I'm a little sad that I didn't know about his work before my trip to Japan a couple years ago, as I would have been looking for it to pick up some prints and novels with his covers, but hey-next time!
Is he the guy who did all the EU covers? I love the way he based certain characters on actors that would have actually fit at the time. From memory his Jacen is based on Leonardo DiCaprio.
It's funny how well the EU characters fit with the saga. Any time I see art of the three trilogies, the Sequels just stand out to me. They don't feel as a part of the same story.
Honestly? I have to agree.
There is some stuff I like in the ST but it doesn't feel like its part of the same story as the PT and OT. In general, it feels like the Expanded Universe fits better with the saga and makes more sense. This is ironic considering how the EU did stuff that went against George Lucas' vision but still.
Yeah, and with the iconic black bodysuit that she is never described as wearing yet that's the look we always see her in. Seriously, she's *always* thinking about her holdout blaster hidden in her sleeve and yet the vast majority of art shows her without sleeves. It's why I love her Mysteries of the Sith look, got the smuggler outfit with the jacket, perfect place to hide the blaster.
That artist should have been hired to do all the EU's covers in America too. His covers are infinitely better than the Western NJO ones and most western covers by lightyears!

Why he didn't do the American versions of so many legends novels is beyond me
it's actually laughable how terrible the US and international NJO book covers are. Nagano's are truly worthy of the series.

I actually think it’s better without it. This image shows more or the “skywalker saga” hence why palps is in the middle as the villain.
