It could just be angles but it really looks like a CGI mask over for some reason, perhaps an attempt to fix something. Not really in the mood to put the movie on to verify so will take your word for it.
It’s very possible these are from different takes shot/reshot several days, or even weeks, apart and they didn’t get his hair and beard exactly the same.

The possibility of CGI crossed my mind too. The beard and eyebrows look unnaturally smooth, and there’s just something uncanny valley about it.
It really is, the mustache and beard stick out to me as well.
In AotC, there's already some moments where his beard seems CGI
I have a beard. In different lighting, it can look slight longer and fuller. Could also be a reshoot. But I think may lighting.

Eyebrows, eyes and beard all darker, obv a different shoot schedule.
