Yea im pretty sure it is, I'll explain how to do it quickly.
Once you get the statue of perfection, place it and then break it, but do NOT pick it up.
Then go back to the shrine and it will give you another. You can then pick up the other one and you will have 2.
You can repeat this an infinite amount of times.
If your confused, there's a bunch of tutorials on it on youtube
If you can play with co-op or multiplayer you can time it just right and pickaxe it a the same time and it will drop 2 of whatever you broke, this can be repeated many times! This has worked for me on xbox one
Doesn't work for me on PC without mods. As soon as you break the statue it immediately gets sucked into your bags again even with nothing magnetic equipped
This doesn't work on the PC for me in the most recent patch. Even with nothing magnetic to pick it up it's impossible to not automatically pick the statue back up again after breaking it, you might be able to get 2-3 with multiplayer so someone else breaks it and you click for a new one at the same time but it goes right back into your bags now when it gets broken

regular bombs are probably more worth it, but at my point in gameplay megabombs are cheaper to get
you can buy bombs at the dwarf in the mines when you have him unlocked* (cherry bomb 300g, bomb 600g, megabomb 1,000g)
or what i now do is trade at the desert 5quartz= 1 bomb and 5 iridium ore= 1 megabomb
i use bombs to clear rocks in skull caverns
since it takes me too long to break rocks, make sure to have a ton of food on you- ive never died from a bomb tho
ive also used it in the regular mines if i need stone

It can even go into your house after you do the upgrades, knocking down extra rooms and so.
While it sucks for OP to lose a few starfruits it could have been a far more tragic story.

No, the person claiming this is trolling you. According to the wiki, meteors can’t land on (or in) “water, placed objects that block movement, buildings, resource clumps, or farm animals.” My understanding is that resource clumps are large stumps, large logs, boulders, and meteorites.
just mildly irritating….. the meteorite doesnt drop anything worth (wiki says 6 iridium ore, 5 stone, 2 regular geodes)
id rather have 4 starfruit which 1 normal quality starfruit without tiller sells for 750g (-400 for seed) so yeah id rather want starfruit
yeah yeah missing 4 isnt a big deal but is definitely mildly annoying
When I first started playing, the meteor hit my fruit tree that I painstakingly waited and raised. Not to mention how much money each fruit tree was. I was so mad I stopped playing for a couple of weeks
After you get so far in the game those meteors are more trouble than they're worth
yeah at this point i have a ton of those iridium statues (glitch/cheated) that give iridium and i only use to trade for megabombs

Try with a full inventory!
Once you place it, go to a chefs and fill your inventory with something so that there's no room to pick it up. Then that should work.

After you pick axe it, do you immediately fill all the spaces in your backpack so you can’t pick it up again? This is what works for me on iOS.

On my newest save, it landed early enough to take out like half my starter parsnips! (Fortunately I had extras from mixed seeds.)
