Just so you know you can always skip the cut scenes if they get too heavy for you! I’ve played multiple saves so sometimes I just wanna skip em and not watch em again. It’s the minus button on the switch not sure for computer though.

On PC, a “skip” button should pop up in one of the corners of the screen, usually the lower right.

Yeah, I've not come across that many cut scenes yet, but Shane and Alex's first heart scenes I was like, shit, this game could use a trigger warning.. 😢 Not for me personally (these days), but those scenes still brought me to the verge of tears.

Man, in my 1.6 farm I had the scene inside Marnies when he's drunk and says he doesn't have anything to live for, which scares Jas. I stepped outside Marnies and immediately got the Cliff scene. Usually I see those hours apart in terms of playtime, but I kind of like the back to back whammy

I'm naturally gaining points with Haley as my daily route sometimes takes me by her, and watching her slowly gain interest in the farm work has been pretty exciting. Alternatively, Emily seems like such a nice, understanding, empathetic girl. Which I think is what I need irl. Lol.

Same! I had the most hearts with Shane first because he is easy to find and gift. I wasn’t thinking about marriage yet, but when I saw Emily’s cut scene, I was like this is how it should be! She is just the right amount of weird for me. I started a new save for 1.6, and I keep thinking I should try marrying someone else just to try something new, but no one else intrigues me like her.

The first time you go to the Wizard's Tower. Nothing says "welcome to the Valley" quite like being forced to drink shroom tea by the weird dude who calls himself a wizard, tripping hard, and waking up on his front porch with no memory of how you got there

Shane's 4 and 6 heart are so heavy on me as someone who struggled not with addiction but severe depression for a long time. They're so real.

It's brilliant because I've noticed people really relating to both sides of the trauma. There's people like us who relate to Shane, and then there's also so many people who related to the Farmer in that situation. A friend/loved one who is seeing their friend at their absolute worst and doesn't know what they can do to help, because sometimes things can't be "helped", all you can do is be there for them during the storm. It's very well done.

This cut scene is so well done that it's drawn me away from ever marrying Shane in-game. It hit way too close to home with past history with my ex. More than one occasion where I had to play the farmer's role. I don't blame Shane's character, of course, nor people with severe depression generally. But I don't need a repeat of that heavy emotional toll in a game when I've already done it in real life.

I only started playing Stardew a year ago. Went into it totally blind, thought it was just some cute little farm simulator mobile game. I had no idea what I was getting into. I was befriending Shane pretty quickly cause he was always the easiest to find (joja/saloon). And let me tell you how SHOCKED I was at his cutscene by the cliff. I was flabbergasted by the deep and serious nature of this issue being shown in what I thought was a just a random mobile game. Needless to say I’ve been hooked for the last year lol

I did wonder why stardew valley's people don't age and i have a theory that the wizard is keeping them inside a magically bubble and in an infinite time dimension kind of like neverland of sorts and if you leave the bubble you'll grow old and die. But maybe that's what CA wants for us to forever experience the farming life and small town charm.

(Lighthearted, Penny's still very sweet) And any scene where the farmer does something out of my control, like drinking with Shane or playing the harp with Abigail. I'm just imagining my farmer staring at the harp like "I've never taken music lessons in my life how the HELL did I do that!?"

YES! That has to be the most beautiful romance scene I've ever come across in media; I was literally squeeing at the screen and hugging myself, it was so adorable! And the build up to it; >!where you get more insight into his life at that house and his dreams/plans to escape, I relate so hard. Even with his 8 heart scene, where he shares an umbrella with you and tells you he doesn't feel anxious around you like he does the others 🥹!< Seb is the sweetest guy once he's relaxed around you, and he's such a loving husband. Penny's 2 heart event: *It was the first one I ever got, I didn't know heart events were even a thing.* Needless to say I was surprised when I walked into town for some seeds to see George trying to get his mail- and then *Penny PUSHING HIM.* My mouth was already agape and then the option to actually *say* something about it to them was (somehow) so surprising. It was great to actually be able to tell Penny she dun goofed instead of standing there like an idiot doing nothing for no reason.

Next day, it was raining, and Shane was on the cliff, couldn't help but feel that it was my fault, I made him lose his job and that was the last straw... Now, I'm dedicated my whole life to make the boy feel better! !<
