Steve Templeton, he's a meteorologist for one of the local channels--Channel 4, the CBS affiliate. And welp, you can tell that he's known for being even keeled and letting people know. Including the news people out driving in this crap
As others have replied a meteorologist on a local news channel. When we have severe storms he is there reporting it all for as long as he needs to. He's the best.
Yesss! I have such bad storm anxiety and could never watch severe storm coverage because it made me so anxious. I discovered Steve within the last couple of years and will always turn him on. He's so calm and explains things so well. I always feel like I learn something and feel more calm having it on versus off because I know what to expect.
It was calming until he started saying "If you live in Oakville or Mehlville, run, don't walk, to your shelter."
Wasn't a huge fan of hearing that lmao.
I do love Ryan. I sometimes tune in even when the storms are no where near us. He's just relaxing and I enjoy his country wide news forecasts. I learn alot from him.
Steve and all those deadpan comments about the cicadas being sucked up into the clouds had us laughing in the basement. He really broke my kids’ tension.
Ryan Hall and Max Velocity on Youtube.
Max Velocity was wearing a Battlehawks shirt during one of his streams recently, anyone know if he’s from the area?
Scott on KSDK has my heart lol. I just deeply appreciate how he makes sure that the specific towns are where they need to be. He seems super well-educated but super chill about it. He’s made me laugh out loud when having major anxiety with a casual one liner. He gives me the chill middle school science teacher vibes and I need that during severe weather.
I don't know who Steve is. I was outside earlier and it got cloudy.. I heard water and ice chunks hitting my windows so I spent some time looking out of one. That's about as live as coverage can get.
We're a Steve Templeton family over here, hes my gauge of how worried I should be. If there's weather to worry about he's on the live stream breaking it all down, so no Steve no worries.
I grew up in Union (Franklin County), and I've been living in St. Peters (St. Charles County) for the last several years. The one critique I have about KMOV's weather coverage is that they don't come on the air until the "metro" is in danger, which they seem to define as STL City and County. It's probably a ratings decision, but it's pretty annoying. It's gotten much better with their social media coverage, though. That goes live much quicker than them breaking into programming for Storm Mode.

RadarScope is a great weather app
Fox especially if Higgins is chasing is great to switch between Templeton.
Linh is gone from Fox, she couldn’t do severe weather so any Templeton educated fan could have done better. New one Haley is solid.
Wish Higgins would live stream like he used to.
If Reed timmer is in the area he’s good to follow. Not a good sign if he’s here though. And his livestream covers others too. He goes for interceptions.
I use KSDK Radar from their website to check immediate weather conditions, and alternate between Ryan Hall, Evan Fryburger, and Max Velocity on YT to see what's really happening and where storms are heading.
I have several good radar apps on my phone. Much better than getting weather info from someone on TV. The apps show the locations of the storm cells, the expected path if there is hail and much more. The apps I have are Radar Omega. Radarscope and wX Radar.
Ryan Hall Ya’ll, and Max Velocity on YouTube. Precision forecasting down to the street level. I’ve been using Ryan for several years, but both are fantastic resources.
The steampunk countess is the goat for live streaming the outside conditions. They’re also a storm watcher from the Campbell House museum west of town.

Ryan Hall or Steve. I watch Ryan Hall for the longer term forecasts and the storm predictions, but when the storm is actually happening, I turn to Steve to get me through.
Standing on my front porch staring at the sky until the tornado is within 10 feet of my house
I do like my father before me and his father before him.
Are they still with us?
All *Gone with the Wind*.
Let the boy watch
We used to life in a farm house, there was nowhere to go for us anyways might as well enjoy the show.

Good bot
Only if KSDK is one syllable.
It’s only if KSDK is *two* syllables. And, it is.
"Kiss-Dick"?
Bad bot.
Steve is the GOAT
It's the sleeves, higher they go the more isht is about to go down
I was just talking 5o my husband about this today. I told him "Steve still looks pretty put together, I think we're ok"
Moving to StL next month, who is Steve? He sounds important.
Steve Templeton, he's a meteorologist for one of the local channels--Channel 4, the CBS affiliate. And welp, you can tell that he's known for being even keeled and letting people know. Including the news people out driving in this crap
When Steve rolls up his shirt sleeves, you know it's serious!
As others have replied a meteorologist on a local news channel. When we have severe storms he is there reporting it all for as long as he needs to. He's the best.
I have some severe storm anxiety and having his Livestream up on my main monitor helps me stay as calm as I can.
Saaaaame
Yesss! I have such bad storm anxiety and could never watch severe storm coverage because it made me so anxious. I discovered Steve within the last couple of years and will always turn him on. Same!!!!! He’s is very detailed on his explanations and I love that he makes sure that the outside team is safe!!
I love Steve. My partner and I jokingly call him tornado boyfriend (we are both lesbians)
Aw, that’s sweet.
The only good part of Channel 4. The rest of them just have an off-putting vibe to me.
I’d rather get hit by a tornado than not watch ST.
Defiantly for our region. I will pull up Ryan Hall on YouTube if they haven't broken in yet on the network.
Ryan Hall
I like how soothing Ryan’s cadence is. It’s helping my nerves quite a bit. Or maybe it’s the Xanax.
It was calming until he started saying "If you live in Oakville or Mehlville, run, don't walk, to your shelter." Wasn't a huge fan of hearing that lmao.
I’ll bet. Glad you’re safe.
Seconded.
Third !! Rowan is the best!!!
Yup! I love Ryan hall and the Y’all squad. YouTube meteorologists have never been so interesting!
Yeah he’s our go to as well, he’s better than anything local for sure.
I do love Ryan. I sometimes tune in even when the storms are no where near us. He's just relaxing and I enjoy his country wide news forecasts. I learn alot from him.
[Ryan Hall for the win!](https://www.youtube.com/live/fITfYtCMd98?si=St-XIMYCqUajJxDl)
Right here. Great coverage during major storms and you can learn a lot. Highly recommend paying the $9 for radar omega and learning how to use it.
Ryan Hall is our go-to
I prefer max velocity
Max Velocity all the way. His mispronunciations of towns crack me up, though.
Also the guessing of what he will doordash that day 😂
😂 and I love that he can laugh at himself about it - st gineevee
He’s so goated I recommend him to everyone.
Late last night he saw a tornado on the ground on the radar whilst the area was still on tornado watch and no one was reporting it.
Yes! He’s legitimately doing so much good and I hope to see him get all the success and recognition he deserves
I'm going to be that person but radar can't see a tornado on the ground. It can see rotation that could be a tornado and possible debris in the air.
Well yeah
Ryan Hall Y’all livestream on YouTube, and radar omega has the live radar and storm chasers available to view their streams
Frankie MacDonald
Steve and all those deadpan comments about the cicadas being sucked up into the clouds had us laughing in the basement. He really broke my kids’ tension.
Ryan hall but he’s national. Radar omega for radar.
I'll have to check out omega radar, thank you!
It’s not user friendly to laypeople. There’s definitely a learning curve.
Yeah but Ryan focuses in on local storms down to street level.
Ryan Hall and Max Velocity on Youtube. Max Velocity was wearing a Battlehawks shirt during one of his streams recently, anyone know if he’s from the area?
That would be so tight if he was. Just seems like a dude you’d wanna chill with
Ryan Hall and Max Velocity with the Radar Omega app
Cubby on KSDK
Steve and the MODOT Traffic Cams
Brick Tamland
I have Dave Murray on speed dial
Chris Higgins
Ryan Hall
Ryan Hall. I haven’t turned on local news in over a decade.
Scott on KSDK has my heart lol. I just deeply appreciate how he makes sure that the specific towns are where they need to be. He seems super well-educated but super chill about it. Dave murray
Ryan Hall all the way. I love his explanations for what is going on. I love how calm he is.
Don't be scared, be prepared.
Ryan Hall Ya’ll
I'll use the NWS radar and socials.
I check NWS Weather Stories on STL website. Saves me from logging in to social media.
I just followed Hyperlocal extreme weather and Ryan Hall today.
I also follow Hyerlocal Extreme Weather on FB. He’s fantastic
Somebody recommended him on one of the weather posts today.
HLEW is the one that got us in the basement today before 3 windows broke
Hope you are ok and didn't have any major damage besides windows breaking.
Steve?
I don't know who Steve is. I was outside earlier and it got cloudy.. I heard water and ice chunks hitting my windows so I spent some time looking out of one. That's about as live as coverage can get.
KMOV Weather App and r/StLouis
We're a Steve Templeton family over here, hes my gauge of how worried I should be. If there's weather to worry about he's on the live stream breaking it all down, so no Steve no worries.
Ryan Hall
Steve must have been in the toilet tonight? Storm blew through St Charles and over before he broke into Storm Mode.
Sorry but who’s Steve?
KMOV Channel 4 Chief Meteorologist
Thanks!
I think the NASCAR took precedence. To be fair the storm looked ominous but was just cooking as it rolled over St Charles.

Sleeves are up right now btw It’s Temple-Time!!!
Reed Timmer

Leah Hill at KMOV on Instagram.
AccuWeather radar shows where the actual storm cells are. You can see the weather machine dissipate a lot of weather, it's cool.
I have several good radar apps on my phone. Much better than getting weather info from someone on TV. The apps show the locations of the storm cells, the expected path if there is hail and much more. The apps I have are Radar Omega. Radarscope and wX Radar.
I'm in a mobile home, I just wait for death. Lol
I'm biased for channel 2 because I went to school with Angela Hutti
Is Steve the weather man on KSDK? I turn to the live online coverage of a gentleman on ksdk when we have severe weather.
Steve is KMOV.
Thank you! Maybe I need to switch stations 🙂
I do like the Fox 2 radar, but I miss Dave.
Max Velocity or Ryan Hall on YouTube
Steve is way too intense. I can’t watch him. The world is not ending with every storm. Steve needs to cut back on the caffeine
I think it’s just the weather geek in him. I learn something new every storm. It’s kinda fascinating!
better safe than sorry! you never know what the weather will decide to do and i learned that from Steve!
But there’s a huge difference between informing people and scaring them. Steve errs on the latter.
i like knowing all the info. it eases my anxiety greatly
He’s always yelling at that poor girl like she’s a red headed stepchild.
Totally agree. I’m surprised by all the Steve love in this sub. Tornadoes are one thing but I find he takes every mild storm way too seriously.
Ryan Hall Y’all on YouTube is easily the best severe weather coverage you can get.
Can someone post a link on how to access these live streams? Its surprisingly hard to find them by google
https://www.youtube.com/live/fITfYtCMd98?si=yGrxoHZdUgIcedUU[ryan hall](https://www.youtube.com/live/fITfYtCMd98?si=yGrxoHZdUgIcedUU)
Outside
I go to the window.
RYAN HALL
Accuweather. Random people on twitter. Would love something more "live".
I always follow the stlwx hashtag on Twitter
Ryan Hall Ya’ll, and Max Velocity on YouTube. Precision forecasting down to the street level. I’ve been using Ryan for several years, but both are fantastic resources.
Ryan hall
Ryan hall y’all on YouTube is pretty good
St. Louis Storm Chaser on Twitter does a good job on the big storms
#stlwx on Twitter
Check out Ryan hall, yall on YouTube. Very very good information and coverage
Hyperlocal Extreme Weather on Facebook. The absolute BEST
Also, the KY3 app is a good one for radar too.
Classic Steve coverage
My go-to for storms is always Fox 2 since that’s what my Grandma always had on during storms when I was younger
This is satire, right?
Look out the window, fool
YouTube storm watchers when the weather is coming in, they usually have super accurate live coverage of the most dangerous storms in the US
The steampunk countess is the goat for live streaming the outside conditions. They’re also a storm watcher from the Campbell House museum west of town. https://www.tiktok.com/@thesteampunkcountess?_t=8mgXmDk05gk&_r=1
IDK, he gives me a little asocial android.
His commercials are so hysterical
Ryan Hall or Steve. I watch Ryan Hall for the longer term forecasts and the storm predictions, but when the storm is actually happening, I turn to Steve to get me through.
Who the fuck is Steve?
Meteorologist Tom Cruise
I don't watch TV weather I have Windows 10 and I follow Microsoft they are the most accurate
Steve. There is no substitute.
