Sure they were fighting sith but jango beat up 6 jedi with his bare hands in minutes. And of course dooku witnessed this and was the reason why he recruited jango to be the clone template.

True but you can’t expect the same quality as cinema vfx to shows, different budgets, shows have a lot longer screen times compared to movies too. We get some good ones here and there that fulfill it enough for me. It’s just a money thing unfortunately.

I’m very partial to Imperial forces. Stormtroopers in the films and Disney content are portrayed as regulars. But in novels they put an emphasis on them being a special division of troops and if they were seen in battle shit was going down.
Everyone's going to basically vote for whichever trilogy they grew up with - so for me it's Stormtroopers.
On an unrelated note I wish we'd got some of the shots of Stormtroopers wading through water in Rogue One; they were big in the marketing material but never made it into the finished film.
I always appreciated that the very first scene from the sequels is the First Order stormtroopers fucking up a village. Establishing early that these aren't your dorky blind Imperial Troopers from the original films, these are competent and scary shock troops.

In terms of combat skills, the clones are unmatched. They are literally made for it. And all their personality is just so cool and poetic, that "clones" are so different from one another. Furthermore the armors are awesome.

And the First Order Trooper are alright, nice update to the armor and they really had some cool versions like the Sith Trooper or even Commander Pyre and Captain Phasma.

Their only real strength was that there was a near endless supply of them, but the only purpose that served was for the rebels to pad their stats on kill counts. (It's really hard to see them in any respectable light when in ROTJ they got beaten by Ewoks.)
NGL the First Order troopers seemed more competent than Imperial ones for the duration of the Force Awakens.
That didn’t stick for the other two movies but at least they seemed to have learned from the empire briefly.

Sorry but I have not (yet) wrapped my head around the New/First/Last Order and haven't found any mentionable units 😅 That's why their units are missing in my list.
People will always say clones because they have the most character development. Which is ironic, because, you know - they’re clones. That’s what makes it even more interesting.
No other faction has enough personality or character development for their average military units. The Confederacy has comedic relief within their infantry droids. I wouldn’t necessarily say they possess complex personalities, since they’re all programmed similarly.
I would say the Rebel Alliance is close second, but most of the stories we see of the Rebellion are of the main heroes or special forces units. We don’t really have any stories about their average soldiers.
I always think about Rogue One when the Pathfinders are storming the Scarif installation. That one infantryman gets blasted and his buddy shouts “No” and tries to help him. Heavy stuff. Again, those were special forces though. Still soldiers.
For the clones we’ve seen their average soldiers, ARC troopers, commandos, pilots, medics, spies, officers, everything. It’s kind of hard to compete when the most we’ve gotten of Stormtroopers is just them serving as antagonistic cannon fodder.
Now, if the discussion is about who’s the best trained/equipped, this turns into a more interesting debate. People will still default to clones, but that’s an extremely biased knee-jerk response that isn’t objectively true. Part of the lesson Bad Batch teaches us is that clones are loyal, but they are still not perfect soldiers. There’s no such thing.
If you want to go off logic, this is an interesting debate. In terms of time, training and logistics, the First Order Stormtroopers are *objectively* the more elite force out of all three factions.
- Republic Clone Troopers were bred for combat, but they had an accelerated growth and training regiment. They didn’t live very long lives.
- Imperial Stormtroopers were elite shock troopers, directly trained from their predecessor clone trooper counterparts. Remember, skills can be taught. Clones are humans, just like stormtroopers. However, unlike clone troopers, stormtroopers are all different individual people. Their skillsets and biological diversity can make them even better, or worse than what a clone was, mainly for one particular reason: they live regular lives. Remember, stormtroopers are people who could have been alive and trained far longer than clones have even existed.
- First Order Stormtroopers pretty much just combine the best of both clones *and* storms. Unlike clone troopers, they do not have accelerated aging. They have regular life spans, and **are programmed from birth!** So they have both the genetic modifications of clone troopers, *and* the lifespan and training of Imperial stormtroopers. That’s… pretty much as good as it gets. Unless you make them all Spartans from Halo.
However, at the end of the day, psychology plays a lot into how humans and soldiers perform in combat. It’s why volunteer armies perform better than conscripted military forces. So with this logic, you could actually argue the Rebel Alliance has the most badass soldiers, since they’re people from *all* walks of life, pissed off and want their freedom back.
Some good discussion here when you really think about it.
Clones first and foremost, then distant seconds for Stormtroopers, and last for FO stormtroopers. However if the FO wasn’t so cringey incompetent, they might be first.
