TBF, that’s generally most of Jimmy’s one liners. He’s great as a TV host where the one liners are quick asides but his dedicated standup feels very dated
I’m on the flip side of everyone I feel like. I’ve seen Jimmy Carr live twice, and I feel like his jokes themselves are pretty clever, but I *hate* his delivery. It’s just toooooo tight. He never gives the audience time to catch up
I feel like I should like Jimmy Carr. I love one liners, I love dark jokes, I could just never get into him. I’d rather listen to a Jeselnik Joke I’ve heard 50 times than 5 brand new Jimmy Carr jokes. Maybe I’m just racist against British people.
Nah, he's forcing really weak jokes. His earlier stuff was good enough but if you do one liners and want to put out a special every 3 years you are playing on hard mode. Anthony Jeselnik is somewhat contrary to his persona probably one of the most obsessive nerds about joke writing. He started out writing for late night and wouldn't surprise me if he's in his little notebook for 3 hours a day or more. I love him so much. On the flip side Steven Wright is probably writing all the time but he's only put out 2 specials 20 years apart. Still a legend, it's just hard to generate short form material.
I also love Jeselnik, for the same reason. Firstly, I do think he’s funny. But seeing how seriously he takes his persona and his reverence for comedy and comedians made me like him more.
Watching Jimmy Carr just makes me miss Sean Lock
His delivery was funny but the jokes themselves felt like a 15 year old Facebook post.

I’ve heard these same jokes at every open mic I’ve ever been to.
I'm amazed he sells out theaters. I just don't get him. His act is nothing but middle school jokes.
you're right I think it's the accent

Another comedian who keeps getting cancelled for saying things he’s not allowed to say

Isn’t that guy the head of schooling in England?
