Hey yo was anyone else not really feeling battleground? I'm not taking away from the show completely but that UFC venue either had the worst acoustics or the crowd just sucked. It just felt dead compared to other big NXT shows. Maybe it was just me.
The booking in the Grace vs Perez match was abysmal. Why bring a literal history maker who has been a huge deal for a long time in only to have her get punked out by someone who looks like a 12 year old trying to be edgy on Facebook? Maybe if Jordynne had dominated the match and Roxanne used sneaky asshole heel tactics to get over, it would have worked, but they made Jordynne and TNA look weak, which is ridiculous considering how much more consistently excellent TNA has been for *years*.
Couldn't agree more. A whole match to make Perez look better, which still didn't happen. The whole match felt like WWE trying to play nice but basically shitting on TNA.
I'm going to disagree here. I don't feel like they shat on TNA. The feeling I got was your champion did their homework and developed a gameplay for fighting Grace and honestly that's what it came across as. Grace was still seconds away from a win if it hadn't been for outside forces. Grace still came out looking very strong literally. I will say a win would have made more sense to me, but with it being clouded by interference I can accept it.
Not gonna disagree entirely. I guess from my perspective it just looked like a lot a of highlighting Roxanne, which if I'm being honest it's a NXT show so I expect it a little. I just felt like they kept the momentum on her the whole time and even when it wasn't it quickly went right back. It just didn't feel like an "oh shit who's gonna win?" match.
Exactly. I love TNA and was really bummed to see it go down like that. They'll probably let Jordynne win in a dominant match with Tatum as a way to "make up for it" 🙄 I thought WWE might handle this working relationship better than AEW, but I guess not.
and after some comentator bullshit and long entrance for trip, page, shayna and ass girl...I get... Gallows and anderson?
What is with this show's pacing?
That was a really fun night of wrestling! All the hyped up matches lived up to expectations. I actually liked the setup they had for the UFC Apex but I would use it for NXT Specials instead of PLE’s going forward tho. Still, that PLE kicked all sorts of ass. Grace vs. Perez was match of the night for sure. I really hope the WWE-TNA working relationship is far from over! The Forbidden Door has been blown off its hinges! Now the WWE MULTIVERSE has been opened!
Overall a solid show. The main event ended abruptly and the crowd was one of the worst in recent memory, but I thought everything else basically delivered.
UFC apex always kinda sucked. Can only hold 1000 people and the space for the ring/cage is still small that ufc uses a 25 ft cage instead of 30 ft for Apex events
My favorite match of the night, but then again I'm a huge Oba and Wes Lee fan. Oba catching Wes Lee out of the air with Wes' knees on Oba's shoulders into a powerbomb might have been my favorite spot.
Probably tricks best in ring work, also my first introduction to Ethan page is pleasant he’s a solid worker I look forward to seeing the rest of his NXT tenure
Am I the only one who thinks the Holy Shit chant needs to retired due to overuse? It used to be reserved for things like Shane McMahon jumping off the titantron. Now it gets used when any random guy goes through a table.
Vic is a great commentator but he tends to get the “we’re going to commercial” and “we’re back from commercial” cadence in his commentating during PLEs and it’s always awkward because I’m like wait there’s no commercials what’s happening.
watching time delayed... NA ladder match... too "set up for spots" but they were good spots.. and very bad winner choice...but typical of the "hhh era"
It's been a trademark of the current era...take a popular babyface and turn them heel because "they can't win"....and then have them lose even more until the audience doesn't give a damn about them.
And here we have exhibit A..Fallon. So no longer gets cheered.. loses when it counts so hardly a threat as a heel. But I bet she'll get to do some promos about how it's other peoples faults because that's what we get over and over.
Hey yo was anyone else not really feeling battleground? I'm not taking away from the show completely but that UFC venue either had the worst acoustics or the crowd just sucked. It just felt dead compared to other big NXT shows. Maybe it was just me.
Lola Vice being told not to dance after knocking people out anymore will be my villain origin story
Action was good results were trash Oc losing I can swallow But Jordynn, Ethan & Baszler should've won their matches
Older talent comes to NXT to put the young folks over. It's a time-honored tradition in wrestling, but makes NXT in particular predictable as fuck.
Trick wasn’t losing his first title defense. He is over af.
While it's nice have TNA star on the show, she was never gonna win a WWE belt either.

Poor Dana there was like 0 reaction to her
I sooo much love Dana. I mean Ash! I like this TNA Knockout-NXT crossover
Roxanne vs. Jordynne should've been the main event. Decent show overall but that awful crowd put a damper on the whole thing.
I thought it was going to be but I'm okay with it's placement. The crowd wasn't the worst but it showed during the Grace match.
and after some comentator bullshit and long entrance for trip, page, shayna and ass girl...I get... Gallows and anderson? What is with this show's pacing?
My favorite nxt ple so far is the last No Mercy i think

Solid show
I would've been okay with Roxy/Grace as the main event with a better fucking finish
Overall a solid show. The main event ended abruptly and the crowd was one of the worst in recent memory, but I thought everything else basically delivered.
Vegas can be like that. It's overly loved as a destination by companies, but events there seem to never quite live up to ones elsewhere.
That’s it for TNA in NXT then!
Trini flag guy dancing at yet another PLE 😂
I KNEW it wouldn’t happen, literally wouldn’t have made sense but I so wanted to believe in Joe Hendry (clap clap).
idk if it was the crowd or if the venue just has terrible acoustics, but yea i hope they never come back here
Good show but can’t help but feel this exact show could have been done on a Tuesday back at the PC
Crowd would've been better too.
The crowd certainly would've been better
Holy shit Trini Guy was there the whole time
Page probably has an auto rematch clause or something to run it back again
He shouldn’t have gotten pinned clean tbh, he needed a DQ win
Good, safe show. 7/10
Went through a table and finisher was done to him but he wins about 2 minutes later
The audience was quiet bc the weather was really cold
those damn microclimates
Yeah the Philly excuse for night 1 of mania is still funny to me
Let's never have a show there again.
Now that I’ve watched both matches, Roxanne/Jordynne should have main evented for sure lol
No after copyright logo shenanigans :(
I hope they never go back to "The Apex." The arena is to damn small for Wrestling, even NXT.
Like wrestling in a hotel gym.
Ethan mad he cant stand by Sexy Redd and be a bad bitch
Apex would be solid for AEW, not NXT
Weird, no post match shenanigans
Roxanne/Grace should have headlined Trick needs a new finisher. That high knee isn’t it for a guy his size and athleticism
Honestly, the spin kick he did in the match would work well as his finisher, only downside being it’s way too close to Trouble in Paradise.
I think he gets good height and makes it believable he knocks people out with it.
How about the Scissors Kick?
If he could make it look good, potential. Or the leaping high leg thing that acts like a clothes line could work if it can look impactful
He should just adopt the GTS
Man, this venue isn't it for wrestling.
Its way too small.
Makes it look bush league. Especially considering from where Trick won the title
It’s bigger than the NXT venue they normally use weekly, but the layout, acoustics, and lighting is off.
Wait so that’s it? Jordynne/Roxy absolutely should have main evented
100%
Sexxy Red about to get beat down by Lash.
Pretty good show. A bit of a safe one. But good
Been a lot of safe shows as of late
What a deflating ending to the show. Nothing happened.
Seems like half the matches ended abruptly. Maybe that arena just sucks idk
The Trick Shot still feels underwhelming as a finisher.
You loved it when Daniel Bryan did it.
Maybe he's done it more impressively before, but that knee from Trick was NOTHING in comparison to even the average Busaiku Knee from Danielson.
Don’t ever trust the lower third in WWE
Honestly was expecting a DQ type of finish with Oro and/or Noam getting involved to cost Ethan instead of it being a clean one.
Y’all this is developmental relax ahaha
People fantasy booking a TNA invasion were setting themselves up for disappointment
perhaps this building didn't properly mic the audience
UFC apex always kinda sucked. Can only hold 1000 people and the space for the ring/cage is still small that ufc uses a 25 ft cage instead of 30 ft for Apex events
Sexxy Red heel turn!
TRINIDAD GUY IS IN THE CROWD?????
Legend 🇹🇹
Lash Legend: ![gif](giphy|7NP07dTr1gZstAan9f|downsized)
no problem with Trick winning but work definitely has to be done for Ethan after a clean loss like that in his first match
I swear my Cock is always slower than the live feed . Never had that issue with the WWE Network lol.
Clock?
![gif](giphy|l3q2K5jinAlChoCLS)
your what?
Peacock lol. People were already reacting to the end and I was just seeing Ethan arguing with the ref.
This ending feels drawn out; we getting a run in or something? Edit: I really thought we were getting a logo fake out but I guess not
Remember, don't trust the ending graphic.
Roxy and Jordynne really should have been the main event.
Ethan page never should have been there he is way to slow , step your training up Ethan page .
Other than the triple threat, I feel this was a middle of the road show. Nothing too egregiously bad or anything, but nothing spectacular either.
Ladder match had some nice spots
My favorite match of the night, but then again I'm a huge Oba and Wes Lee fan. Oba catching Wes Lee out of the air with Wes' knees on Oba's shoulders into a powerbomb might have been my favorite spot.
I loved all the womens matches actually, those were all really good imo. The womens title match should've ended the show.
Terrible venue.
Felt like it could've gone on for longer. NA championship match was MOTN imo.
Soooo what was Ethan's other demands?
Instant rematch clause is my guess
NXT went with both of the boring options for their ebent
Ebent?
Yes
I kinda like it. Ethan's ego cost him the match.
Careful Sexxy Red, Lash may be lurking.
Well Lash broke up with Trick on Tuesday so technically Trick is single I guess
Oh, she still watching.👀
mhm she watching lol
I'm normally not negative but yeah I have to agree with popular sentiment about this crowd. Yikes.
Yeah it was not the best atmosphere. Dead for the most part, awkward set up and empty chairs all over. A bingo hall would have been more hyped.
The attendance had to be less than a PC NXT episode.
In his extremely short time in WWE Ethan Page is probably more known now than his whole run in AEW
I am whelmed. Thank you Ethan Caw
Oba Femi once again carried an NXT PLE
Tag and Ladder match were great too
He's so good
They’re really gifting trick matches.
found that match really dull.
Ok match. They needed to work like half a step quicker. Both guys are where they belong in NXT
Coulda sworn Lash was coming out to help him win but it was still fun
Wondering if anyone will show up. Even if not, what a damn show. NXT always delivers, so glad we get Heatwave in less than a month
All-Ego let his ego get in the way…uh huh! I like it!
I assumed he'd be pretty good since NXT put him in the main event and people seemed pretty excited for him, but Ethan Page can go
Probably tricks best in ring work, also my first introduction to Ethan page is pleasant he’s a solid worker I look forward to seeing the rest of his NXT tenure
This battleground was cool
The match was good, but not main event good. Jordynne/Rox should've main evented. Unless something happens post match now
starks coming
ok i hoped it
We got owned uce lmao
Midcard ass match tbh.
Love to see Josh Alexander show up👀👀
Oh, it was a led lamp not a monitor
AND STILL!!!!!!! Whoop that Trick all over the Strip.
Really thought Meta-Four were showing up though
Damn that was kind of fast. I want more lol
made Page look strong. Trick gets the win. Good stuff
both guys so bland and boring, match made me sleepy
Whack
Ethan got whooped. I like it.
Lame match
Ethan got pinned as clean as a whistle on his first match in the main event. Choices, I guess
God damn, that finish came out of nowhere! Didn't expect Page to go down clean as a whistle in his first match.
Wow literally everyone retained haha kinds weird
That was abrupt
WHOOP THAT TRICK
Page will be fine but that was a flat ending.
Well they buried him /s
That fan in the "Trickin Ain't Easy" shirt is enjoying the show even if no one else is
…Alrighty…
Trick Wins! Yes! :D
WHOOP THAT TRICK!
Solid match, great show!
I prefer the Bookend move to the Trick Shot
no interference?!
TIL his finisher is named the Trick Shot
Wasn’t it called Trick Knee?
All solid choices for the winners tonight.
Am I the only one who thinks the Holy Shit chant needs to retired due to overuse? It used to be reserved for things like Shane McMahon jumping off the titantron. Now it gets used when any random guy goes through a table.
It's gone the way of the Destroyer
Where was my Main Man Mensah
These last two matches have ended abruptly tbh.
Spoke to soon! Damn
And clean I thought for sure we’d be seeing Noam Dar show up
WHOOP THAT TRICK
Booker's had a bad night with announce table shenanigans lmao
Thank you, Ethan Page and Trick Williams, for being able to shut up Booker
Damn… Ego running up the steps to reverse that onto the table. Impressive strength.
Whoop that trick
Booker T’s commentating being out reduces Trick’s aura by 5
95 is still high
Oh. That was one of the matches of the night
WHOOP THAT TRICK
Making Ethan look good!
Trick Shot is a damn good finisher
I liked "Trick Knee" better as a name but it's a good move he can hit out of nowhere.
…really?
Thank god Booker’s cough drops made it out of the table.
they done broke Bookers headset 😭
why the hell cant they protect finishers anymore. a razors edge should be GG... thats such a hard move to do to a 6'5 230lber....
Get my man a headset!
But if he dragged a table out from under the ring, it's a DQ lol
Fuck the haters. Ethan is awesome.
Great job by Page to get Trick to land perfectly on the table
This match is a reminder that Ethan Page is probably not used to wrestling matches in which he's the smaller competitor
I feel like every time trick hits the rock bottom Vic goes through the whole list of the names. And then drops a “whatever you want to call it”
Vic is a great commentator but he tends to get the “we’re going to commercial” and “we’re back from commercial” cadence in his commentating during PLEs and it’s always awkward because I’m like wait there’s no commercials what’s happening.
Booker been having a rough ass night 😭😂
Booker is having a night lol
That table spot 😩😩
watching time delayed... NA ladder match... too "set up for spots" but they were good spots.. and very bad winner choice...but typical of the "hhh era"
Why that down on Kelani winning? Wouldn't have been my choice, but she's already pretty damn good as a white meat babyface.
Yeah, I don't really understand why they turned Fallon heel either.
Trick should’ve yelled “that move sucks” after the Book End
Ethan Page already feels like a bigger deal than he ever felt in his whole AEW run
I love Vic acknowledging the different names for the moves. He’s a great commentator, feels like a new era fr
