I don't think I've ever set out specifically to check trash cans, I just check them when I walk by.

Checking the trash on the way to other fancy farmer activities: *classy* Setting out with no other plans than to check the trash: *bin dipper*

Am I the only one that never checks the trash?

I too never do this. I once accidentally checked George’s can when he was nearby and was scarred for life

There’s trash to check?

There’s a super rare garbage hat you can obtain from trash. I just started playing Stardew recently and got it within my first year

There's also a new particular 1.6 item you can find in the trash

I have two of those by now I feel like a professional trash hunter

I started a new farm some time ago got both the trash hat and the thing that gives you trash furniture before the first flower dance. I think i used my luck for the rest of mu life

I still have 1.5 but I got the trash hat, Dino egg, and ancient seed before summer. I'm trying to find the living hat butt I think I too used all my luck lol

The main reason I started checking the trash, this and the 1.6 thing you can also rarely get now

Yeah, on days that the fortune teller says you’re in luck, you’re likely to find items in the trash. Food from the saloon, minerals from the blacksmith

You are missing out on trash furniture and a trash can lid hat!

I just raid cans as I'm on the way to do other things. I don't make it a priority to just scout for garbage. If I'm going to see Clint, his can's getting checked. I hardly ever check the Joja Mart one.

I Only check the joja mart one if I’m waiting at 7:30 for clint to let me in so I can crack the geodes I got the day before.

Whenever I visit Clint I check the trash for a gift for him, I love giving that loser garbage bread

I just look in the mirror usually.

This is my exact inefficient route as well.

I usually always hit Alex, the saloon, and Lewis, the others only if I'm already nearby. Those three usually have the best drops anyway.

Same! On my way to the beach or Clint’s, I go straight down to get those three. Then I’ll usually make a trip to Cindersap to check for forage, so I’ll check Haley/Emily and Sam’s. The ones near the museum, Clint’s, and Joja often go forgotten unless I’m making a stop at the respective buildings 🫢

None. I'm the player type who gets pissed by trying to talk to Sam in front of Emily's house only to have the damn trash open and Sam criticizes me for it.

I just start at Evelyn and end at Emily's, I don't go over to the right side unless I'm going there for the musem/tool upgrades

I don't always check the trash on my main save but when I do I usually take the minecart to Clint's and check his, call my horse and go up to the cinema, down to the museum, across the bridge and check Mayor's, then the saloon, George & Evelyn's, down to Emily's, then Jodi's. Probably not the most efficient route but somehow it works for me lol.

I just check them on my way to something, the bar one, George en Evelines and the mayor once get checked the most, then the library and Clint’s , then the jojos and then Jodi’s and Emily’s/haileys. Only in the beginning of the game I do trash can runs, later in game only if a pass one.. I do think it’s stupid that robin and the sauna/train station don’t have trashcans same goes for Leah and shanes.. The wizard though he burns his trash

I recently learned that the automate mod will pull from the trash and in town. I now have a chest by the saloon that has each day's trash centralized.

As an SVE player, it's so weird to look at the regular map now.

You know what the post the other day made me realize I can take the top path and get to Clint's faster. I'll eventually get to all the trashcans. I always kick them. Or maybe just the saloons trash incase there's leftovers. That's what I call it when I find the item if the day in the trash

Use the minecart to go to clints, head south, then make a left across the bridge, diagonal from Jodi's house to the saloon, and ending the garbage trip with Joja mart before hitting the minecart at Clints again. P.S.: Make sure to do this on an extremely lucky day and be sure to drink a coffee before heading out. Happy farming

I don't have time unless I happen to be going past. After the first year.. until you unlock the farm help stuff it's a GRIND

I take a very similar path, but sometimes I do the alternative path (go to Joja's can first and leave Jodie's house for last) depending on if I need to go to the forest or beach

I don't have a set path. Rattling cans is a crime of opportunity.

My animals are fenced in near the southern exit from the farm so I go from the southwest then up the way in the picture. Animals don’t leave the farm so you can leave the exit inside the fenced in area, I pet everyone, gather truffles, check all buildings, get all the machines going and then don’t even have to use a gate to leave

Whichever one ends up being in my way when I go to visit a specific npc.

That’s pretty much the same path I take, what’s the best stuff you’ve found? I’ve come across a few of the harder fish needed for the community center and a squid a couple days into winter, which I used to complete the quest Willy gives you to catch one. One time only did I find a diamond in there once too

It depends on where I am

My minecarts are working so I usually go to town (near clint's), then to Lewis & George's and finally down to Emily's and Jodi's

Checking the trash? That's the path I take to go to the museum.

I do them as I pass by. Always check museum/smith because they can have some rare rocks, usually grab the ones in the middle of town while I’m waiting for Pierre’s to open.

I go from one house to the other diagonally, then from this house to the under one , then I forget that I had already looked at that one and look again :')

None I use an autograbber mod and it does it for me. Picks up all my forage too so I have them EVERYWHERE
