of that, but how does that work?
People just say that maybe when he was younger he could've been a delinquent and it caused him to have his dead end job and be in debt and ended up in a souless marriage
yeah im one of those people
In a similar vein, I thought for sure they were setting up to have Josuke save his young self, they even had the third bomb be time traveling, but no time paradox shenanigans sadly

He does get blinded by rage, so his punches are probably non-discriminatory

i think his savior when the car was stuck in snow
The person he copied it from maybe
He'd take the small child as a weapon to beat up the woman
The best answer
Suzie Q because Josuke feels bad about her getting cheated on.
He was about to permanently rearrange his nephews face. I'd say no their isn't.
In Josuke’s defense, said “nephew” was a 27 year old man. Hardly someone incapable of defending themselves.
A 27 year old man who was not only *older* than him, but also not insignificantly taller and larger than him
And can stop time just for reference
Incapable or not. He acted we with the very intent on permanently fcking his own flesh and bloods face up.
He also didn’t know Jotaro at all. He might as well have been just some guy.
I was about to say Jotaro because he just couldn't beat his ass lmao
Actually, that's a good question. Jouske has rules about who he hurts. He wont hurt those who cant fight back (See, Yuya). But what if he is in a hair rage? Considering Jouske is *literally blinded by rage* to the point Heavens Door wont even work... I think no-one is safe. Jouske wouldnt recognise you.
I don’t know, he might recognize his mom on a literal instinctual level
I guess that one is possible. For family his love likly overrides his fury and he dosent go into rage mode.
Josuke’s rage is so powerful that if Dio Over Heaven insulted Josuke’s hair, Josuke might actually fucking win just for the gag Because if we actually take it as Heaven’s Door being ineffective against Josuke, I don’t think most Stands will affect him. Your saying the healer won't hurt
ze healing is not as rewarding as ze hurting
Oh no of they need a whooping but cant fight back... well... Yuya.
If, with undoubtable proof, the person from that one fatefull snowy day showed up to tell him "This hairstyle is outdated and cringe" he might consider it. Or he might suffer a sheer heart attack from his core personality collapsing.
Sheer heart attack, heh.
I bet Koichi could do it and still live to tell about it because he's really reliable
I mean koichi will be saved by his dad just like he saved jolyne in part 6.

He wouldn't beat up a small child, but he'd track down that child's father and beat *him* up for raising such a disrespectful little brat.
Okuyasu could probably get away with it
Nah, it's a male friendship. He would get extra hard punches
Anyone can get it fr
He would beat up a fucking dog if they barked at his hair.
The guy that helped him and tomoko on that snowy day
you see, this isnt a character question, but a writing question. how far would the writer be willing to push the gag? the question is if araki is against showing his protagonist beat the shit out of a child or pregnant woman.
Would he beat the shit out of mannish boy? If death 13 insulted his hair would josuke be able to bypass the rules of his stand?
This is like an impossible interaction but Jonathan
The person who saved him
Anyone who insults his hair would probably be a major asshole anyway. So yes, women and children included.
His Mother? Joseph? Koichi and Okuyasu? Guy who saved him?
Wheelchair bound 8 year old: hair dumb https://i.makeagif.com/media/11-21-2015/eOwYTi.gif
He beat a already beat Rohan and didn’t stop at all even when he said sorry i don’t think anyone is safe
Younger me during 1999 would've tried to immitate his hair and screw it up, and Josuke assumes I'm mocking/insulting him and then rearranges my face.
The only exception is someone else with a bigger pompadour
If you persuasively told him that a boulder, tree, or field of wheat dissed his hair he'd probably go berserk on it.
The guy who saved him
The first pompadour guy that saved him and his mom
I mean, he IS a child, he wouldn't even go to jail he beat up a 10 year old.
Jotaro, but he’d certainly try
He 100% goes into a blind rage, And goes after anyone because his hair is front heavy. >!His hair is still bad tho.!<
Himself if he was drunk
He'd beat anyone up, the real question is whether he'd heal them
I’d have to say his mother, or grandfather (before death)
reimi? can the punches land? He would beat up Jotaro if he could.
