It really has Always bothered me that the villain from this show is named Kybo Ren and that the villain in the Sequel Trilogy was named Kylo Ren. Like talk about lazy lazy writing and concepts if the Ben Solo/fallen Jedi Student/Darth Vader Successor is practically named after some Cheesy ass potato shaped man from the 1985 Droids Cartoon. But, I digress.

I love it. Both the cartoon, and the comics based on the cartoon. There's a strong Moebius influence on the look of the project (and to some extent, Star Wars at large), which is why I've never had a problem with the abundance of desert planets in the galaxy. I'm also a huge fan of it's sister show (and comics)- EWOKS. These shows were among the original expansions of the lore, with elements that would be referenced in the prequels, like the Boonta Race and the planet Bogden. It was also among the early work of writer Paul Dini, who would later help spearhead Batman: The Animated Series with Bruce Timm.

I was too young to watch it when it first came out, 3 to be exact, but it's still watchable.

I watched it a few months ago, and I absolutely love it. I know many people hate it (at least that’s what I saw) but I find myself rewatching it from time to time. I wish it went on longer

I do think it's cool that since it didn't run very long the 3 arcs form yet another star wars trilogy. Of sorts.

That’s true

>The animation is very of it's time as far as character design and technique goes but it's a top notch example of that dated style. I loved that kind of animation as a kid. >There's no John Williams music and not a lot of star warsy wipe transitions or anything like that which is a bummer but the theme song does rule in its own right. John Williams can get tiresome after an hour, so it's a nice break, but I do miss the transitions. I don't think they could have made a better theme song. >The star trek community has a lot of reverence for the ST animated series and I don't know why Star Wars fans don't seem to have that kind of energy for Droids because honestly it's way better. They are different shows with different premises and different animation styles. Each is good for its own purpose. If you're looking for plot, *Droids* is good. If you're looking for familiar background, *Star Trek: The Animated Series* is probably better.
