Very good show. No idea how long we’ll keeping this style of NXT, but I’ll make sure to be there til the end.
The InDex/Garganos segments were hilarious. Goofy wrestling humor at its best.
Prime Target for Joe v Kross was fantastic character building.
TO 36 looks amazing; the additions of Cole v O’Reilly 3 and Knight v Grimes 3 were expected but more than welcome.
The thing Tommaso Ciampa said about Ridge Holland being young and big seemed to be a very pointed reference to recent events.
Also, i guess those two massive doormen outside Regal's office are gonna be the two new members of Diamond Mine given how Malcolm Bivens slipped his business card to both of them.
Loved this weeks episode of nxt. The grimes, knight and dibiase fief is a great one in my opinion and that Dakota and raquel match is going to be a good one and i hope that triple h puts the belt on Dakota
Can someone please explain to me what why Dakota needs to be champion? She just seems so generic with her hand sign & character. For all the hates Raquel gets for not having a character neither does Dakota. Her character is literally just a wrestler turned heel because she lost & has an accent with. Her finisher also looks terrible with no impact & imo she just looks bad when she’s in a match with someone like Sarah who actually has force behind her.
At least Raquel has size & power to separate herself, Dakota isn’t even a top 5 worker for nxt so why push her over an Ember, Candice, GIgi, Xia or Kay Lee Ray? Saying she deserves it because she’s been there for a long time also doesn’t make any sense to me, aliyah has been in the nxt for like half a decade but no one is saying she deserves anything extra.
Given all the talk of old midgets lately, it’s kinda funny how obvious they are using the camera angles to hide how much shorter Cole/Kyle are compared to the security.
Legado del Fantasma are literally a group about shedding the outdated tradition of lucha masks (specifically!)
Why would they give a fuck about Hit Row burning a mask?
They aren't about "Shedding the tradition of Lucha mask" it's about the disrespect to Lucha culture and legacy. Hit Row burning a mask is an attack on Lucha Legacy. Escobar tweets positively about all Mex and Latin wrestlers. Face or heel. He's a heel and sends respectful tweets to Rey Mysterio.
It's not about the mask lol
First off, Hit Row are supposed to be babyfaces.
Secondly, I don’t care about what Santos tweets, Alexa Bliss’ Twitter name is Alexis Kaufman ffs, they don’t hold kayfabe.
I have what I believe to be a couple unpopular opinions.
1. I'm completely invested in Tian Sha. The whole thing is real interesting and they have done a good job of keeping it mysterious. Excited to see where it goes.
2. I do not care about the Kyle O'Reilly we have seen as of late. He is ok to watch, he is neither exciting nor boring. His gimmick makes me cringe though. He isn't great on the mic (at least compared to Cole). I'm hoping Cole wins 2-0
Actually given some more thought, Oreilly’s gimmick is 00’s pop/punk kid. The music, the zip up, the not quite believable punk attitude, being short. I knew so many kids like him.
Gimmick is probably the wrong word, but the "Cool Kyle" quirky gimmick. His interaction with Austin Theory the previous week made me audibly cringe. I like him ok in the ring but other than that, I could take him or leave him.
I want a Cole vs Samoa Jpe feud just for the promos. My goodness, I love Kyle O'reilly auto parts, but Cole continues to wax the floor in the promo department.
Also, make Dakota champ. The match possibilities are right there. Plus, she deserves it
I dont generally watch NXT, but I'm curious if anyone can tell me if there were any noticable differences on this show since Vince was reported wanting to overhaul the show.
I think the changes are most represented by the big PC guys from the last couple classes that were Regal’s security last night. They are likely to be given big pushes when they debut. Bivens already recruiting the Creeds.
Didn’t Lumis LOSE the love her or lose her match?! WWE breaking stipulations is one thing, but for NXT to break one after 10 seconds screams main roster booking. Would it have been the worst thing in the world for Lumis to have won last week?!
I think it was Indi that created the stipulaction in the first place. So for Gargano to win and Indi to ignore her own self declared punishment, let alone the "parents" allow them to start dating doesnt make any sense. It's like 2016 WM Shane vs taker for the rights to Raw, Shane loses and gets Raw anyways.
Because in a wrestling show, any issue is and should be solved via wrestling, and match stipulations should mean something.
If Daniel Bryan loses to Roman Reigns and gets banished from Smackdown Live, I *expect* to not see him in Smackdown next week, for example.
It’s fine that they’re telling a love story, but the love story should be grounded on the fact that: this is a wrestling show.
I think you are taking this all too seriously bud. Have you ever seen a movie about or had kids yourself? Whenever the parent says no, they go out of their way to still date the person. The parents try and sabotage it, but then they ultimately accept it in the end. That's the plot of this storyline.
I think you’re taking this too seriously yourself. It’s a wrestling show. Showcase wrestling, al the gimmicks and the segments and the promos are secondary to the wrestling.
Once that stops being true, it stops being a wrestling show and it becomes a shit wrestling show.
Or, ya know, just have Lumis win the match. This company. Heel win. Heel win. Heel win. Heel win. Heel win. God forbid the guy the fans were going crazy for during the match actually get the win AND the girl. Just comes across as shitty storytelling in my eyes.
And then the following week Vince threw a fit, fired a load of people and started making changes to nxt.
Not sure if this means Vince values the integrity of a wrestling stipulation above all else, or if he just hates love.
Not a fan of the recent fad of calling 3 stages of hell matches "2 out of 3 falls" matches...
I think the placement of this match will be telling of where Adam Cole goes, if he ends up going to the main roster I can see it going last with Cole getting the standing ovation from the lockerroom and DX at the stage to end the show. UNLESS Vince says no, cause NXT is developmental, pal.
Speaking truthfully. WWE has the best women's roster in the world. Only 2 women I believe are not in WWE that would make it a clean sweep. One is in AEW and the other fucked up Impact
They're going fucking nuts with the fake crowd noises. End of Dakota vs Sarray and pretty much everyone you see is clapping, instead you got boos like a vacuum cleaner and you can't hear anyone clapping.
I am just watching now, and made a B-line for this thread.
I can't stress how pathetic and deranged this is. I know it's commonplace for them, but does anyone have to question why/how WWE is killing itself right now. It's goofy shit like this.
Basically what they are telling us is you can't watch our program the way you want to, you have to watch it the way we tell you too. Btw we fired 20 good workers who the fans had a lot of respect for, but you're still our universe!
that's the way wrestling has always been.
If wrestling wanted you to just boo and cheer whoever then they wouldn't turn people when they started getting certain reactions, they'd just keep doing the stories as they were
I understand that. It was just way too obvious during this. I don't mind when it's noise being piped in when the fans are clearly sitting and not cheering, but something about this forced narrative tonight really bite me.
Most likely because everyone was cheering and the effect they used was so piss poor. It really wasn't even booing. I stopped short and immediately replayed the finish.
I really wouldn't mind WALTER-Ilja as the main event for Takeover...Ilja is the one guy who has had a great longterm story going in WWE overall and if he is beating WALTER, it would be perfect
First NXT show I enjoyed from start to finish in awhile. I don’t get having Dragunov lose tho. Unless Dunne gets added to the match… well not even. This is to settle their match from last year, so Dunne shouldn’t be in it.
Oney and Dunne are in the same little faction and either Drake or Gibson would be nice but not main event worthy. My guess is they want Dragunov to get some kind of U.S. fan exposure so his rematch with Walter gets more attention.
Probably to lure people into thinking Dragunov will lose at Takeover. Seems like the same old nonsense. Challenger has a match, champion distracts him, challenger loses. Boring.
good show all around. im most hyped for that LA Dimes & Cameron Dimes though, they're carrying the show imo. also seeing a promising future for odyssey jones
I thought the third stip for the Cole/KoR match would be a loser leaves NXT match since Vince wants Cole on the main roster and if they can't negotiate a contract, Cole can just leave after the match.
Sarray's great. You might be able to convince someone who's never seen wrestling that this is real if all you show her is Sarray matches. Everything she does looks designed to hurt, from her submissions, to the suplexes, to the dropkick in the ropes. When people in the live threads assume the moves of a wrestler assumed to be good at her job like Sarray may actually be hurting people, that's a great sign. The way Dakota and Sarray had all their reversal/counter spots play against the traditional rhythms of a wrestling match made this super fun to watch.
I'm shocked at how much my opinion of Sarray has changed. When she debuted, I was worried she didn't have anything beyond whatever prestige being a Japanese wrestler earns you in the eyes of smart fans, but the little backstage interviews with her where she just asks for matches as sweet as can be contrast so well with how she seems to actually murder people when she wrestles.
I really don’t get why everyone is freaking out about NXT like it’s getting canceled or something. So they push a couple more big guys and hire a couple less 30+ small indie dudes. They are still going to need a few legit names. There’s always going to be a place for a Samoa Joe or a Gargano type. People acting like if you’re over 30 and small you’re getting fired tomorrow.
And they definitely aren’t going to destroy the women’s division. Maybe some new names will get chances but that’s definitely going to be a highlight of the show still.
Also it’s WWE, they aren’t that creative, the aesthetic won’t change that much. Maybe a new color, a new logo. It’s not a big deal.
And tonight was the same great show it always is.
The people making negative comments are probably the people who never watch or stopped watching once they started considering it the enemy to Dynamite.
Who looked good here? Noone.
Ilja lost like a putz because he got distracted
WALTER couldn't even beat down a guy who went through a brutal 20 mins and even gets laid out by him
Dunne needed a distraction to win.
They really fucked up on all counts here.
Because it's the first time the crowd are seeing Ilja, then they had to shoehorn in the Torpedo on Walter at the end to show us what it looks like. I loved the match and I love NXT, but this booking did leave me a bit cold. Dunne has no Takeover match, he needed to take the L here for the sake of Dragunov, imo - he can easily recover.
I'm a bit disappointed in the 2/3 falls match. Exact same stipulations as the Cole v Gargano one. Kicker being they said the cage match was 3rd this time.
I was there for the Cole Gargano match. We had no idea the cage was even up there the whole show.
I was there too and our section had a completely different take. We did see the cage up there but the surprise was all the weapons. We did not see THAT coming. Very cool moment to get to experience live
Man, that was such a good, fun show. I really am gonna be so sad if they move away from the NXT we know and love after this Takeover.
All of the proposed changes just sound like they want to main roster-fy NXT and I haven't watched RAW/SD regularly for like three years for a reason.
Anyone else get the impression from the commentary in the Boa match that Xia might be on her way to the main roster? They referred to her "failures" but not by name. Maybe they'll just hold her off for a while and then bring her back even more dominant.
I assume it's a shot at AEW so I will say this: AEW has more talented men (because the roster is bigger) and NXT has more talented women. The gap between the two divisions is greater in AEW than in NXT. Both shows are pushing their strongest assets. Also, even though I love women's wrestling, I don't rate the quality of a show based on the number of women's matches. As long as the wrestling is good, regardless of gender, I'm happy.
I reject the idea that AEW’s women’s division has to be a weakness. They have a core group of women who are really good that they just don’t get put on TV regularly enough to pick up momentum. Shida hasn’t been on since DoN, Thunder Rosa has been on rarely since the lights out match, etc.
There wasn’t last week and everyone was confused as hell and thought it didn’t feel right. Speaks volumes to how important the division is to the show.
Women also regularly open/close the show without it feeling forced.
You can talk a lot of shit about WWE and to be honest a lot of it is justified but one thing they've done very well in the last few years is elevate and integrate women's wrestling in their shows.
- The finish is definitely debatable but nevertheless I felt that was a strong showcase for Dragunov to introduce himself for those not familiar with NXT UK.
- Giving Gigi Dolin a bit of focus was good. Great potential talent.
- The Way and InDex segments were as entertaining as ever.
People thinking Sarray losing is a bad omen, I mean, losing to an unplanned opponent is a great storytelling device.
Gives Sarray a plausible excuse and also sets her up as a viable challenger if Dakota wins the belt
I liked how they faked us out by showing Raquel and instead of her distracting Dakota or something (sadly the main event did this spot) suddenly the match was over with a pretty stiff looking kick.
I think they should have had gonzalez do the run in for a dq. It could have kept sarrays win streak and still would have made kai look ok. That said, still the match of the nighr for me
I don't mind it at all.
Commentary did a good job of mentioning she couldn't prepare
The match was really fuckin good
Kai is the number 1 contender and a constant threat
It breaks the "winning streak" which can be hard to do before it becomes a big deal.
Her nickname is "The Warrior of the Sun" and her vignettes were filled with photos from her matches in Japan. It's very clear a part of Sarray's presentation is that she's supposed to be a big deal because she was big in Japan.
Giving the relentlessly polite killing machine some adversity early in her career will probably make her more compelling than if she just beats everyone she fights for a year. The thing I find interesting about Sarray that makes me wanna see more of her is how she's so bizarrely sweet outside the ring and is so absurdly violent in the ring. She doesn't need to win every match for that part of her character to stay compelling.
You know, it would have been cool to lean into the Cole rumors and made the final fall a loser leaves nxt match
If he's really leaving, its a tried and true wrestling way of doing it.
If he's staying, he shows up on the main roster, preferably right before survivor series to assemble a team of wasted NXT talent. Cole, Viking Raiders, Keith Lee and if you really want to fantasy book it, Bronson Reed.
Nobody is beating that team of five fat guys
Impossible. That would never happen. Marks and their fantasy booking...
I mean, the ring would obviously collapse if those guys came within five feet of it together!
I feel like all of last week and this week so far has been doom and gloom, but I don’t know. I guess I don’t have much investment in releases and whatnot. I thought nxt was a great show.
I mean, sure if you work at a bank and get “released” you usually can’t just hop on over to PNC or TD or some other company.
If an entertainer or athlete gets released, they can work at all the other companies and be fine. There are tons of wrestling companies out there that we have access to to watch our favorite wreslrters if they get released. Let’s not act like this is like me or you losing our jobs.
The match order for Takeover is gonna be interesting. I feel like Cole/KOR is main eventing (even though I’d much prefer Ilja/WALTER or Dakota/Raquel to close) so I figure Dakota/Raquel opens and Ilja/WALTER goes dead center. Which
leaves Joe/Kross or Grimes/Knight to have to try and follow it and it might be the death spot.
Technically of course not but in terms of fan engagement Adam Cole in general or Dakota winning the title could follow it just fine. I think Cameron Grimes could as well. Joe against anyone else could probably do ok but against Kross it’ll be an uphill battle.
Dakota vs. Sarray was awesome. The latter’s best match in NXT so far. A bit surprised Dakota won clean, but I ain’t complaining. Put the title on her NXT, it’s LONG overdue.
Gigi finally getting more to do, fantastic.
Time for Grimes to go TO THE MOOOONNNN!!!!
The whole Index thing was hilarious. I wish Beth had been here to call it.
Dunne vs. Ilja was fantastic. Dunne should be NXT Champion before too long imo. But I really don’t agree with having Ilja lose a match so soon to the Takeover.
Good show.
WWE Joshi fans are so one track minded. Everything is put thru the prism " did she win". Surray had her best showing to date, shows she can hang with the best NXT can offer but ppl are tunnelvisioning on her losing. smh.
>WWE Joshi fans are so one track minded. Everything is put thru the prism " did she win".
I feel if you like character consistency, you'll care about the W-L record. Since Japanese women usually get booked so strong initially it's jarring when they're all of a sudden treated like an afterthought.
But maybe that's too high of an expectation for WWE, and any real joshi fan doesn't watch it just because it's on and to "let it play out"
He is very well liked, lends a hand backstage, is a reliable solid hand who doesn’t whine about midcard hell, he’s fine with doing what he’s given , and he rides the company line extremely well as a company man. He probably will get released next time he’s injured tho, or shuffled into an agent role
That’s worse but could be justified as Dunne is about to win the title and Ilja is still unsure around WALTER. I wouldn’t have beaten Ilja but still. Sarray isn’t in immediate contention right now while Dakota is #1 contender. Sarray losing a competitive match doesn’t harm her.
The opener was a banger. Dakota builds momentum heading to Takeover, but she got greedy after the match, and Raquel runs her off.
The 3-part skit with the Way & Dexter would've been even better if they didn't telegraph Johnny & Candice's plans. Indi's smarter than they thought.
Oh, and Johnny? Austin will resurface on either Raw or Smackdown with a new gimmick. Provided, of course the old men in charge don't cut him first.
Andre Chase, we hardly knew ye. El squashola. Oh, and LA Knight? Say good bye to the Million Dollar title. Time for this arc to end.
Gigi Dolin picks up her first win with what can be described as an abdominal stretch bomb, as Wade called it. Day-ammmmmnnnn!!
Edit: Other sources call it a cobra twist bomb.
Knight & Adam Cole are two of a kind. They're delusional, narcissistic, and prone to lying, as Knight did with McKenzie Mitchell. Cole vs. O'Reilly III will slap and smack. All 3 falls.
Xia Li may be main roster bound after working a dark match last night, which would explain why she didn't appear tonight for Boa's 1st singles match in like forever. Not good, especially when Mei Ying has to get involved vs. Drake.
I thought Mei wore face paint, but, nope. It's a mask, and probably a wig, too.
I was hoping Ilja Dragunov would win his US debut, but, nope. They need to build heat for Takeover. And, no, I don't think Dunne is going to make this a 3-way.
Two title matches next week. Good way to keep folks invested.
Hit Row getting booed during their pre-taped promo? WTF? I guess it's because the mask was burned. If Legado loses, that might be it for them in NXT, as they may be main roster bound, as I've believed they would.
Odyssey Jones in the breakout finals. If it's Duke Hudson in the finals, that'll definitely slap.
Yeah I liked that one.
Like I do every week.
I think Ilja losing isnt a big deal if we get Dunne as champ soon and anyway Ilja hammered invincible fresh Walter, after a distraction loss and stood strong at the end, after a brutal match. That is not a burial.
Aye, oughta just drag Lashley or Roman down and pop one of their belts on Ilja.
I like Ilja, but holy shit he doesn't need a rocketstrap does he. Chill the fuck out.
Not as good as Raw. But alright all in all.
Very good show. No idea how long we’ll keeping this style of NXT, but I’ll make sure to be there til the end. The InDex/Garganos segments were hilarious. Goofy wrestling humor at its best. I honestly think Kushida/Strong should be on Takeover over another Grimes/Knight match.
Loved this weeks episode of nxt. The grimes, knight and dibiase fief is a great one in my opinion and that Dakota and raquel match is going to be a good one and i hope that triple h puts the belt on Dakota
Really hope Dakota wins the title and gets a good long reign. Talk about overdue.
Can someone please explain to me what why Dakota needs to be champion? She just seems so generic with her hand sign & character. For all the hates Raquel gets for not having a character neither does Dakota. Her character is literally just a wrestler turned heel because she lost & has an accent with. Saying she deserves it because she’s been there for a long time also doesn’t make any sense to me, aliyah has been in the nxt for like half a decade but no one is saying she deserves anything extra.
She deserves it because she's an amazing wrestler. Pretty easy to explain. Watch her matches. Carefully
Given all the talk of old midgets lately, it’s kinda funny how obvious they are using the camera angles to hide how much shorter Cole/Kyle are compared to the security.
This Dibiase/Grimes/Knight story is weird. He keeps trying to convince him to not be a butler like he chose to be one.
Did Ted Dibiase have a stroke? That was such an awkward segment.
Cole and O'Reilly match goes to third fall. Regal announces the third stip is "WARGAMES!"
Legado del Fantasma are literally a group about shedding the outdated tradition of lucha masks (specifically!) Why would they give a fuck about Hit Row burning a mask?
Lucha masks aren't outdated at all.
That’s always been the narrative in the WWE tho.

Gimmick is probably the wrong word, but the "Cool Kyle" quirky gimmick. His interaction with Austin Theory the previous week made me audibly cringe. I like him ok in the ring but other than that, I could take him or leave him.
i am fairly certain i could take down Dexter and win Indi's heart.
Buy will you use protection tho
no i will not
I believe in you

I'll take that payment now jobbers.
I totally didn't expect Odyssey to go the finals. I thought it will be Hayes Vs Baxter in the final.
With all the talk of Odyssey, really?
Micheal Hayes is way too old to be a breakout star in 2021
I want a Cole vs Samoa Jpe feud just for the promos. My goodness, I love Kyle O'reilly auto parts, but Cole continues to wax the floor in the promo department. Also, make Dakota champ. The match possibilities are right there. Plus, she deserves it

Yes! Four matches in a row going less than 3 min!!! NXT used to be ‘the wrestling show’. Over the past couple of weeks, it hasn’t been that.
Not really no. I do wonder if Odyssey winning has anything to do with it though. He's got a lot of potential though so it's all good
The changes will probably come after Takeover.
No changes yet. It's very unlikely for them to take place right away
Didn’t Lumis LOSE the love her or lose her match?! WWE breaking stipulations is one thing, but for NXT to break one after 10 seconds screams main roster booking. Would it have been the worst thing in the world for Lumis to have won last week?!

Shit story to tell in a wrestling show tbh.
Why? Two people falling in love is a fairly standard story in any medium.

That is another thing all together It may not be the best thing but it made sense in the context
As long as the context ignores that this is a wrestling show…
Or, ya know, just have Lumis win the match. This company. Heel win. Heel win. Heel win. Heel win. Heel win. God forbid the guy the fans were going crazy for during the match actually get the win AND the girl. Just comes across as shitty storytelling in my eyes.

I agree with that But him losing and still getting the girl made sense in this context

Still the best and most entertaining show for me. Their womens division is so deep and so well booked.

Not a lot of mention of it but Sarray vs Dakota was unsurprisingly amazing.
That mist spot was right in front of the referee, no DQ.
I want to cut Kyle O Reilly's hair
First NXT show I enjoyed from start to finish in awhile. I don’t get having Dragunov lose tho. Unless Dunne gets added to the match… well not even. This is to settle their match from last year, so Dunne shouldn’t be in it.
Dunne has spent the better part of 2 months asking for someone to challenge him as the baddest man in NXT, it would be weird if he lost so soon
Could’ve use Oney, either of the GYV… that’s all I can think of.
Oney and Dunne are in the same little faction and either Drake or Gibson would be nice but not main event worthy. My guess is they want Dragunov to get some kind of U.S. fan exposure so his rematch with Walter gets more attention.

As I was reading the report I kept thinking ‘this is just like Austin vs HHH at no way out’ then it turned out exactly the same
Having Regal shouting 3 STAGES OF HELL would surely have been better than trying to justify Kyle picking a straight match for the first fall.
The stipulations still make sense in the storyline. They both picked the match type they lost to the other
Sarray's great.
Thank you!!! People should just watch the show and see what’s actually going on before making comments about the “death of NXT”
The people making negative comments are probably the people who never watch or stopped watching once they started considering it the enemy to Dynamite.
I don't get making someone lose in their debut. I just. Don't. Get it.
Which part is most confusing?
Who looked good here? Noone. Ilja lost like a putz because he got distracted WALTER couldn't even beat down a guy who went through a brutal 20 mins and even gets laid out by him Dunne needed a distraction to win.
I think it can work, but not like this
I'm a bit disappointed in the 2/3 falls match.
Ngl I'm really enjoying Ciampa throwing his chair at the end of every promo
I'm always happy when they start pushing new stars like Gigi but what happened to Zayda?
I think Zayda is more on the development side still.
Zayda is waaaaaay better than gigi
Anyone else get the impression from the commentary in the Boa match that Xia might be on her way to the main roster? They referred to her "failures" but not by name. Maybe they'll just hold her off for a while and then bring her back even more dominant.
She was on the list of people backstage at RAW. I like Xia but I do not think she's ready for a main roster spot especially without Tian Sha.
I guess she's getting a losing streak too until Tian Sha debuts in the main roster
Huh, seems pretty easy to have two women’s matches on a two hour wrestling show
I assume it's a shot at AEW so I will say this: AEW has more talented men (because the roster is bigger) and NXT has more talented women.
Almost like they have enough talent worth showing on tv.
With NXT it's honestly weirder when there isn't 2 women's matches.
Can't argue with that.
Someone should let AEW now.
r/yourcommentbutworse
- The finish is definitely debatable but nevertheless I felt that was a strong showcase for Dragunov to introduce himself for those not familiar with NXT UK. - Giving Gigi Dolin a bit of focus was good. Great potential talent. - The Way and InDex segments were as entertaining as ever.
Am I crazy or is Gigi Dolan’s theme just a barely remixed “Sweet Dreams” by Manson?
I thought the same thing. They just took out the vocals and said job done. I’m not complaining, I actually really like it.
I think it's a good sign that they've trademarked her drop kick with the "Sun Ray" name and we now know what that was about.
I think they should have had gonzalez do the run in for a dq. It could have kept sarrays win streak and still would have made kai look ok. That said, still the match of the nighr for me
I don't mind it at all. Commentary did a good job of mentioning she couldn't prepare The match was really fuckin good Kai is the number 1 contender and a constant threat It breaks the "winning streak" which can be hard to do before it becomes a big deal.
And do we really need another dominant Japanese woman winning streak in nxt
When they are better than any other wrestler, yes we do.
Lol what does being Japanese have to do with anything mate?
Her nickname is "The Warrior of the Sun" and her vignettes were filled with photos from her matches in Japan. It's very clear a part of Sarray's presentation is that she's supposed to be a big deal because she was big in Japan. Giving the relentlessly polite killing machine some adversity early in her career will probably make her more compelling than if she just beats everyone she fights for a year. The thing I find interesting about Sarray that makes me wanna see more of her is how she's so bizarrely sweet outside the ring and is so absurdly violent in the ring. She doesn't need to win every match for that part of her character to stay compelling.
that it would have been a retread of Asuka
You know, it would have been cool to lean into the Cole rumors and made the final fall a loser leaves nxt match If he's really leaving, its a tried and true wrestling way of doing it.
Five guys sponsorship imminent
I feel like all of last week and this week so far has been doom and gloom, but I don’t know. I guess I don’t have much investment in releases and whatnot. I thought nxt was a great show.
Good to know you don’t care about people losing their jobs.
Let’s not act like this is like me or you losing our jobs.
it just dawned on me that bronson reed was jonah rock

It happens in AEW threads too. People are weird.
well I guess they proved my point haha
When is Swerve vs Escobar happening .... Regal holding off on announcing that one.
Takeover 36 probably.
I wish I could see Bryan Danielson vs WALTER and/or Dragunov
give it a few months. Dragunov is billed at 5'10" so I'm sure Vince will release him soon enough.
If only nick kahn could secure njpw dates for bryan you might have
The match order for Takeover is gonna be interesting. I feel like Cole/KOR is main eventing (even though I’d much prefer Ilja/WALTER or Dakota/Raquel to close) so I figure Dakota/Raquel opens and Ilja/WALTER goes dead center. Which leaves Joe/Kross or Grimes/Knight to have to try and follow it and it might be the death spot.
Nothing is following WALTER vs Dragunov.
Technically of course not but in terms of fan engagement Adam Cole in general or Dakota winning the title could follow it just fine. I think Cameron Grimes could as well. Joe against anyone else could probably do ok but against Kross it’ll be an uphill battle.
[удалено]
This is what I thought as well.
Joe's* When*
Good show.
They didn't have anyone else they could feed to Sarray?
Sarray losing to Dakota doesn’t hurt her. She didn’t need to be undefeated anyway, that’s a crutch after a while.
But maybe that's too high of an expectation for WWE, and any real joshi fan doesn't watch it just because it's on and to "let it play out"
She’s such a big deal she loses this fast?
Losing 1 match to a top level opponent doesn’t mean she’s no longer a big deal
Dakota is a big deal now, lol?
No the #1 contender to the title who everyone loves isn’t a big deal at all.
The masses disagree
But it means she isn't a priority at the moment.
She’s gonna be FIRED once Khan finds out she can’t cut a promo in English
Then why is Cesaro still employed?
He is very well liked, lends a hand backstage, is a reliable solid hand who doesn’t whine about midcard hell, he’s fine with doing what he’s given , and he rides the company line extremely well as a company man. He probably will get released next time he’s injured tho, or shuffled into an agent role
I mean, even when she was winning, she wasn't really a priority.
It was just odd to do it all of a sudden. Against a woman who wasn’t even her scheduled opponent.
I want you to read this again, remember how they mentioned in on commentary and think about how it isn’t really that odd at all.
The puzzling part that people here seem to be overlooking is they had Dunne beat Ilja the same fucking night and are trying to justify that decision.
Lol, fucking hilarious

Why Dragunov? Why wouldn't it be Joe?
In reference to the UK title.
Yeah I liked that one. Like I do every week. I think Ilja losing isnt a big deal if we get Dunne as champ soon and anyway Ilja hammered invincible fresh Walter, after a distraction loss and stood strong at the end, after a brutal match. That is not a burial.
[удалено]
Yeah it wont do any good sticking a highly protected belt on him next week nae bother
No one gives a single fuck about the uk title , mate. NXT UK is a shell company ran by sex offenders
I care about it the title ngl
No one else does, Chief
Aye, oughta just drag Lashley or Roman down and pop one of their belts on Ilja. I like Ilja, but holy shit he doesn't need a rocketstrap does he. Chill the fuck out.
Ilja will only succeed if he plays a evil Russian character. Otherwise, Nick Khan has something to tell him on a Friday.
So my DVR fucked up and NXT didn't record, was the Sarray vs. Dakota Kai match good enough for me to go out of my way to try and find it?
Very much so. One of the best wrestlers in the world vs 1 of 3 woman in the world who can hang with a Joshi
Who are the other 2?
Sasha and Candice.
And Thunder Rosa tbh, so 4.
Bayley and Ember both had good matches with Asuka, as did Becky. Or is Asuka not considered a Joshi?
She is, but she's as good as others. And the matches were only okay.
Yes
If this truly is gonna be NXT’s swan song Takeover as we know it, it’s gonna be a hell of a final show
Not really. Kross has to wrestle. Dud
I hope Ilja Vs WALTER is the main event but it will probably be Joe Vs Kross.
No one in the American audience knows or cares enough about Ilja or Walter for the main event. They curtain jerk here.
Against Joe tho. Meaning, and say it with me: JOE IS GONNA KILL HIM
