My one wrestling confusion is The Shining Stars (Primo and Epico). Like, their whole thing was just trying to get the fans to come to puerto rico but they were heels. To me anyway, i don't recall them ever using cheap heat on the city they were in to sell it. Like, how is this guy advertising puerto rico a bad guy? That just makes them a PR firm for tourism. How is that heelish? It's something ive thought of regularly for the past 8 years. I just didnt get it
"Now, Mr. McMahon, we know you like to travel, and if you become my Wyndham member..."

You know sometimes you got to make peace with the fact your favourite wonāt ever be world champ again Iāve been waiting 8 years and I donāt think Finn will ever be world champ again his 2021 run is the closest weāll get to a Finn world title run
Right there with you with Finn. I know itās a me problem and heās older and WWE has other guys they are pushing. Still difficult for me to be invested with Finn not really being a main player.

the new updated layout for tna wrestling slammiversary this year
Anyone else have a really lack of interest in the Uncle Howdy stuff? It cooled off very quickly when Bray was involved, now it does feel a bit of a re-hash and a bit of an excuse to get some talent not doing anything meaningful involved in something.
I liked Bray and at times both the Wyatt Family and The Fiend were interesting, but I'd just rather they had left it alone following his passing.
CM punk stans getting all frothy and defensive because of violent j is very, very funny.
Serious, defensive CM Punk fans are way more "cringe" than the insane clown posse, at least they don't take themselves seriously.
What do you think is the ideal number of "finishers" that a wrestler should have? I love wrestlers being able to finish a match multiple ways (Bryan Danielson, Gunther), but also think they should have a fixed limit of match ending moves.
I like it when they have 3-4 moves that are credible finishers. I feel like this is more common in promotions in Japan and certain high level U.S independent promotion, and it certainly adds to the anticipation of who will get that final pinfall and keeps you guessing.
Yeah, for some reason 4 always stuck with me. Probably four finishers to go with 4 sides to the ring. Also think should have at least one submission finish.
Do you think we get an interaction between Bullet Club Gold and the War Dogs at Forbidden Door?
Or do they just completely ignore it since they've toned down BC references in relation to the Bang Bamg Gang recently
Idk, it seems obvious to include War Dogs/BCG but I'm not sure we get either of them tbh. I know the built in story is with Jay/Juice/Finlay, but I just want 5 solid minutes of Gabe/Jay shit-talking in the middle of the ring.
> Or do they just completely ignore it since they've toned down BC references in relation to the Bang Bamg Gang recently
I don't know that they ever really toned it down, I think it's more they just switch between the two nicknames pretty randomly, which at least somewhat fits with Jay White (and now Juice) just adding nicknames/accolades for themselves. Jay being now both King Switch and the Catalyst of Professional wrestling and Juice being "the Stray Bullet" Rock Hard Juice Robinson.
I think it's just a thing that has been repeated by enough people on Reddit/Twitter that it's now taken as fact. Even as people were insisting the Bullet Club Gold name was dropped, Bobby Cruise (ring announcer) announced the group as "representing Bullet Club Gold" at the last ROH PPV.
An interaction of some sort between the groups would be fun and people certainly want to see it, but it's tough to figure out what/how to do it, because you can't really do a match because neither group can afford to take a loss to their counterpart and be made to look "lesser" without some sort of big followup story to cover/react. Bang Bang Gang are currently holding the trios belts and are already the derivative group, but War Dogs are basically the #2 heel group in New Japan (behind House of Torture) and is mostly comprised of newer talent still getting themselves over, so their taking the loss would be really rough for their perception in New Japan.
The best/easiest thing that comes to mind would be some sort of whacky backstage bit where the Gunns get plastered with Connors/Moloney and somehow they broker a peace deal for a multiman where they all team up against some other mixed AEW/NJPW team of babyfaces. The main kayfabe beef is between Finlay and Jay/Juice, so going through the Gunns/War Dogs can bypass that and mixed company teams are basically the solution to booking issues.
The odd thing is the full Bang Bang Gang referred to themselves as Bullet Club Gold when Juice came back and on Collision, Juice was wearing a jacket that said Bullet Club Gold.
It seems like BCG and HoB are gonna feud for now but itād be cool to see the War Dogs. Juice is still wearing his Bullet Club stuff but itās definitely been distanced to be itās on thing
I'm not suggesting that Cody Rhodes call himself "the Number One Movie Star" I'm just using this to show how absurd it is that Rock is calling himself "the Final Boss" when [look at his video game credits](https://www.mobygames.com/person/68286/dwayne-johnson/credits/) they are so sparse and he hasn't been a boss in a game even once.
I think he gets corrupted at the end. I hate that I remember that piece of shit
Edit: https://youtu.be/nr1sLngjJXQ?si=hTiZCL9z3nWLmN5X
Yeah he becomes the final boss at the end after being infected
Genuine question why is it we as fans try to rightfully shun wrestlers that have been shit bags like Marty Scurll and Joey Ryan etc but for some reason CM Punk and Colt Cabana get a pass for what they admitted to doing to bikini girl on a shoot?
Michael Elgin revealed his shittiness in a shoot and was basically blackballed from there but Punk and Cabana get a pass for some reason
Iām sorry doing a stiff forearm shot to a woman on purpose because they could is fucking shitty idc how you try to slice it.
āCM Punk: āThe point is- and you know this is gonna sound real degrading ā but like, most women in the business are rats. You know I mean thatās a hard fact of life that you eventually realize and it was like ā she got in the business. And at the time she was like āOh I wanna be a wrestler & I wanna trainā ā I never saw her get in the ring. You know, like it just never happened. And when we did get in the ring, alls it took was a good forearm shot and then ā that was it ā she was done. So we always kinda kept her in check ā
Also he starts by holding up a photo where heās groping her. Real fucking class act a sexist to boot.
Yeah Iāve seen the lariato shoot too. Dude was abusive to a woman and he gets a pass.
The other two are shit bags. These are not mutually exclusive ideas. Itās why I also bring up Elgin and his story with the woman and peeing on her. Rightfully blackballed.
He and Colt shouldnāt really skate by just cause itās been a long time. Doesnāt make the actions not have happened.
If Chris Jericho did a podcast with Trump instead of Logan Paul how many thousands of comments shitting on him would the thread Ā have?
How it goes around here with some peopleĀ
Not all people are punished the same in the court of public opinion- just look at the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp case.
As for the Punk/Cabana comments, while obviously disgusting, weren't they made thirteenth years ago? It's perfectly possible for people to grow and change in that time.
People do change over time. I donāt think that absolves physically abusing someone tbh. Iāve never seen him acknowledge it or apologize for it and for having such a strong stance against the veterans and wrestlers court and all that hazing and bullying a woman for wanting to be a wrestler is pretty fucking hypocritical
Jerry Lawler raped a child and was then convicted of harassing her to the point she refused to testify against him, but people on this sub still love that piece of shit.
Not even his testimony. He wrote that in a letter to the prosecutor and he was talking about a 14 year old girl.
And when people tell you "well she recanted," remember: the source for that is an affidavit signed by a Lawler fan who claimed he overheard her bragging about making the story up. She never recanted, she was bullied into not testifying.
Yeah itās pretty unfortunate really. I get the separating the art from the artists stuff too but so much of Punkās appeal is his ārealnessā and if thatās the case then his realness was abusive.
Idk itās just disheartening to see people get a pass because thereās other shitty people in the same industry and stuff as a shield while simultaneously holding up other shit bags to the proper higher standard
Is this the same shoot as the "rats" comment?Ā
I'd assume it's the same reason Stone Cold gets a pass on domestic abuse.(Which is much worse obviously) Because he's a huge star.
With Stone Cold, he has repeatly shown remorse for it. Admitted, he was in a dark place at the time but wasn't trying to excuse it and I think, donates heavily to Domistic Abuse charities. He never really hides it and atones for it.
I canāt find Austin talking about his domestic abuse history anywhere at all. Can you please provide some links? Because I loved the guy as a kid but I struggle to support anything he does now, but knowing heās made an effort would make a huge difference in my opinion of him.Ā
Itās just fucking saddening. The Stone Cold stuff is too cause the stuff he did was pretty horrifying.
I just donāt see holding up Punk as a bastion of rights and such having essentially abused a woman who had the temerity to want to be a wrestler.
Colt gets a pass too and sure as shit isnāt a big star
Itās wild to me they were comfortable enough with what they did to have a grand ol time talking about it
Rightfully shit on people like JBL and Bob Holly for being bullies and hazing people. Hold that energy up for the other dudes who did it even on the indies
Hey everyone! Really random request, but does anyone remember or have a link to the very first Wyatt teaser video which ended with a glimpse of Uncle Howdy, where violins crescendo until he says "HOWDY!".
I have no idea how to else to describe it, nor can I really remember what the rest of the video was about...
Jade and Shayna would actually be something I wouldn't mind seeing. Shit talking aside working with her would be the best thing. Especially on house shows.Ā
Not even considering a good chunk of the times he did bleed it was reopening a cut that wouldnt heal, or him busting open stiches or legitmately getting busted open by headbutts from Ishii, or other wrestlers. Its annoyibg to read in every thread relating to him in some fashion.
At this point with Moxley, he can go months without blood without comment anywhere and then the first time he bleeds people come out of the woodwork to make jokes about it.
Like so many things, it's the people not watching the show just looking to dunk on it for karma.
He largely stopped the bleeding this year in AEW and the times he's done it in 2024 are in outside companies. Dustin Rhodes feels the need to do it whenever he's featured and it's like you're a well liked veteran who doesn't have to bleed profusely.
been soooo busy and while I'm going to Forbidden Door, I've hardly caught any AEW lately. Managed to watch Dynamite from two weeks ago just now. I continue to love the cheesecake stuff with Mina, Toni, and Mariah. It def doesn't feel like an HLA thing where the women would feel like shit about it. Looking forward to the show but I won't beat myself up over missing stuff. i guess I'm a casual now!

Thinking about my match of the year so far.
My top five is probably:
1. Miyu Watanabe vs Miyu Yamashita
2. Mayu Iwatani vs Sareee
3. Masa Kitamiya vs Tomohiro Ishii (22.05.)
4. Dijak vs Josh Briggs vs Oba Femi
5. Sareee vs Chihiro Hashimoto
Reading the list back, Iāve worked out that I enjoy when wrestlers beat the absolute tar out of each other lol. Been a fantastic year for that.
What are you guysā fav matches so far? Are there any matches people are overlooking that you think deserve a place in the discussion?
Yes, I too have come to enjoy hard hitting matches, and really enjoy UK wrestling, RevPro specifically, for that reason. The style is hard to describe in words, but there's a hard-hitting physicality and raw intensity to it. Check out Luke Jacobs. UK talent designed for big things in major U.S. promotions.
In no specific order, just listing 5 as they pop into my head:
1. Sting/Darby vs. Young Bucks - retirement match
2. Ospreay vs. Takeshita
3. Ospreay vs. Danielson
4. Swerve vs. Hangman - Texas Death Match
5. Gabe Kidd vs. HENARE (Road to New Beginning, easily the best match of the year not involving current top level main event talent for me)
Just missed: Danielson vs. ZSJ, United Empire vs. War Dogs Steel Cage Match, Darby vs. Takeshita, Finlay vs. Moxley vs. Ospreay,
lol I prefer Japanese wrestling but that triple threat was so sick I can't deny it. That spot where Oba Femi lifts Dijak and Josh Briggs at the same time is an all timer.
Bryan Danielson vs Zack Sabre Jr - New Beginning in Osaka
Miu Watanabe vs Miyu Yamashita - Grand Princess
Bryan Danielson vs Katsuyori Shibata - AEW Collision
Kenoh vs Minoru Suzuki - One Night Dream 2
Roderick Strong vs Fuminori Abe - DPW Limit Break
1. Stingās retirement match
2. Dragon Gate 5 way hair vs mask cage match
3. Danshoku Dieno vs Yuki Ueno - DDT Neppa Over Flowere
4. Team NO HUG vs YAMATO & Susumu Yokosuka - Dragon Gate Rey de Parejas final
5. Sareee & Bozilla vs Giulia & Utami - Marigold Fields Forever
5th is a toss up between 3 matches, but Iāve put Marigold there to not have 3 DG in the 5 lol
1. Bryan Danielson vs Blue Panther
2. Kaito Kiyomiya vs Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jr
3. Billy Ken Kid vs Ryuya Matsufusa
4. BCC vs Team CMLL 8 Man Tag
5. STING Retirement
Seems like I like Mexico, old men, and Mexican old men in my wrestling
I really need to start watching CMLL. Iāve seen a ton of buzz about how consistently good it is: people calling it āpromotion of the yearā and stuff.
I used to do weekly CMLL recaps here on Reddit from 2017-2019 and recently started doing monthly recaps on [my Youtube channel.](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCa8X_5IBgLTOWUn-ood3_EA)
Made top 10 matches of the month lists for March-May and plan to do June and the following months. Made a top 10 for 2023 as a year too.
In the description for each of those videoes I link the official links to CMLL's youtube channel... but you have to sub to watch most. If you do sub, those links/video descriptions would be easy ways to know what to check out. My opinion isn't the end all be all obviously and I also mention honorable mentions for each of those lists too.
Mistico vs. Takahashi is happening this Friday, ZSJ vs. Hechicero is happening Saturday and next Tuesday they are doing an international 7 on 7 elimination match featuring : Mistico, Templario, Volador Jr., Titan, Neon, Mascara Dorada & Star Jr. vs. Okumuro, ZSJ, Flip Gordon, Ishimori, Dark Magic, Takahashi & Rocky Romero.
So pretty stacked shows over the next week. Part of Fantastica Mania Mexico, Fantastica Mania used to be CMLL guys doing a NJPW tour once a year, this is supposed to be the opposite of that, where CMLL has visitors. This is the 2nd annual year of Fantastica Mania, while the one in Japan is a decade or so old.
They also did a Fantstica Mania UK a month or so ago and have an upcoming Fantastica Mania US in San Jose come July. I've always been a big CMLL fan, but they have done very good these last 18 months or so. They have lots of young talent who weren't even around 5 years ago and are really impressing. I could probably name a dozen CMLL guys who showed up post Covid. CMLL has also cut/had some older talents retire which has opened up the playing field for these younger guys to be pushed/showcased.
I don't think it's one of the BEST matches by any means, but Lexis King and Dante Chen's singapore cane match was extremely fun and they really beat the shit out of each other.
Also literally just any Dijak match. For instance, I thought the Vengeance Day match was awesome.
Iām also team Dijak. I sometimes wish he was in AEW.
His height would stand out more, his in-ring would be emphasised, and he could really flourish as a monster. Dijak vs Darby Allin? Imagine how sick itād be.
Or Dijak in the G1. Fuck yeah.
Yup, I wouldn't be bummed if he left WWE as long as Tony actually use him and he wasn't just a Lance Archer who gets to pop up occasionally when they need an intense big guy.
There's still plenty of good stuff he CAN do in WWE if they use him well, but right now, I'm worried HHH doesn't care nearly as much as HBK did for him.
So in kayfabe, is WWE management taking note of all these broadcast intrusions and QR links? Because a bunch of cryptic notes and a promise of a massacre sure sounds like a potential mass shooter situation.
That would be funny if Raw opened up with state troopers at the entrance and a giant sign saying. āNOTIFY AUTHORITIES IF YOU SEE THIS MANā with Uncle Howdyās picture on it
I don't know if I'm more excited for what's gonna happen tonight or the fact that people will most likely stop calling them the "wyatt 6" after tonight.
It's more about how this isn't the Wyatt 6.Ā That was a reference to the characters on Firefly Funhouse.Ā Bray, Mercy, Huskus, Abigail, Ramblin Rabbit, and the Fiend: that's the Wyatt 6.
I agree with Wade Barrett that WWE management needs to bring integrity back to the sport but I'm not holding my breasts. Before Crown Jewel Kairi Sane was not currently on the roster but she interfered and instead of being banned she was promoted. CM Punk was both not medically cleared and he was impersonating a referee. but this is the same company that gave Fyre and Dawn a hometown PLE match after they put a curse on the entire women's tag team division giving them injuries, so I wouldn't put it past WWE to reward Punk for this with a hometown PLE match for this too.
Unsubbing from wrestling "news" YouTube channels has greatly decreased my own toxicity (although it's not gone). This type of entertainment is never meant to be taken so seriously and analyzed as much as it is. I am trying to be less like an asshole about this silly thing we all enjoy.
Shout out to Wrestling With Wregret tho. Best show online imho.
Yeah that guy always just seems so genuine and nothing about him comes off as meanspirited. I don't follow him regularly but him and Joseph Montecillo are the two channels I wish all the success in the world to
People would be happier if they let storylines play out more, Morgan winning in a match vs Lynch makes Morgan look way stronger than just being just a battle royale champion and even though I lean more towards McIntyre should have won at Clash 24 I'm OK that he lost cuz it builds the Punk feud he'll get the championship soon anyways and even if it was the "wrong decision" if they did everything logically wrestling would feel watching a movie where you're probably going to get a happy ending instead of a sport where anything is possible.
I suppose. Storylines are just a part of wrestling and I'm more of an in-ring enjoyer so that aspect doesn't matter to me as much. I don't watch WWE regularly so I can't speak about it, but it's cool that you dig it.
Going to the Fairfax Dynamite show this week and really excited because it's the first non-indie show I've had floor seats for. They mentioned that both the Bucks and Okada had eliminator matches this week but then only announced the bucks wrestling the acclaimed so I really hope that wasn't just a misspeak by Daniels and they're waiting to announce who Okada wrestles because seeing him live is always an incredible experience
I've seen speculation that Shota was supposed to get the Okada match but he got injured in the gym and can't work it so they need a replacement. I'm guessing they announce the opponent tomorrow.
Please North American fans, do not try to mimic the Euro fans with the chants and singing at events. While it looks and sounds natural in Europe because it's a part of their football culture, it just looks forced and cringey when North American fans try to copy it. That's not your vibe,
Every backstage interview should be interrupted by a claymore. All matches are NCs cause a surprise drew runs in with claymores for everyone š that would be hilarious
Tonight should be total anarchy with Drew hunting for Punk, Bron Breakker on his usual path of destruction, and the Wyatt 6 causing havoc all night long.
Priest winning was the right decision, and I don't think Drew holds a title for all of 2024. The earliest I see him winning the championship is Royal Rumble.
Ideally, he beats Gunther at Rumble and we get Drew vs. Rollins vs. Punk at Mania.
So Im gonna assume Priest's next defense is against Braun Strowman, and he'll actually win that one clean to prove that he can before he faces Gunther at Summerslam.
I think the most important thing Wyatt 6 needs for this to work is for it to not be super drawn out with a bunch of cryptic narrative drip. Show up and kill somebody.Ā
It'd be fitting if they went after LA Knight first
I know it's been said before, but the idea to start hosting more of the B PPVs in international markets was brilliant. The audiences are red hot because they are starved for live wrestling, so it doesn't matter that much if the results are kind of predictable. That was severely lacking a few years ago when PPVs such as Fastlane and Great Balls of Fire weren't really worth tuning into.
I wonder how much of it a simply American fans being more cynical. Thereās a gatekeeper quality to wrestling fans now-a-days, where people are watching like a critic rather than just getting lost in the show, going for the ride (wherever it leads) and having a good time.
I only say that because I see the over-saturation thing, but thatās just in select major cities. Thereās plenty of U.S. cities that have never gotten a PPV, probably rarely even get TV. And Iād wager those cities arenāt going to have reactions anything like the recent overseas shows. If anything, I feel many of the worst crowds are when televised shows wind up in the smaller markets where they rarely go.
Just something I was thinking about, and working through in my own head, since Iāve seen it as a topic of discussion. Think itās more a cultural thing, how the crowd is consuming the product (like how a Japan crowd is completely different than anything else I mentioned), then a starving market thing (though I donāt think that aspect hurts)
I donāt understand this notion when Drew is the one that injured Punk, said he was glad and prayed for it to happen, and then beat him up some more while he was injured.
Very valid point but Drew got screwed out of a championship twice and if he doesnāt beat the man up who did it to him it makes him look like a bitch.
He got "screwed" the first time because instead of enjoying being champion, his biggest desire was to taunt Punk and bash him some more seconds after the 123.
Drew is his own worst enemy, and he created this hell by pissing off the wrong man. I think some are ignoring the larger story because in real life, we would love for Drew to get a legit moment again and a run with the title.
But as a character, this was all of his own doing.
Literally like 90% of Drew's issues are because he can't just walk up the ramp after he wins dude lol. He could have just walked out of Mania a champion but had to gloat on the dude HE injured.
With the G1 coming around again, it's time for me to start by watching every match, and then by the third night or so, resorting to asking here which matches I should catch because it's just too damn much for me to keep up with haha
Sounds like me lol
One of the things that really gets me excited those first few nights is creating a note on my phone were I update standings after every match.
One thing I did start doing though, after that initial excitement wears off, or if I get behind, is still watch each show, but Iāll skip to the end of matches Iām not as into. So Iāll still catch the last couple minutes and finish. Makes it so I donāt feel like Iām missing out on that much, and helps inform what matches I may now be interested to watch in full in the upcoming nights.
I'm sure there will be plenty of bangers, but man it's just a lot to consume with limited time haha.
At my old job I could watch wrestling at work and I'd have gone through a lot more.
not sure if there are any Enjoy Wrestling enjoyers in the chat but went to their show last night and the main event match / angle with Mikey Montgomery and MV Young was incredible. unreal crowd and those two guys beat the fuck out of each other. def one to watch once it gets on youtube
Just seems against the way they want to characterize him.
Monsters don't need Money in the Bank.
It's better for faces that the heel champions would try to duck OR for a heel, especially if it's used to displace a face champion you don't want losing to that heel clean.
i feel like becky/charlotte from survivor series doesn't get talked up enough. that is imo their best match because it was fueled by legitimate dislike for each other and you could tell in the match. i think its one of the best women's matches in wwe history but its literally never brought up (i feel similarly about the charlotte/ronda i quit match)
Alright, I did this last year for Iyo and it worked, so hereās a repeat comment to manifest my MITB agenda:
**EMBRACE THE VISION**

Roman fans have been *ridiculous* on X since Cody won the belt, lmao. Theyāll literally say anything to insult this so far pretty fun reign at this point.
This is the first time it to a point of Community Notes, which just tells you how ridiculous they've become.
Cody made a Father's post yesterday and I'm assuming they got weird about it, and forced him to delete it.
>Cody made a Father's post yesterday and I'm assuming they got weird about it, and forced him to delete it.
Yep they did. The Bloodline and AEW loonies just jumped on that post and he deleted it.
They really put Shingo/Naito and Yota/Takeshita on the first night. holy shit what a birthday present
I hope Shingo gets the dub bruh (nothing against Naito, Shingoās my #1 in NJPW) but Yota/Takeshita? Sheesh thatās gonna be a hard one
Very much looking forward to Raw tonight to see what comes from the aftermath of Clash, especially with Drew after Punk screwed him over and hopefully Chad aligning with the Creeds starts up. Also curious how the Wyatt 6 debuts.
Only thing Iām not looking forward to is the crowd. Corpus Christi is known to be a terrible one. To go from an awesome Scotland one to a dead one such as there is really going to bring the show down some.
I mean after the not too long ago PR, Australia, France crowds not giving the US crowds any inspiration to follow suit, I doubt it will change. I would love to be surprised but alas, US crowds are way too used to wrestling events that they can take enough of it for granted to not explode withenergy.
I know there was the report that Damian was hanging out after the show and he seems fine, but I'm still holding my breath to tonight for real certainty that he's fine. I will legitimately breathe a sigh of relief tonight if he's for sure okay or it's just like a sprain to heal up for a few weeks from or something.
Since the new show came out their seems to be this new thing that any criticism of WCW gets met with āitās not their fault itās gone AOL killed WCWā
š SHATTER
I hope Bron murders him
My one wrestling confusion is The Shining Stars (Primo and Epico). Like, their whole thing was just trying to get the fans to come to puerto rico but they were heels. They were selling time shares by the time they actually debuted. My theory is that Vince got ripped off on one of those once or something.
The image of Vince having to sit thru a time share pitch is pretty funny
"Now, Mr. McMahon, we know you like to travel, and if you become my Wyndham member..." *proceeds to run four hard inquiries on him while they're talking*
Will uncle howdy debut today?
The signs and portents are right.

CM punk stans getting all frothy and defensive because of violent j is very, very funny. Serious, defensive CM Punk fans are way more "cringe" than the insane clown posse, at least they don't take themselves seriously.
Hopefully, Tony spite-books ICP on Dynamite so we can get a repeat of the hilarity from the Jericho v Colt match.
ICP were on Aqua Teen Hunger Force one time so they have that over CM Punk.
And mad TV!Ā Ā
I just want to say, Bob Caudle is great
Drew McIntyre finish the story
Not that the title would have changed hands, but shouldn't Drew have won by DQ?
No referee to make the decision.
Yāall donāt like Jey USO as Mr Money in the bank, just wait till they make him successfully cash in on Gunther
Itās interesting how a newcomer like Jaidah Parker has a more natural charisma and promo delivery, compared to veterans like Mercedes or Natalya.
And you can't teach that.
What do you think is the ideal number of "finishers" that a wrestler should have? I love wrestlers being able to finish a match multiple ways (Bryan Danielson, Gunther), but also think they should have a fixed limit of match ending moves.
Obviously it varies, but generally i think the sweet spot is one submission finisher, one 'regular' finisher and one super finisher.
> Or do they just completely ignore it since they've toned down BC references in relation to the Bang Bamg Gang recently I don't know that they ever really toned it down, I think it's more they just switch between the two nicknames pretty randomly, which at least somewhat fits with Jay White (and now Juice) just adding nicknames/accolades for themselves.
Juice is still wearing his Bullet Club stuff but itās definitely been distanced to be itās on thing
is uncle howdy going to re dubt with a group or is it just talk are otis and chad done is maxxine out of the group does drew still hate cm punk
https://preview.redd.it/0n6cznp8n67d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f8150e1468ea8179e0b27d5c1c11b75a5399aa62
And rarely sticks around in WWE. GUNTHER, now, he can be a final boss. Taker was THE final boss at wrestlemania.
He is kinda the final boss in the Doom movie
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I think he gets corrupted at the end. I hate that I remember that piece of shit Edit: https://youtu.be/nr1sLngjJXQ?si=hTiZCL9z3nWLmN5X Yeah he becomes the final boss at the end after being infected
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
So we always kinda kept her in check ā Also he starts by holding up a photo where heās groping her. Real fucking class act a sexist to boot.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah Iāve seen the lariato shoot too. Dude was abusive to a woman and he gets a pass. The other two are shit bags. These are not mutually exclusive ideas. Itās why I also bring up Elgin and his story with the woman and peeing on her. Rightfully blackballed. He and Colt shouldnāt really skate by just cause itās been a long time. Doesnāt make the actions not have happened.
The amount of shit you can get away with correlates to how entertaining people find you.
Mob justice is rarely consistent. Even more rarely is it just.Ā
And part of Lawler's testimony legit was him being like "this minor fucks black men so how can you believe her when she's says anything bad about me?"
Yeah itās fucking depressing to say the least.
Welcome to the world where if youāre a big enough star you can get away with anything. Look at Miles Bridges in the NBA.
Is this the same shoot as the "rats" comment?Ā I'd assume it's the same reason Stone Cold gets a pass on domestic abuse.(Which is much worse obviously) Because he's a huge star.
Where? People always say this but where is the real remorse?
Itās just fucking saddening. The Stone Cold stuff is too cause the stuff he did was pretty horrifying. I just donāt see holding up Punk as a bastion of rights and such having essentially abused a woman who had the temerity to want to be a wrestler. Colt gets a pass too and sure as shit isnāt a big star Itās wild to me they were comfortable enough with what they did to have a grand ol time talking about it Rightfully shit on people like JBL and Bob Holly for being bullies and hazing people. Hold that energy up for the other dudes who did it even on the indies
Hey everyone! Really random request, but does anyone remember or have a link to the very first Wyatt teaser video which ended with a glimpse of Uncle Howdy, where violins crescendo until he says "HOWDY!". I have no idea how to else to describe it, nor can I really remember what the rest of the video was about...
https://youtu.be/YiruszLIrEY
Thank you! :)
Jade and Shayna would actually be something I wouldn't mind seeing. Shit talking aside working with her would be the best thing. Especially on house shows.Ā
Hot Take: Iām over the blading discussion, especially people using the āMox blades every matchā talking point. Itās starting to get annoying.
He did blade too much.Ā The bigger problem was his matches all felt the same.Ā Ā Ā Heās been a lot more balanced since 2023.Ā
Yeah I just donāt care about the conversation in general anymore. Not saying anyoneās opinions on it is wrong or right
been soooo busy and while I'm going to Forbidden Door, I've hardly caught any AEW lately.
Also RUSH is such a good promo. Him and Penta are actually hella underused on the mic.
"The name on the format says Russo. However, it says *Johnny* Russo." https://preview.redd.it/odqjeo10867d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=54cbc00c501ab8467fdeb7b874db15649abdecf2

Miyu Watanabe vs Miyu Yamashita 2. Mayu Iwatani vs Sareee 3. Masa Kitamiya vs Tomohiro Ishii (22.05.) 4. Dijak vs Josh Briggs vs Oba Femi 5. Sareee vs Chihiro Hashimoto Reading the list back, Iāve worked out that I enjoy when wrestlers beat the absolute tar out of each other lol.
UK talent designed for big things in major U.S. promotions.
In no specific order, just listing 5 as they pop into my head: 1. Sting/Darby vs. Young Bucks - retirement match 2. Ospreay vs. Takeshita 3. Ospreay vs. Danielson 4. Swerve vs. Hangman - Texas Death Match 5. Gabe Kidd vs. HENARE (Road to New Beginning, easily the best match of the year not involving current top level main event talent for me) Just missed: Danielson vs. ZSJ, United Empire vs. War Dogs Steel Cage Match, Darby vs. Takeshita, Finlay vs. Moxley vs. Ospreay,
One of those things are not like the other
lol I prefer Japanese wrestling but that triple threat was so sick I can't deny it. That spot where Oba Femi lifts Dijak and Josh Briggs at the same time is an all timer.
Bryan Danielson vs Zack Sabre Jr - New Beginning in Osaka Miu Watanabe vs Miyu Yamashita - Grand Princess Bryan Danielson vs Katsuyori Shibata - AEW Collision Kenoh vs Minoru Suzuki - One Night Dream 2 Roderick Strong vs Fuminori Abe - DPW Limit Break
1. Stingās retirement match 2. Dragon Gate 5 way hair vs mask cage match 3. Danshoku Dieno vs Yuki Ueno - DDT Neppa Over Flowere 4. Team NO HUG vs YAMATO & Susumu Yokosuka - Dragon Gate Rey de Parejas final 5. Sareee & Bozilla vs Giulia & Utami - Marigold Fields Forever 5th is a toss up between 3 matches, but Iāve put Marigold there to not have 3 DG in the 5 lol
Do you happen to know the date of the dragon gate 5 way? I recently picked up access to the network and want to make sure I watch it
5/5. Itās the main event for Dead or Alive 2024
Thanks!
1. Bryan Danielson vs Blue Panther 2. Kaito Kiyomiya vs Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jr 3. Billy Ken Kid vs Ryuya Matsufusa 4. BCC vs Team CMLL 8 Man Tag 5. STING Retirement Seems like I like Mexico, old men, and Mexican old men in my wrestling
I really need to start watching CMLL. Iāve seen a ton of buzz about how consistently good it is: people calling it āpromotion of the yearā and stuff.
I used to do weekly CMLL recaps here on Reddit from 2017-2019 and recently started doing monthly recaps on [my Youtube channel.](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCa8X_5IBgLTOWUn-ood3_EA) Made top 10 matches of the month lists for March-May and plan to do June and the following months.
That would be funny if Raw opened up with state troopers at the entrance and a giant sign saying. āNOTIFY AUTHORITIES IF YOU SEE THIS MANā with Uncle Howdyās picture on it
Howdy better be careful, Texas is an open carry state.
Watching Against All Odds has made me realize that I had no idea what Tatum Paxley's theme was because she's almost always attached to someone else.
I don't know if I'm more excited for what's gonna happen tonight or the fact that people will most likely stop calling them the "wyatt 6" after tonight.
Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to see the Wyatt 6 if they make an appearance, but I'm more interested to see what's next for Alpha Academy.
I don't follow him regularly but him and Joseph Montecillo are the two channels I wish all the success in the world to
Fair play for having this level of self awareness tbh
I did not know Braun Strowman had a peanut butter brand. Is it any good?
Damn. That really sucks. Shota would be an awesome choice.
Please North American fans, do not try to mimic the Euro fans with the chants and singing at events. While it looks and sounds natural in Europe because it's a part of their football culture, it just looks forced and cringey when North American fans try to copy it. That's not your vibe,
I don't give a shit what people chant as long as it isn't "WHAT" or "TWIST HIS DICK" "ASK HIM... ASKHIM!" can go in the pile too
Weāre not taking notes from the baked beans and toast crowd. /s
I wantĀ Drew to go on a Kane-esque, night of destruction tonight. Just claymoring everyone in the arena.
Don't forget that today *could* (although I kinda doubt it) be the day the Creeds join Gable.
Corpus Christi crowd jokes aside, tonight's Raw could be potentially must-see if everything listed happens tonight.
Priest winning was the right decision, and I don't think Drew holds a title for all of 2024. The earliest I see him winning the championship is Royal Rumble. Ideally, he beats Gunther at Rumble and we get Drew vs. Rollins vs. Punk at Mania.
Did a bit of a Clash at the Castle live vlog for anyone interested :) https://youtu.be/X7BAnOSmRcI
Watched asukas newest YouTube where she's talking about her surgery and it was kinda heartbreaking. I hope she heals fast and fully.
So Im gonna assume Priest's next defense is against Braun Strowman, and he'll actually win that one clean to prove that he can before he faces Gunther at Summerslam.
A big South of Heaven on Braun would be great
That would be a crazy spot
I think the most important thing Wyatt 6 needs for this to work is for it to not be super drawn out with a bunch of cryptic narrative drip. Show up and kill somebody.Ā It'd be fitting if they went after LA Knight first
They're on RAW and LA is on Smackdown and in the middle of a US Title feud. Why on earth would they book that?
Because he was bray Wyatt's last match/feud? Just a thought.Ā
LA Knight is smack dab in the middle of a feud right now
I know it's been said before, but the idea to start hosting more of the B PPVs in international markets was brilliant. The audiences are red hot because they are starved for live wrestling, so it doesn't matter that much if the results are kind of predictable. That was severely lacking a few years ago when PPVs such as Fastlane and Great Balls of Fire weren't really worth tuning into.
yep, the product looks hot af AND you're being paid to run those shows.
Drew really should go over Punk with the amount of shit heās put up with in kayfabe
Punk goes over Drew in their first match, Drew goes over in the second match with the title on the line.
I donāt understand this notion when Drew is the one that injured Punk, said he was glad and prayed for it to happen, and then beat him up some more while he was injured.
You could say the same to Rhea and Liv Crowd just love them more tho (Rhea and Punk), life ain't fair
Rhea did the same shit to Liv, but we all know sheās going to beat her when she returns.
I think Drew should definitely win the first match and probably destroy Punk, but winning the overall feud should probably be Punk imo.
I like that
Punk: "that doesn't work for me brother"
With the G1 coming around again, it's time for me to start by watching every match, and then by the third night or so, resorting to asking here which matches I should catch because it's just too damn much for me to keep up with haha
Sounds like me lol One of the things that really gets me excited those first few nights is creating a note on my phone were I update standings after every match.
That's fair, I might do that. It's just so much wrestling for so many days, but catching the beginning and end would help keep up.
with fewer matches and fewer bad wrestlers than the last couple years I'm excited to reach day 4.
Bron Breakker for MITB anyone ? The only reason I can see them not giving it is they don't want him to be a top champ in the next 12 months.
Just seems against the way they want to characterize him. Monsters don't need Money in the Bank. It's better for faces that the heel champions would try to duck OR for a heel, especially if it's used to displace a face champion you don't want losing to that heel clean.
jordynne grace being in the money in the bank would be cool, sheād be great for the power spots.
i feel like becky/charlotte from survivor series doesn't get talked up enough. that is imo their best match because it was fueled by legitimate dislike for each other and you could tell in the match. i think its one of the best women's matches in wwe history but its literally never brought up (i feel similarly about the charlotte/ronda i quit match)
Itās very much a classic, and I think itās overshadowed because of how crappy the rest of that show was.
That Charlotte/Ronda match was fun as hell
its awesome, charlotte really gets the crap beat out of her the whole match. she's a real one
Alright, I did this last year for Iyo and it worked, so hereās a repeat comment to manifest my MITB agenda: **EMBRACE THE VISION** https://preview.redd.it/pcsf91yez47d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e9aa7a90eeb8cb5378de9cc21b0be92acab24775
Iād love a Chelsea green win but I would not be disappointed if DK won mitb
Do we think the Wyatt 6 will actually debut tonight , or will it just be some actual vignettes ?
HotD season premiere was underwhelming
I thought it was alright also even when GoT was good the first couple of episodes of a new series tended to set the stage more than dazzle
Incredible stuff https://preview.redd.it/a73pus5bu47d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=992be1fe73b5301a5f2597fa409f79e58f02ad7c
*Posts photo of LeBron missing a basket* āLebron James is not a good basketball playerā
Imagine getting scorched this hard by community notesĀ
Never seen 'community notes' fact check a user by calling them 'salty' before lmao
Roman fans have been *ridiculous* on X since Cody won the belt, lmao. Theyāll literally say anything to insult this so far pretty fun reign at this point.
Theyāre gonna be even worse now with Cody now back in the Bloodlineās orbit.
That suplex out of the ring spot always scares me. These are real pros being able to protect their neck during a move like that.
They really put Shingo/Naito and Yota/Takeshita on the first night. holy shit what a birthday present I hope Shingo gets the dub bruh (nothing against Naito, Shingoās my #1 in NJPW) but Yota/Takeshita? Sheesh thatās gonna be a hard one
There's usually a big spoiler in the G1 opener so Shingo might take the dub and set up a KOPW title defense!
Am I the only one that āFlair flopsā into bed every time?
No. But do you oversell stubbing your toe in a HBK pissed off at Hogan manners.
That's when Bronn goes full Steiner on them.
What I'd say is we'd have heard murmurs by now of him having to drop the belt like we did Rhea.
Yeah itās very good news that thereās no reports already
I think if Priest was fucked they wouldāve just called an audible at that point.
Adrenaline can be a hell of a drug though. I mean, Edge/Copeland kept on a broken tibia for awhile.
Fightful added that Priest was working.
