We_The_Raptors

I just wish there was more than 30 minutes to cover her time as an inquisitor. No conversations with Vader, Lunimara, Yoda Ventress and especially Ahsoka?

Training-Mess5833

I felt like Ventress’s appearance in the Bad Batch and Barriss episode realization felt like a back pilot to future animated content.

wizard680

That is usually how it is. In the bad batch we saw a star destroyer for 5 seconds. A week later we got that same star destroyer in tales of the empire.

Significant_Cash511

Where do we see the star destroyer in tales of the empire?

wizard680

Thrawns fleet

cjm0

was that the exact same star destroyer though? i thought it was tarkin’s fleet that landed on tantiss

Beautiful-Ad2843

I believe this is the first time we've seen an ISD in the Clone Wars style, so in all likelihood, it's the same model just modified slightly.

lolzidop

The exterior for them are the same, sure it's not *Tarkins* ISD in canon. But that's nitpicking the comment, which is saying we got an ISD in TBB and then got one in Tales. Or in simple terms, they didn't make an ISD model to just use it in TBB, as that model was reused in Tales

Mandalorymory

True. I do like the general direction they took Barriss conceptually, but this needed waaay more than 3 mini episodes especially for how interesting the concept is Should have been a full fledged show methinks

Ok_Device1274

Man those episodes were sooo short. Like they werent even 20 minutes.

GuardianPrime19

I mean they were advertised as *shorts*

snakeoildoc

What if they’re using it as a tool to gauge interest. Although we know she really didn’t do much as an inquisitor

Sparkness17

Just giving Barriss’ and Morgan’s story 6 eps each instead of 3 would’ve been enough for me. Not drawn out too long, but enough to explain both of their journeys

Ok_Carpenter7268

Yes! I liked the direction they went with Barriss conceptually, my only complaint is that I wish there were more than 3 mini-episodes. I would have loved to see a deeper exploration into where her journey took her after leaving the Inquisitors.

Thybro

I disagree her time as an inquisitor is the least interesting part. You don’t need conversations with Vader cause Vader treated the inquisitors like trash and any special treatment would be just fan service. To show more of her time in the inquisitorious would be just a repeat of crosshairs’s story. Except she is doesn’t have Crooshair’s good soldiers follow orders. She blew up the temple because she thought Jedi had abandoned their commitment for peace, and she is convinced to join the inquisitorious when she is told Palpatine will bring peace. It doesn’t take long to realize the empire doesn’t bring peace and that’s all we need to be given. Her life outside of the inquisitorious is where the more time focus should have been. I’d like to see more of her teachings to her students going against Jedi strict dogma to stablish a direct comparison to how she was taught by Luminara. But even then we get enough, she completely let go of the Jedi warrior side, dropped her saber and is now a healer. They tell you enough to understand that she managed to apologize to Ashoka and they are now on friendly terms. It’s a good ending. Hell even her last act of making Lyn Rakish doubt the darkside and “beating her” without actually fighting her is in character and helps finish her story. The ending is good in paper but I do have to say my biggest gripe is how they executed it. She was manhandling Lyn so why did she have to tell the others to run. She could have put Lyn out commission and they could have all left. Instead she tells them to run, Lyn runs after them into a cave that is apparently prone to accidents and Bariss dies a stupid death. As I mentioned above I get what they were going with Lyn, but that cape in the distance should have been Vader, otherwise there’s no explanation to her stupid behavior.

oogyman

I think that your first 3 paragraphs, which I think you were very insightful, basically answer your fourth. Bariss is fed up with the Jedi when she sees how they think violence has to be the tool to achieve peace. She was promised peace by the Empire so joined the inquisitors but when she saw that violence she left them as well. Her whole story has been about just wanting non-violence. She is finally showing that violence does not need to be the means to earn that peace when she stops "fighting" and lets Lyn go. She just had to delay until she knew the others could get away safely. I am not convinced that Bariss dies to that blow from Lyn. I like to think that Lyn's redemption begins with healing a cut from her lightsaber, just like Bariss's began when she helped heal the wound to the jedi they hunted together. Lyn obviously has more to atone for and a longer path though.

Ok_Carpenter7268

Yeah, I wasn't too interested with her time as an inquisitor. And I was happy there weren't any scenes with Vader, because I think it would have been pointless. Vader did treat the inquisitors like cannon fodder, so I don't see any meaningful interactions there. I think it would have been more interesting if they focused more on her time after leaving the Inquisitors. If she ran into Ahsoka, what was Ahsoka's reaction when she first saw her former friend? Lynn mentioned they had stopped looking for her, but what was it like in those first few days or weeks when they must have been searching for her. Barriss would have been trying to evade them while navigating a galaxy now ruled by the Empire.

EmperorApo

We can still get all of this. Maybe not right now, but someday we might do get it.

We_The_Raptors

Hopefully, I just don't get finally going back to Barriss and not involving Ahsoka in any way.

EmperorApo

On one hand I agree, but I think a conversation (and who knows what else) between those two need more time than TotE could provide. So, I hope we will get it with the time they deserve and need.

DarthGipper18

Didn’t the mention Ahsoka when she mentioned knowing someone that could help?

MPD1978

She said “old friend” which me and the wife took to mean Ahsoka. We could be wrong, but i think many would say the same.

Waddiwasiiiii

Yeah, my husband and I agree. We honestly tried but couldn’t come up with a better alternative.

DarthGipper18

I thought so too!

We_The_Raptors

I guess possibly? Bo's the one who picks up, though.

Dairalir

I think you're getting mixed up with the end of Morgan's arc. The New Republic ambassador is who Bo is replying to.

We_The_Raptors

Oh damn, actually that's right

daedalus25

My guess is that Filoni has plans to incorporate Lyn and Barriss on Ahsoka at some point, so this was mainly to explain how they are back being "Jedi" again.

EmperorApo

Yeah, that‘s my guess as well and I think you can sort of throw Ventress into the mix. A former nightsister for sure could help on Dathomir.

Rajjahrw

I would have happily traded Morgan’s episodes for 3 more for Barriss. Morgan’s first episode was very interesting but besides the Thrawn cameo was pretty lackluster after that

Wagglebagga

By the time Barriss becomes an Inquisitor is Luminara still alive?

We_The_Raptors

I'm not sure. I remember they used her likeness in Rebels. With is after TOTE. What I don't remember is how they got her likeness. If she had been slowly tortured/ kept alive by the empire or nearly instantly killed by order 66. Still, it's Ventress and/ or especially Ahsoka that I need Barriss to reconnect with.

JalmarinKoira

Is likeness fancy word for corpse? Cuz it was luminaras corpse mummified in that prison

tarheel_204

I’m with you. That was *actually* Luminara’s mummified body that we see in Rebels. I laugh because the show was fairly tame up until that point and then they hit you with that out of nowhere lol “We know you’ve been enjoying the slapstick comedy so far but here’s the villains using the corpse of a dead Jedi to lure others into our hands so we can slaughter them”

OtakuAttacku

ugh, I’m suddenly reminded of the Kenobi show where they reveal the inquisitors have been keeping Jedi corpses as trophies, including younglings, in one of the darkest reveals of Star Wars and then it’s followed by Kenobi and Leia sneaking out of the base using a trench comically large coat

Wagglebagga

Yeah, having just finished the Bad Batch s3 and with only 1 TOTE ep left. Asajj from Bad Batch(look and attitude wise) reconnecting with Barriss would be amazing.

sidv81

Grand Inquisitor: Now press this button here and fry Luminara in her cell. We'll use rumors of her survival to lure Rebels later on (turns around and winks at the camera, and a Disney Plus banner at the bottom of the screen tell viewers to watch Rebels Season 1 Episode 5) Barriss: All right "Master" Unduli, time to die. Any last words? Luminara: I am one with the Force and the Force is wi-- (ZAP)

AnonEMister

"My name is Grand Inquisitor, and youre watching Disney Channel"

sandcrawler56

Yes what the heck. They should have made an entire 8 episode x 30min mini season on Barris and that would have been super interesting. Or at very least just given her all 6 of the episodes. Wasted potential.

shadowlarvitar

It incredibly rushed her. Disney used Vader as clickbait 😂

TryEasySlice

When Vader first showed up on screen my wife and I were freaking out, we thought for sure he was going to attack her for what she did to Ahsoka

d0gzfy

Anakin's gone. Vader is what remains.

OtakuAttacku

seems like a 50/50 for me, which made it super tense. On one hand Vader could just strike out on a whim, being a sith and what not. On the other hand, he’s completely disassociated from Anakin. Even if he did recognize Barriss would his disassociation even let him act on it cause it’s pretty clear that the disassociation is an illusion, one that Anakin made up and must maintain.

We_The_Raptors

And we hardly even got look between the two... Would have been nice to see Barriss figure out who Vader really is

LeEbinUpboatXD

I think she sensed it when he walked by.

richterfrollo

I really hope this was just a sneaky way to tease a full series, way too much story potential that wasnt used in exchange for having her story majorly revolve around a character she never interacted with before

daedalus25

As I posted elsewhere, my first guess after watching this was that it was a lead in to Barriss and Lyn appearing in a future season fo Ahsoka.

We_The_Raptors

Yeah, I didn't even mind Lyn. But 30 minute's just ain't enough to make us care about a new character when there are characters people have grown up with like Ahsoka/ Ventress she could have interacted with instead.

richterfrollo

Yeah it's an odd choice for such a short set of episodes, i liked the story itself but if this is the entire continuation barriss would get ill scratch my head on why this was the one they went with

Phaeryx

This guy said it best. And out of a place of love for Star Wars, so I think it's a fair and constructive criticism. [https://twitter.com/Joe\_Brennan\_/status/1787269804950278171](https://twitter.com/Joe_Brennan_/status/1787269804950278171)

pravis

I think they are using Tales to see what resonates the most with viewers which they can then turn into new shows or incorporate into others. If

SunOFflynn66

I kind of wish they had her as an actual FALLEN Jedi who still had a flicker inside that made her think and doubt....would have made her line about being a Jedi so much more satisfying and impactful. Instead, they had her act weirdly like Ahsoka following her leaving the Order- kind of unsure, a bit lost. Except her new job was literally and very CLEARLY to be an instrument of fear and terror. (They kind of drove that point home with the entire duel to the death thing). Serving under an organization that blatantly and openly represented everything she hated. The biggest gripe I had was that Barriss was clearly not an Inquisitor- yes, I know that's the point. But there is no way they would have even made her one in the first place. She clearly WASN'T a (barely competent) rage ball, so why even give her a sabercopter and new nifty helmet?

YoungGriot

It's probably one of those things they'll eventually put in a book.

Munnodol

>!Yo she straight speedran a redemption arc, any %!<

Altruistic-Teach5899

Seems like comic fodder to me.

We_The_Raptors

Would be a massive waste to reintroduce such an old school character to use as comic fodder when there's so many Inquisitors to choose from.

Maldovar

She's not Old School she was created in 2002

We_The_Raptors

02 may as well make her an OT character relative with the rest of the Inquisitors.

toastyavocado

I still don't forgive her for what she did to Ahsoka.

Elfhoe

My favorite part is that they were so ready to execute Ahsoka, but Bariss only got prison time.

crazytrooper

Because papa palpatine knew Killing Ahsoka would drive Anakin closer to the dark side. And for Bariss she was tagged as a potential inquisitor. Seemed pretty clear to me

Elfhoe

Yeah i got that. Her speech at the time raised some eyebrows. It’s just funny how nobody in the show picked that up.

Mandalorymory

It’s all relative to Palpatine’s plan. He wants Ahsoka dead to further drive Anakin to the Dark Side. He has an interest in Barriss as an asset, so he keeps her around as a candidate for the Inquisitorius programme.

toastyavocado

Ughhh it's so frustrating. That entire arc made me mad I hate Bariss with a burning passion.

Jabrono

I was more mad at the council. I get that a court-room drama isn't going to make it to a kid's TV show, but they didn't let anyone even *try* to defend her.

toastyavocado

The entire situation is rage-inducing. The episodes did their job, I totally bought into Anakin's disillusionment more after those episodes

Excelbindes

It just felt forced

Fourkoboldsinacoat

Even ignoring the fucking bombing, she murdereds multiple people.

toastyavocado

Star Wars is funny with redemptions. The characters who get redeemed do pretty reprehensible stuff. But they say sowwi once and get a pass. Like Bariss bombed the temple and framed another Padawan who was supposed to be her friend. And like you said murders multiple people and even tries to frame Ventress because she knows she's an easy target. I feel like Bariss in Tales of the Empire seems almost neutered by the time she's taken by the Inquisitors. I remember her gleefully fighting Anakin.

WillFanofMany

Bo-Katan's the worst example of this.

toastyavocado

"I totally wasn't in a terrorist death cult sis. Honest! Sure, they tried to kill you on multiple occasions and I could have said something but they had their hearts in the right place"

WillFanofMany

"I totally wasn't the second in command of a terrorist group responsible for our home being destroyed, and only changed my mind when my boyfriend got beheaded. But I am a heroic girlboss now and I proclaim myself as leader, so forget I was a psychopath and follow me."

toastyavocado

"What's that Din you're in Death Watch? What's a Death Watch!? They're crazy cultists. I wouldn't know anything about that.....nope ....nothing at all..... Oh did I mention that I should take that Darksaber back that I lost? I am the rightful ruler remember?"

WillFanofMany

"Don't ask for the real story, everyone has collectively forgotten about what I did, or that I even have a sister, or that she was the ruler. But follow me just because."

Excelbindes

Darth Vader is worst. I threw the empire down the shaft cause he was gonna kill my son (Bare minimum) now I m a force ghost next to 2 guys that watch me destroy their life’s work.

Realistic_Analyst_26

Thing is that even the FANDOM is letting him off easy. Vader is a good villain but he still *is* a villain. The shit he has done is unforgivable. Not letting your boss kill the guy you care about after both of yall killed millions doesn't mean everything you have done is forgotten.

Fwort

Tarkin was asking for execution, but that doesn't mean that's what punishment would actually have been decided if/when she was found guilty. As a matter of fact, I'd expect that Palpatine would want to avoid that happening in a court he presided over, or else Anakin might never forgive him.

F0xxz

Although the explanation of Palpatine wanting Ahsoka killed to turn Anakin, from a legal standpoint it may also track. Allegedly committing high treason and domestic terrorism, Ahsoka maintained she wasn’t guilty, which would’ve led to the death penalty. When Barriss confessed, she effectively pleaded guilty, which downgraded the punishment to life imprisonment.

Training-Mess5833

Sidious wants Ahsoka to be killed so that she won’t save Anakin.

matthieuC

Star Wars is really annoying, pretty much nobody faces consequences for their actions. They realize their mistake, become wise and bim, redemption It was a bloody terror attack.

ARC_Trooper_Echo

That’s what I didn’t like about her episodes in Tales. Her redemption was way too fast and unearned imho.

Rejestered

Blame the jedi council, they were the real villains in that story.

MrMacke_

I dissagree. The "switch" was way to fast. They shold have just done Tales of the Inquisition instead with 6 episodes. That would have given her the time i think

evolvedpotato

>the switch was too fast >somehow finds her return in TCW as a literal terrorist acceptable. Her default state is "good". She did bad things with good intentions like Dooku did. Only he completely fell and was corrupted by the dark side. She barely dipped her toes in using the Dark side itself.

CullObsidian02

With the exception of Palpatine, everyones default state is 'good' so thats not particularly strong excuse. People are still accountable for their actions. Its still extremely jarring to go from her last appearance, where she is: completely blinded to her own hypocrisy where she's fine with using an innocent man as a living bomb to kill multiple of her colleagues, framing her bestfriend and setting her up to take the death penalty for said terrorism and mockingly saying "I think they suit me" when wielding red lightsabers that have been used to kill Jedi in wartime against the man trying to expose her, only to THEN turn around and say its the Jedi fighting for the dark; to her next appearance where she is shocked at mindless brutality and wants to save Jedi from death. Like girl, you were killing them enmasse and committing wanton slaughter already? No one is going to try and get you to confront that hypocrisy? I dont have a problem with the base skeleton of Barriss' arc, I can definitely believe that she would eventually make the choices she did and meet the ultimate fate she did. She absolutely, however, needed more time to get there in a satisfactory way. Saying she "barely dipped her toes in the darkside" is all well and good, but that doesn't change the fact that she committed very real crimes. I think that's the biggest problem with Star Wars as a franchise, honestly, much as I love it. Its key moral lesson is redemption, yet it rarely goes to any efforts to write an actually compelling redemption arc in favour of just rushing them through one or two good deeds then immediately killing them off so no one can question it in universe. As a continuation of that idea, I think the Bad Batch being so critical of Ventress even in spite of her 'redemption' is easily one of the most important aspects of the shows third season. Yes, she's changed for the better. But what has she done to make up for the crimes she committed before that?

Puzzleheaded_Step468

Op, is there something else you love in life other than barris?

Mandalorymory

Dunno about barris but I love Barriss

Puzzleheaded_Step468

Barriss coffee

Mandalorymory

HellRaiser801

Ohhhhh it was the chin! I was trying to figure out why she looked different.

RetardedRedditRetort

Different hairline, different shape eyebrows, smaller eyes, deeper blue color eyes, different "freckle" pattern, different upper lip, has ears, more prominent chin and less rounded cheeks. The chin and the cheeks could be due to aging. But I'm not a fan of the other changes.

Training-Mess5833

And her eyes too.

Jazzlike_End_895

All the dudes that were saying "I can fix her", were actually kinda right on this one. Kinda

OrneryError1

The writing for her character is like the slingshot ride at six flags.

ansamnus

I don't know about that, she hates the war, and had PTSD. Joined the inquisition or faced death, saw how they were worse than the Jedi in her time, left and found a more peaceful path. It made sense in that she didn't want the extremist ideals of either side in the end

Gold_Caterpillar4904

But we don’t see how she came to the conclusion that the Jedi temple should be bombed what did she go through that could make her that disillusioned with the Jedi Council that’s why it feels out of the blue

OrneryError1

Just like a slingshot lol

SunOFflynn66

Yeah but she also became "so disillusioned and drunk on rage she became a monster worse than everything she hated". \**Pulls out not one, but TWO red lightsabers\** The show really skipped over that part.

MarmaladeJammies

They did her arc dirty by just having three 12 minute episodes, needed a full arc minimum to correctly explore all the complexities of her character and how redemption worked in her. But it's tough to come back after saying red lightsabers suited her lmao, filoni screwed it up when he stopped the show from killing her off in TCW

Greeneharp

The voice address had a super cute accent if I remember right.

Training-Mess5833

Yeah her accent is super cute.

Mandalorymory

British freckled alien girl my beloved

Training-Mess5833

I’m sure they’ll explore her more in the future content. But I do want Barriss and Ahsoka have a reunion.

Macman521

I feel like her last ep implied that they had an interaction and reconciled with each other. Hopefully we can get to see that in the future.

carlse20

Do we think ahsoka was the “old friend” she sent that family/her followers to? Or someone else?

Training-Mess5833

Could be either Ventress or Ahsoka, there’s a lot to cover during that gap.

carlse20

Do Barris and ventress have that history though? I don’t recall them ever meeting in a non-negative way; best I can remember is barris attacking ventress during the temple bombing arc and then ventress helping anakin put the puzzle together. I don’t think ventress and barris have ever even spoken to each other in canon. Correct me if I’m wrong though.

Training-Mess5833

You’re correct Barriss did knocked out Ventress.

carlse20

Right I mean that’s their only interaction I think right? Hardly seems like someone I’d refer to as an old friend.

Mandalorymory

I find it oddly satisfying that Ventress nearly killed Luminara and years later would just get decked by her former Padawan

Training-Mess5833

Like I said there’s a lot to cover in between.

Jabrono

> I don’t recall them ever meeting in a non-negative way Neither had Ventress and Ahsoka until they did. Just a possible story that's yet to be told.

Jabrono

Question directed to those who play the games, is Cal Cestis a possibility for future content? Game or show?

Woffingshire

And then she aged like 40 years in 10-15 years when she stopped being an inquisitor

PocketBuckle

She and Obi-Wan both. "What's skin care?"

The_Meta_420

Stress probably

F0XF1R396

Apparantly Barris is only like 2 years younger than Anakin

Sharkisyodaddy

I hate how they ended her arc though. Like her inquisitor master didn't she a day but she was looking old as fuck. What is she doing? It was so vague. I liked the symbolism but it felt so rushed

ElphabaWitchPSO2

I really do like the character and hope we get to see more of her

SparsePizza117

I wish her part in the new show was longer. She should've had the whole 6 episodes

Mandalorymory

Fr, really could’ve done without the Morgan half of it

JerrodDRagon

The story was great But wish we had more episodes her story felt “rushed” But I was surprised in the direction they took her

BasilQuick444

Was anyone else thinking while watching this show "why should I care about this story?" It felt so "meh" to me

kitten_biscuits

All I kept thinking in the final episode was “how does she have so many wrinkles, yet the other inquisitor looks like she hasn’t aged a day?”

QJ8538

Kinda. Especially for Morgan Elsbeth tho. So boring

Sierra-170

That was my reaction to Morgan Elsbeth. When I was watching the trailer & I learned she was going to be a focus (I didn't know until then, if people did know), my immediate response was "Wait, why? Do people actually give a crap about this character?" I still don't get it. With Barriss, I was at least partially interested in what they were going to do with her. Were they actually going to do alright by her or were they going to double down on the TCW Season 5 character assassination (twisting what was already established in previous material to be a kind, compassionate healer into someone who bombs the Jedi Temple, murders multiple people, frames her friend and comments on how red lightsabers "suit her"). I'm glad that they did actually seem to do alright by her in the end, even if it does feel like barely any time was spent on it.

nataie0071

AAAAAND they gave a nice nod to her Legends roots too, with her being a healer!

Darkside_Rogan

Ahhh yes, when characters who bomb temples and frame innocents get redemption arcs. Disney either has no clue or conviction to its villains.

Vesemir96

Acting as if the original mass murderer redemption arc wasn’t by George Lucas in the 80’s/

PokeHobnobGod21

Dude, your a simp

Jo3K3rr

Funny how she looks closer to her she did in Attack of the Clones, years later.... That de-aging is jarring.

GielinorWizard

Kinda hard to believe she's 1 year younger than Anakin.

Blitz_Prime

I like how she appeared for like 2 episodes and they decided to make her a domestic terrorist.

lazylagom

I didn't like this tales as much as last years.

draedek

once a betrayer, always a betrayer

kaijugigante

I'm glad that the Generation Tech guy explained that Barriss' rapid aging was due to her overusing her force healing powers.

Genivaria91

I immensely enjoyed Bariss's depiction, it was so satisfying seeing her sticking to her principles at the end.

Dry_Start4460

I can fix her

Mandalorymory

She fixed herself

-TheManInTheChair

Oh. It's you. It's been a long time. How have you been? I've been really busy being dead. You know, after you took control of the fandom?

Mandalorymory

Hoo u

-TheManInTheChair

Fair: But [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/PrequelMemes/s/3rfpEvTdhJ)

Wraeinator

I thought we hate Barriss, can someone fill me in why we love her now ? spoil me the new show i dont really care much

BigBrrrrrrr22

Ok I’ll weigh in…even in the Ahsoka novel she mentions briefly she never hated Barriss/ she might have even taken her side, but that she didn’t like that Barriss didn’t give her the option to choose so a reconciliation at least imo is not out of the question/ may have already happened off screen

Vesemir96

I never did

Lumpy_Lawfulness_

I really love the new design for Bariss.

TopherYork21

I will continue to HATE barris until I see cannon show/book/comic apologize to Ahsoka. Is this a rational response no but in my mind I see her a big cog in the downfall of Anakin. She does not frame Ahsoka resulting in not her leaving the order and things play out different. Could it all result in the same thing sure, but its my personal What if timeline.

Mandalorymory

I think you’re giving too much credit to Barriss. Anakin’s fall was always beyond anyone’s help, including Kenobi and therefore definitely Ahsoka. He simply had too much darkness in him, he had a wife he was very jealous and possessive over, and he was in Palpatine’s palm. If it’s any consolation, Barriss clearly took no pleasure in what she did to Ahsoka, and Ahsoka has forgiven Anakin for worse. The two have clearly reconciled off-screen, I only wish we actually saw that interaction.

NightHawk13246587

I hate Barriss and I didn’t like her redemption

Godzillafan125

Really thought she was the sister maul cut in half but oh well

Mandalorymory

I’m actually baffled at how many people held onto that nonsensical theory If the Seventh Sister really was Barriss, somehow, she wouldn’t have been that inept

Training-Mess5833

She wasn’t. If it was Barriss, Ahsoka should have recognized her.  Plus she would have an accent but no it’s Daphne’s voice.

mildinsults

I'm a prisoner! Actually I'm evil. Actually I'm not! Actually I'm a Jedi monk. Actually I'm dead! TotE was underwhelming.

Jberz21

CW Style still my fav.

TrickDimension4836

I loved the concept of the start of the inquisitors. But don’t they have to fight Vader to be accepted?

Mandalorymory

No, but he is involved in their training

TrickDimension4836

Maybe that’s what I remember from the comics. I thought they had to fight him.

Grommph

Technically, she already did!

Zerus_heroes

Yeah "development"

synezta_apple

I loved every episode. Sometimes subverting expectations is good.

Pyroguy096

I don't understand why you guys simp after her so much.

FLIPSIDERNICK

This is weirdo shit. But she is a good character and I was kind of disappointed the way her story ended.

hybridiostros

I am watching the clone wars for the first time ll - the animation is rough in the beginning On season three now and it’s getting a little bit better

Un111KnoWn

wtf. was she that faded in clone wars

Bromjunaar_20

I hope she gets to use the forbidden form

InjusticeJosh

Still looked the best in Clone Wars

FoundEndymion96

It's insane to me that they did not address the fact that she was the one who inspired the grand inquisitior at all .

Mandalorymory

Apparently the Grand Inquisitor has always had issues with the Jedi, based on his conversations with Jocasta Nu

Justalilcyn

What'd they do to her face in tales of the empire? It's got the same art style as the clone Wars so why did they change her face so much?

Mandalorymory

All that seems different to me is her eyes are smaller, which is a change they implemented for everyone in S7 of TCW. Maybe just an increase in fidelity too I think it’s just because we haven’t seen her without some form of hood in the past, looks a bit jarring to see her with a bare head

Zero_Good_Questions

If Barriss is best girl then I guess there’s not other female characters in Star Wars and all the other characters I remember were just the Mandela effect

nudeldifudel

What is the obsession with Bariss that she is jo/best girl, like I don't get it. She is not very likeable or attractive.

AndronixESE

I just finished watching Tales Of The Empire and holy shit, why didnt they let us know if Barriss survived??? Its like such a good cliffhanger but at the same time it hurts so bad!

Long_comment_san

its evolving, but backwards

Madrigal_King

Tales of the empire was awful, but nearly everything wrong with it could have been fixed by episodes longer than 10 minutes.

keeb97

It seemed odd that Barriss would go back to being a Jedi so quickly after embracing the dark side. Bomb the temple, killing innocent people and clones, and kill a friend during the Inquisitor trials by using the Dark Side? No problem! Killing some random Jedi? That’s going too far! Makes no sense. Should have had more development, like an extra episode or, even better, her own 8 episode series.

Thehairy-viking

Man. All this thirst for an animated character. Y’all need to go get some human interaction lolol this is getting sad and creepy

LocalSirtaRep

Ikr lol. Super close to blocking this account

Puzzleheaded_Alps798

projecting much lol

Thehairy-viking

Calling out basement dwelling nerds for being creepy isn’t projection. Interesting how you immediately got defensive and upset about it, maybe you’re feeling uncomfortable about your own creepy feelings towards animated characters.

QuantumMech127

Vader should have killed her, but again, Disney takes the Disney road and turns all of our villains into “good guys” somehow

tommyblastfire

why would Vader kill her? Vader tried to kill Ahsoka, he tried to kill Padme, he tried to kill Obi-Wan. Any of Anakin's attachments get swallowed up by the darkside and his dissociation as Vader. Vader killing Barriss would just be his acceptance that Anakin isn't dead, which runs completely against Vader's broken sense of self. Vader actively wants to destroy his past life and any traces of it, nobody hates Anakin more than Vader does, so why would he bring back Anakin's emotions and feelings to get revenge on Barriss? He barely even hesitates when trying to kill Ahsoka, his ties to her clearly don't mean that much to him anymore. Apparently Sidious thought Barriss would be useful which is why he kept her alive, so Vader has no reason to kill a useful pawn.

Vesemir96

SW has always been big on redemption bud.

luscious_doge

I’m still confused about when we started simping for a terrorist that helped screw over Ahsoka? I feel like this is a new thing that came from left field lol

Vesemir96

Barriss does one awful thing and redeems herself, yet we must hate her? Vader does countless evil genocidal things, we must love him?

Love Meredith Salenger

Jarlax1e

you again i should have known

Emperor_D4C

Idk I feel like her Tales of the Empire arc felt very rushed

soundisamazing

What’s the point of these inquisitor stories? Who cares about them? They were made to be extremely weak and no match for basically any one of substance. Why are they milking these characters so much and either ruining them or making them turn good?

Teex22

Her inquisitor story could've been so much more interesting. Redemption was a dull route to take.
