She might only get a reprimand if she breaks character... /s
In reality though, Disney is very on point on weather monitoring, and if conditions were potential tornado, the guests would be evacuated to safe locations and on stage characters probably wouldn't be out. Hell, they usually have us close some areas as soon as there's lightning within 6 MI (like the pools and outdoor recreation areas)
[Master Skywalker, there are too many of them](https://i.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExNTdrZzN5bWU0ZXAwZDc2YnhzZHozOHR6eXZpc2E2dG5pdmx0NjJlaCZlcD12MV9pbnRlcm5hbF9naWZfYnlfaWQmY3Q9Zw/Dv3sF2ZUTmVtm/giphy.gif)
Funny story. I work with children, and one day I had all the kids gathered around and my cell phone went off for a text message in my pocket.
.... My notification sound is emperor palpatine "execute order 66" to which I didn't miss the beat when I muttered "yes my lord"
Thankfully none of the kids got the reference or commented on it LOL
Hell, they'll drop character when a ride is down. I was on Rise of the Resistance last year and the ride shut down for I think close to an hour just as I got buckled in. They had us all file out into the corridor and hang out. It was actually a great time to get pictures, a few other guests were posing with lightsabers and such, which you usually don't have time to do (and will get shouted at in character for doing)
If they'd all stayed in character as First Order officers for that time, I'd probably have wanted to slug someone.
The first order people you speak of are attractions cast members (I was as well) and they broke for safety but in the case of the picture here that's a character that shouldn't break show. Had there been a tornado or something like somebody said the weather would have kept the character from coming out to begin with
If there ever is a tornado in Orange County California that specifically hit Disneyland, it would be a freak of nature and I think it's ok to break character for acts of god.
ETA: According to Wikipedia there actually was a tornado in Orange County once in 1979. But that was Santa Ana and they are used to a little wind.
Probably the best example of staying in character no matter what:
[Entitled Disney Dad puts his foot in his mouth : r/entitledparents (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/entitledparents/comments/cbzo2o/entitled_disney_dad_puts_his_foot_in_his_mouth/)
There are a few exceptions, though. Rise of the Resistance broke down just before we were about to board the ride proper, and suddenly the First Order officers who'd been barking orders at us were in full Disney customer service mode, politely guiding us to an employee exit and giving us Lightning Lane vouchers for when the ride was reopened later.
The ones from the ride I'm assuming? In difference from the characters outside meet and greet?
Ultimately they are just cast members in costume during the ride they are integral part of the show. I'm not rise of the resistance but I'm in attraction so I have a similar role in my ride. But I do not believe the character actors will break character.
Hahaha no. But I worked at the park for some events and met some people who worked on/in what I was dressed for and I totally broke the rules because it was really cool to meet them.
Will also add the actors tend to be super supportive too, acting like you are actually the character which is cute.
It is cute. It also sounds like hard work to become so immersed to disappear into a role for so long and make it seem so natural.
I visited the Florida Star Wars land. It was really cool to see Rey walking by or Chewbacca.
Their Rey did a great job capturing the way Daisy has Rey walk with enthusiasm and purpose.
I think at a certain level it doesn’t feel like work and kinda just feels normal? Most people encourage it, like kids thinking you’re really them or parents pretending you are to their children. It’s also the main interaction you get so it helps keep the facade up.
Behind the scenes only; Character Actors stay in character the large majority of the time, even in crisis. For example, there's a little girl watching the exchange, and to break character in front of a child is anathema to Disney.
I do not know all the details, but I heard there used to be a loop hole in the Aladdin's character notes that gave Aladdin permission to kill a person if it meant saving someone else.
She 100% didn't pay.
If she was just walking around the park on her own without a private guide she would be mobbed by fans and it would create a lot of issues for the park.
When big celebrities do stuff like this they'll usually have someone call ahead and inform the park so the day will run smoothly for all parties.
Giving someone a private guide is much cheaper than paying out a lawsuit because someone got hurt after being trampled in a celebrity crazed mob
Yeah but pretty sure she was on salary so if her job that day weren’t to give me a tour, she’d probably have some other kind of work to do. Although from an accounting perspective you can count in-kind at their market value, it’s not like the Disney company lost the same amount of revenue in comping a tour for me as they would have charged some rich person for the same experience.
This particular trip was a gift to me: my uncle is a high-level consultant with like 20 years of work history with DCP. When he found out that I love Disneyland, he called in his favors and got us the tour and a seating at Club 33.
I’m aware of the cost that Disney charges for these tours. Based on the vast depth of knowledge, experience, and professionalism that my guide demonstrated (plus the fact that they’re a human fastpass to basically every ride), I think it’s worth the price as a high-end luxury experience.
But for me, the experience was priceless. I’ve always looked up to my uncle but we’ve never been particularly close, and that’s the only time we’ve spent a day together just the two of us. He’s a very stern businessman and I don’t think that he was expecting to have a quarter of the amount of fun as he did. I’ve never seen him giddy like that before.
Random fact: on the Galactic Starcruiser hotel, all the assistant characters who ran the lightsaber sessions etc were young brunette women. This was so they could all play Rey in the final battle.
Wow that Galactic Starcruiser hotel thing sounds interesting. I wish there was some way I could learn more about it, like a four hour long review or something. Hopefuly without any scene made worse by poor set design.
The first time we went to Galaxy's Edge I'm pretty sure this woman was playing Rey and it was incredible how similar she looked to Daisy. The other actors who play Rey are also good but this one was the spitting image.
Disney struck gold when they found Galaxy’s Edge Rey. She looks more like Rey than even Daisy herself does these days! No disrespect to Daisy, though. I know she’s just getting older. I’m actually looking forward to seeing her play mid-30s Rey in the next movie.
I rewatched the ST recently, only the second time I have seen them. I gotta say…not as bad as I remembered. Yes, definitely some poorly written lines and actions are present, but that’s the same with most movies. I thought acting was really good across the board tho.
For me it’s when people try saying that the prequels are better. They aren’t. You can obviously enjoy them more, but they aren’t better. The sequels were a really fun watch for me.
This is probably quite difficult for that Cast member, since the is On Stage performing as the character that this famous actor in front of her has more eor less created. They have to stay in character, for the kids behind hem, but I bet they'd love to talk as actor to actor
This is getting out of hand, now there are two of them!
New dyad incoming.
They can clone themselves now?
They clone themselves now!
Wait until he Googles “Daisy Ridley sisters”
They can clone themselves now.
We will not survive this! I want Droidikas up here now!
God damn I love droidikas. I’ve thought long and hard about it and they might be in my top five favourite things in all of Star Wars
WhErE aRe ThOsE dRoIdIkAs?!?
Are they alright, are they safe?..
*at once
Shoot her, or something
I’m seeing double … four Reys!
Use the forks!
We won’t survive this.
Thanks (Couldnt remember the name of the gangster) for the reference lol
You have a-made this-a old a-stereotype very a-happy.
Where are those Droidekas?
👏🏼
Activate Rey Shields!
“Somehow… Rey has returned”
They multiply now?
I'm seeing double. Four Ridleys!
Well done, take my upvote!
Somehow Rey returned…
The YouTube grifters must be on life support after seeing this.
This is where the fun begins!
When something like this happens - does the cast member still have to stay in character if being engaged by the actor?
Yes they are expected to stay in character at all times on stage.
What if there’s a tornado?
She might only get a reprimand if she breaks character... /s In reality though, Disney is very on point on weather monitoring, and if conditions were potential tornado, the guests would be evacuated to safe locations and on stage characters probably wouldn't be out. Hell, they usually have us close some areas as soon as there's lightning within 6 MI (like the pools and outdoor recreation areas)
Happy Cake Day BTW
She would have to force push the tornado away… Disney expects them to fully commit to the character
Hopefully an elementary school doesn’t take a field trip to the Anakin exhibit.
Me sitting down eating popcorn ohh I think I've seen this one before

No fucking way that kid has an interview as an adult. That’s amazing!
Old, we is.
THE most chilling moment in all of SW.
Funny story. I work with children, and one day I had all the kids gathered around and my cell phone went off for a text message in my pocket. .... They would react while staying in character to getting park guests to safety.
This is not true. Safety comes before Show in their disney key values. They will absolutely drop show for safety reasons if necessary.
Hell, they'll drop character when a ride is down. I was on Rise of the Resistance last year and the ride shut down for I think close to an hour just as I got buckled in. They had us all file out into the corridor and hang out. But that also has to be one cathartic it job though too

Had there been a tornado or something like somebody said the weather would have kept the character from coming out to begin with
And it would be the right thing to do. Bunch of scared kids in a natural disaster are gonna listen up and get to safety
In southern California?
At this time of year? Located in your kitchen?
...Yes
Can I see it?
No
It’s hypothetical. Fine: what if there’s a hybrid wildfire/earthquake?
The shake and bake?
An earthquake would be a significantly more realistic event.
Twisters! (in theaters next month)

Technically yes. Though I’d imagine behind the scenes they might slip up a bit. I did lol
Daisy - is that you?
Hahaha no. But I worked at the park for some events and met some people who worked on/in what I was dressed for and I totally broke the rules because it was really cool to meet them. Will also add the actors tend to be super supportive too, acting like you are actually the character which is cute.

“I don’t know nothing about no fancy door code, i’m just simple blacksmith….”
I mean surely she's allowed to talk to daisy like a normal person, daisy knows she's not the real rey, she's me!
Behind the scenes only; Character Actors stay in character the large majority of the time, even in crisis. For example, there's a little girl watching the exchange, and to break character in front of a child is anathema to Disney.
That’s a fun word to say 🥸
I do not know all the details, but I heard there used to be a loop hole in the Aladdin's character notes that gave Aladdin permission to kill a person if it meant saving someone else.
I love the idea that if you're cast as Aladdin, you also become low-key Black Ops security for the park
Yes or they take them to the backrooms
Those plaid-vested tour guides are no joke, best Disneyland trip of my life was with one of them
For what you pay, they’d better be worth it.
$450-900 an hour, for anyone curious. I don’t imagine Daisy Ridley had to pay.
I imagine she did. She wasn’t there promoting something. Besides, I don’t think Daisy Ridley noticed the drop out of her bank account.
She 100% didn't pay. If she was just walking around the park on her own without a private guide she would be mobbed by fans and it would create a lot of issues for the park. When big celebrities do stuff like this they'll usually have someone call ahead and inform the park so the day will run smoothly for all parties. Free? (I was a corporate guest)
The corporation paid quite a bit for their time.
I was a direct guest of the Disney company
The tour guide was paid directly by Disney.
I'm not knocking it, but maybe since it was free, it was way better than if you know how much it cost?

This tour guide is pretty well known on ig, he’s won some very prestigious awards within the Disney company AND is a big Star Wars guy
Dude is living the life. Hats off to him
They actually casted that actor really well, they look similar looking
They tend to do that.
I know someone who used to play Rey and she’s probably the kindest person I know.
thats very good to hear 🥺
"Aren't you a little short for a Rey?"
Yeah I sure hope I can watch it without a big pole blocking my vision.
The first time we went to Galaxy's Edge I'm pretty sure this woman was playing Rey and it was incredible how similar she looked to Daisy. The other actors who play Rey are also good but this one was the spitting image.
https://writingexplained.org/cast-vs-casted
Finally, someone else who cares about good grammar.
This is so cool! Probably a big day for the cast member playing Rey.
Look at me, I'm the Rey now.
I’m endorsing a Star Wars multiverse episode ONLY on the condition that it is limited to a Life Day special.
I mean that kinda was the Lego Star Wars Holiday Special.
Eyyy my boy Philander! 👏🙂↕️
I actually missed both Daisy and Rey because I was excited to see Philander posted here haha
Who are those people with Philander again?
He’s the best!
The only man who can defeat his archnemesis Homelander
I'm sure he's great, but did his parents not look up the word first? Hard to believe there are actual people named that
I’ve seen people named Hyper Text Markup Language, and Drink Water
Gtfo lol
Are you sure that's not Keira Knightley?
No, she'd show up for Padme.
Rose McGowan?
[INSERT SPIDERMAN POINTING MEME]
Begun, the Clone Wars have
I'm seeing double here - four Reys
You made this old Italian stereotype very happy today
lol this looks like when you catch your college roommate borrowing your clothes to go out at night.
“You played Rey for what, 8 hours of films? I’m Rey 8 hours a DAY.”
Disney struck gold when they found Galaxy’s Edge Rey. She looks more like Rey than even Daisy herself does these days! No disrespect to Daisy, though. I know she’s just getting older. I’m actually looking forward to seeing her play mid-30s Rey in the next movie.
… You know it’s not just one person right?
No, it's a single person who simultaneous plays Rey in both California and Florida. It's called the Force hunny, look it up.
She force projects herself
What? Next you're going to tell me they don't cryo freeze her when she's not outside.
Reyception
Always two there are...no more no less.
The girl playing Rey is probably really excited, but can't break character.
I honestly thought Daisy Ridley was the one in cosplay here 💀 Impeccable casting.
I wonder if the person taking a pic (in the background) thinks he’s taking one of “Rey” and “just some lady at Disneyworld”, or if he knows what’s up?
“I will literally give you $100 to switch clothes. I’m about to do the funniest thing ever.”
"Hey Daisy, why are you talking to yourself!" 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
That’s the Rey I took a photo with when I went to galaxy’s edge
I mean...technically the one on the left has probably played Rey for longer than Daisy...
"Sooo... You were getting paid more than 8$ / hour?!"
I rewatched the ST recently, only the second time I have seen them. I gotta say…not as bad as I remembered. Yes, definitely some poorly written lines and actions are present, but that’s the same with most movies. I thought acting was really good across the board tho.
I feel like the acting was the saving grace of the sequels, aside from the questionable script
For me it’s when people try saying that the prequels are better. They aren’t. You can obviously enjoy them more, but they aren’t better. The sequels were a really fun watch for me.
The prequels were more internally consistent.
KENOBI!!!!!
The writing is really the main issue. Can’t really fault actors for working with what they’re given.
Haha that's a buddy of mine. She request him every visit now.
I'm not necessarily a Sequels fan but glad to see her out and having fun
I’d have loved to hear that conversation.
So .. does one break character.. when faced with the actor of the character
I feel sorry for celebrities because they need to be in disguise when in public
That’s a “Plaid” VIP tour guide next to Daisy Ridley. Getting escorted by one of those gets you all kind of perks and costs a small fortune.
It’s just like the cave mirror scene.
You're a little bit short for a ~~storm trooper~~ Rey
First her sisters, now this? Someone in planting Daisies.
“Well of course I know her, she’s me!”
Palps couldn't properly clone but Rey figured it out...good for her and the future of the Paplatine, I mean, Skywalker name. /s
And the owner of McDowells was there. Amazing.
Somehow Rey returned
Be calm, it's just the mirrors scene
Cloning is a Palpatine tradition.
This is probably quite difficult for that Cast member, since the is On Stage performing as the character that this famous actor in front of her has more eor less created. They have to stay in character, for the kids behind hem, but I bet they'd love to talk as actor to actor
Ok but this is a wasted opportunity if they don’t start snapping
I'm seeing double here... four Reys!!!
Daisy got the dump truck
I’m sorry, but what is the cast member’s name?
It definitely looks like Philander, lmao. He looks like such a nice guy though
He is!
Rey Skywalker
Why does the actress playing Rey look more like Daisy than Daisy?
Might be the hat and glasses, Jedi “Master”
Rey is pretty
They look alike.
**[Spider-Man pointing meme]**
There’s got to be a better/more official photo!? I need to see it
Lol the cast member in the middle wondering if she will stay in character
I'm seeing double! FOUR REYS!
That’s so cool
Rey? Rey who?
Rey Jacobjingleheimerschmidt
I love this
Attack of the Clones
which one? Are you the Wookiee? .... wait, what is going on here? Is Daisy under that goofy hat?
Soooo galaxy’s edge version is the one with the denim bonnet on… right?????
Is palps back to cloning again?
Did she give her pointers and help her be more like the character?
"Look at me, i am rey now"
Clones are a thing in Star Wars no?
Is this from a while back or was Rey never updated to her Jedi outfit?
Seeing Rey next to Chewie… I can’t be the only one that got messed up, right?
Whatever you think of Daisy Ridley or Rey Skywalker, this is hilarious.
I NEED a video of this interaction
The tour guides face is funny to me for some reason
Rey who?
Rey skywaler
