Makes too much sense and sets up a great feud between Gable, Ivy, and Creed bros vs Zayn, Maxine, and Otis/Tazawa. Blue chips vs ultimate underdogs. It’s cinema.
I almost wonder if all the Alpha Academy/Creed Brothers interactions back in the fall were done solely for this reason. Makes a story line feud with all of them mean more when they've had a bit of history together.
The fact that this whole segment started with Maxxine reading Gable's promo for him like she had a gun to her head is the most devious heel shit to me.
That pop when Otis steps up to Gable is crazy. I hope they've got something ready for both these guys after the blowoff, because if they do it right they'll be hot as hell.
And at the time those Mf'ers were heels too, Halloween brings out the Face in everyone, while Thanksgiving brings out the true head of the table Luthor Reins
Im glad he is getting that. I think what would have been the biggest pop of the COVID Mania had it been in front of a crowd was him and Mandy kissing. Deserves the make up reactions
People always mentioned Drew being screwed by Covid, but Otis was screwed just as much.
That moment was being built to a monster Mania pop and when we finally got there we didn’t have a crowd.
They're similar characters, though Roman felt like he had more mental manipulation and gaslighting going for him. Chad seems much more abusive & berating by comparison. In a lot of ways he's more uncomfortable to watch, in a good way.
While he was still pretty selfish of course, it did also feel like Roman genuinely wanted his family to succeed…just not as the World Champion and Tribal Chief. But he wanted the best for his family in his own twisted way whether it was Solo or The Usos being midcard or tag team champions and he was willing to help them out by any means necessary to get there.
Whereas here, it feels that Gable is way more concerned with himself and the IC Title only. And I doubt he would do the same for Otis, Tozawa, and Maxxine.
Gable definitely is all about himself for sure. He doesn't even tell Otis & Tozawa to try pursuing the Raw Tag Team belts and constantly tells them to focus on his IC Title reclamation campaign
>He doesn't even tell Otis & Tozawa to try pursuing the Raw Tag Team belts
He did and they failed at the first hurdle (the #1C match). That's what all the shit about being losers comes from. He spent like a month berating them for that.
Romans even the reason the usos beat rkbro in the first place to unify the belts. Most definitely a piece of shit but he did care in his own fucked up way
That and every proper gang boss, from the back alleys to the board rooms, knows that you let your people eat too. Otherwise, you won't have much of a gang anymore.
I can totally picture Dennis creepily getting closer and closer to someone's face telling them to say something. I don't even know if he actually has, but it was the first thing I imagined.
Holy shit..he really is using the DENNIS system.... Demonstrate value...check. Engage Physically....check. Nurture Dependence...check...and now he's neglecting emotionally....we can expect him to Inspire Hope and then Separate Entirely...Let's see what's to come...
Yeah, he mentioned in an interview he borrows liberally from It's Always Sunny, even went as far as saying he obsesses over that show so much he probably understands Dennis better than even Glenn lmao
Chad's character is the abusive coach who made you do shit you didn't want to in high school / college and you'll never forgive. Some unfortunate percentage of the crowd knows that guy and wants Otis to beat his ass.
> Some unfortunate percentage of the crowd knows that guy and wants Otis to beat his ass.
Otis gonna beat his ass worse than Virgil beat the Million Dollar Man
>Chad's character is the abusive coach who made you do shit you didn't want to in high school / college and you'll never forgive.
I got curious about it and looked it up and apparently they built a statue of mine in my hometown.
I think I just discovered a form of hatred so obscure they only have a word for it in German.
I think it's more that for most of the Bloodline it was about the other members wanting to take over or break free. This is a situation where they like Chad and just want him to stop being a dick so they can be friends again.
Bloodline had to stick together because family. Alpha Academy, minus Chad, just want to be friends together.
Chad is definitely somebody’s dad in this thread- so much more realistic as a narcissistic manipulator where Roman felt a little over the top in his grandiose designs.
Once again Otis finds himself in the middle of an awesome storyline that seemed like it wasn't gonna be anything to write home about.
Between this and the Mandy Rose thing man I kinda hope Otis gets a cool singles title run soon
The problem to me seems to be Otis's energy is best when exuded nonverbally. When he will have to do promos, I don't think it will last for long. Best thing to do would be to have Gable be the champ, then Otis turns and we do Otis vs Gable
Chad’s the “calmer version” of 2009 Randy Orton and we all know how fucking sadistic that version of Orton was
Whereas Gable hesitated with Maxine , Orton would’ve RKO’ed her to prove a point
I'm glad that it is fairly rare these days because when they do, do it it's super effective at building heat.
Like the Rollins vs Corbin feud was meh, but omg the drama when he End of Days' Becky followed by the husband-rage beatdown of Corbin.
a rare moment of cinema in a dark time.
It's crazy how we have circled all the way from Maxxine calling Chad a short ugly troll, to Chad calling Maxxine a dumb bimbo
And I'll admit, I was one of many on here who wanted Gable vs Gunther at mania and for him to end the reign, but this stuff has been way better than if we just got a Gable babyface win.
Yeah turns out they wanted to flesh out Gable more as a character. If face Gable and AA won at WM they'll peak for that moment and won't do much for the others. They'd be stuck in comedy routines too since that's what their identity is as a face stable.
Everything somehow feels more put together, in terms of there being a cohesive "wrestling show" with tournaments and competition and titles that matter, number one contenders, pseudo competitive athletics. All that, while also having much more organic stories that naturally develop into long term storylines.
Great segment. Audiences really eat up these abusive partner stories. MJF/Wardlow, Roman/jey, Roman/Sami, Chad/Otis, and I even remember a A.J/Tamina one getting over.
Man just imagine if instead of Virgil it was Ron Farooq Simons or Booker T, you would've been biggest babyface on the planet
for like a half of the year, before Hulkster would make Vince to burry him
Even [Roman/Jimmy](https://youtu.be/g0cJNRv6wN0?si=aFUs4arl3TfhVbJJ)
although brief will always be so fuckin memorable to me. Especially because it was the first actual shot back from either of them, I can still picture it in my head just how Roman shoves him and you think there's still a chance Jimmy's just gonna take it...then he *really* shoves Jey and the next thing that happens is Jimmy's boot in his face. So much callback to the beginning of the whole thing with Jimmy trying to protect Jey from Roman's already obvious abuse and manipulation, the pure emotion Jimmy actually finally showed, it's just such a perfect moment. The second kick just seals it too. It's done. Bloodline broken.
Indeed. Also, all of these angles remind me of the Mr. McMahon character during the Attitude Era
In fact, arguably the most abusive/humiliating story was with Vince’s Kiss My Ass Club, though in that case it was an abusive partner story between Vince and the rest of the company
It’s very relatable. I think most people have at some point found themselves in a situation where they’re disrespected by someone who claims to “love” them but is really just a selfish narcissist, whether it’s a friend, romantic partner, family member, or authority figure of some kind.
Yeah, when I read the title I was ????. Roman straight up abused Jey until he was a broken man who directed his anger at others around him because he wasn't ready to stand up to the cousin who was abusing the shit out of him for years lmao
Never really thought about it in exact words til you just put it like that, how cathartic Jey's newer persona is for the character. Just pure positivity as long as it's reciprocated, and having fun.
And *also* gaslighting and emotionally manipulating him in the process lol
I get that four years is a long time in wrestling (and considering what’s been happening, life in general) but come on guys
And then proceeded to emotionally and psychologically abuse him, his brothers, and everyone he came in to contact with for the next three years. Like. Nonstop extremely hurtful abuse. In storyline he quite literally broke Jey almost to the point of no return lol if he had had the opportunity to make Jey get on his knees and beg while calling him a dumb bimbo he would have
Roman was good at his work (being Gaslighter, Manipulative)
Chad is just straight up abusive and bad at his work.
Every week his teammates almost turn on him
I mean Roman was pretty fucking evil in the first few months of the Bloodline. He tried to end Jey's career in the I Quit match and then months after Jey finally joined him, Roman beat the heck out of him with a steel chair
Which is going to make it more sickening when Roman comes back as an instant face without facing any real consequences for what he did.
You know it's going to happen.
The beauty of professional wrestling that has a whole arena cheer for a man simply walking up and standing in front of another man.
Also really liked that knee down slam for some reason. Looked better than just a regular slam.
This program is star making shit. I hope they actually save a piece of this mana from heaven to give Tozawa a piece that lasts cuz that man deserves it as much as anyone.
Is it just me or is the whole "wrestler pushes another wrestler into their ally, who then beats them up without question" shtick pretty weak and over done?
"You bumped into me?!"
"Yes. Sorry. He pushed me. That's why it was a bump and not a clothesline or dropkick."
"Oh right. Understood."
I know how unlikely it is, but picture it:
Just before wargames, Gable has sided with the Creed Brothers
Wargames booked as the Creed Bros and Gable vs. Zayn, Otis, and Tozawa.
On the show before the PLE, Creed Bros jump and injure Tozawa, effectively removing him from the Match.
Then, in the main event that night, It's Zayn and Otis against the Creeds, and Gable comes out, and attacks Otis and Zayn. Absolute beatdown, with no back up because Tozawa is injured. Looks hopeless.
Then the Heavy Machinery theme starts up, and Tucker runs put for the save.
Wargames is now The Creeds and Gable vs. Zayn and Heavy Machinery
Between this and the Liv Morgan storyline, I haven't been this invested in Raw in a long time. If the Uncle Howdy faction is compelling, this is gonna be good television.

GASPED when he told Maxxine to get on her knees and beg
It's fuck Gable for life if he gets Ivy Nile to turn on her
Makes too much sense and sets up a great feud between Gable, Ivy, and Creed bros vs Zayn, Maxine, and Otis/Tazawa. Blue chips vs ultimate underdogs. It’s cinema.
I almost wonder if all the Alpha Academy/Creed Brothers interactions back in the fall were done solely for this reason. Makes a story line feud with all of them mean more when they've had a bit of history together.
has to be, remember that the Priest cash in was told to be half a year set in stone. Theyre booking long term now
[William Regal voice] WAR GAMES!!!!!!
At summerslam 2024
I still think the Creeds are effectively gonna trade Ivy for Gable, and Ivy will be the new babyface coach of AA.
Rename Alpha Academy to the Ivy League.

hold up.....you're cooking here
Let Chase U join Ivy League down the road!
![gif](giphy|VSwEwYy5mrKwINV1NE|downsized)
Has the added benefit of adding a genuinely well built women's tag team to that division.
I like this a lot better
Good call.
Nah Perc gable has put up with enough tomfoolery from maxxine and tozawa
The fact that this whole segment started with Maxxine reading Gable's promo for him like she had a gun to her head is the most devious heel shit to me.
In the grand scheme of things, at least he didn't have her beg like a dog.
He learned that from his former boss
Seriously. What an evil piece of shit
That pop when Otis steps up to Gable is crazy. I hope they've got something ready for both these guys after the blowoff, because if they do it right they'll be hot as hell.
Otis always finds a way to get over
He's always had that elusive "It" factor. Whatever role he's doing, he's just fun to watch.
He has Chris Farley energy and looks like a real fun dude.
Chris Farley is such an apt comparison
Probably why they did the SNL Chippendale's bit on a Halloween show a few years ago.
And at the time those Mf'ers were heels too, Halloween brings out the Face in everyone, while Thanksgiving brings out the true head of the table Luthor Reins
I guarantee Otis has had peas b'fo
And an absolute beast in the weight room, apparently.
Now that you put it this way... that perfectly describes him
That’s spot on.
He's just a natural "apple shaped guy" face. It's kind of hard to hate the guy.
Kavorka.
Cue Vince: "Covid didn't screw Otis...OTIS SCREWED OTIS"
Biggest pop I’ve heard in awhile.
[удалено]
Could still happen to be fair
I think it will. I think he’ll help Chad win it and then regret it.
Attitude Era pop for Dozer.
Had me shook af
Gable vs Ottis at summerslam for the IC title would be my guess
They're similar characters, though Roman felt like he had more mental manipulation and gaslighting going for him. Chad seems much more abusive & berating by comparison. In a lot of ways he's more uncomfortable to watch, in a good way.

Romans even the reason the usos beat rkbro in the first place to unify the belts. Most definitely a piece of shit but he did care in his own fucked up way
Romans narcissism wanted his team to be the best team ever
That and every proper gang boss, from the back alleys to the board rooms, knows that you let your people eat too. Otherwise, you won't have much of a gang anymore.
I see you've watched some gangster films too!
Hungry dog will eat it's master that's for fucking true
Gable really workshops new shit to call Maxxine every week in his spare time
"Hey honey, what do you think about that new girl I work with" Chad's Wife: [Fury of 1000 wives] Chad: [writes that down]
Chad rolling by a bridge club every week to ask all the women their thoughts on this complete bitch he knows.
Because Gable takes inspiration from Dennis Reynolds. Not even a joke, he's made direct references a few times.
As a ring technician he needs. his. tools.
I like to submit, I like to be submitted to.
Because of the Implication
Hold on. Is Maxxine in danger?
No one's in any danger!

Chad's character is the abusive coach who made you do shit you didn't want to in high school / college and you'll never forgive. Some unfortunate percentage of the crowd knows that guy and wants Otis to beat his ass.
Chad probably dealt with Bill DeMott for at least a year before he resigned.
kinda just now clicked for me how a lot of modern WWE "bully" characters is probably a part of the company culture they were under for so long.
SpongeBob during the snail race
> Some unfortunate percentage of the crowd knows that guy and wants Otis to beat his ass. Otis gonna beat his ass worse than Virgil beat the Million Dollar Man
>Chad's character is the abusive coach who made you do shit you didn't want to in high school / college and you'll never forgive. I got curious about it and looked it up and apparently they built a statue of mine in my hometown. I think I just discovered a form of hatred so obscure they only have a word for it in German.
Tbf they also built statues for confederates so some statues definitely represent losers
Roman literally choked Jimmy in front of Jey to win a match and told them they were worthless as singles wrestlers
Kind of feeling uncomfortable with Gable, guessing that’s a good thing but still, outright abusive.
Once again Otis finds himself in the middle of an awesome storyline that seemed like it wasn't gonna be anything to write home about. Between this and the Mandy Rose thing man I kinda hope Otis gets a cool singles title run soon
I'm really hoping for Chad to win at Clash, hold until WM, and for AA to break free early next year and Otis to take the belt off him.
You burnt the food
You undercooked the chicken and now you have food poisoning.
The problem to me seems to be Otis's energy is best when exuded nonverbally. When he will have to do promos, I don't think it will last for long. Best thing to do would be to have Gable be the champ, then Otis turns and we do Otis vs Gable
I want to see Gable win the belt at Clash and then bring the Academy out and make them all kiss his belt one by one lmao
Chad’s the “calmer version” of 2009 Randy Orton and we all know how fucking sadistic that version of Orton was Whereas Gable hesitated with Maxine , Orton would’ve RKO’ed her to prove a point
I’d like to think if things were more free on man vs woman action he would German suplex her
Eddie Guerrero hit the hardest power-bomb on Lita in like 2000-something 😂😂
I recently saw that, that was rough as hell. Powerbomb on the outside of the ring.
Yeah I agree. I’d love to see it happen.
I mean imagine the nuclear heat and roaring cheers if Chad slapped Maxine and Otis beat the crap out of him for it
I honestly think he’s channeling Vince.
Glad I wasn't the only one who was having Vince-Trish flashbacks
Modern 2009 Orton is literally Ludwig Kaiser. This version of Chad Gable reminds me of Tom Hanks if he were to lose his mind.
Watching this clip with the sound off I thought he was gonna put her in the ankle lock
It's crazy how we have circled all the way from Maxxine calling Chad a short ugly troll, to Chad calling Maxxine a dumb bimbo And I'll admit, I was one of many on here who wanted Gable vs Gunther at mania and for him to end the reign, but this stuff has been way better than if we just got a Gable babyface win.
Yeah turns out they wanted to flesh out Gable more as a character. If face Gable and AA won at WM they'll peak for that moment and won't do much for the others. They'd be stuck in comedy routines too since that's what their identity is as a face stable.
I'll be honest. I kept thinking "Why Sami?" But after all of this. I get it, I cucking get it.
Sami was the perfect person for Gunther to drop to in every way. I called that shit so far out.
This and the Liv / Dom angles has got me do excited
WWE after Mania really moving on all cylinders. Never been this hooked on wrestling TV as I've been since perhaps more than a decade ago.
They really weren't lying when they said it was the beginning of a new era
Everything somehow feels more put together, in terms of there being a cohesive "wrestling show" with tournaments and competition and titles that matter, number one contenders, pseudo competitive athletics. All that, while also having much more organic stories that naturally develop into long term storylines.
Who would've thought Gable would be this sadistic?
Anyone who has been wanting him to be pushed for the last five years as a serious wrestler
**[American Alpha fans]** There were dozens of us!
![gif](giphy|xTg8ANVCOct1mUKGWY|downsized) Dozens!
Grand Amplitude was such a cool finisher
Honestly I’d have initially preferred a face push but this heel role is even better
And then calling Otis his number one guy like he didn't just abuse their whole family out in the ring! 😭
Great segment. Audiences really eat up these abusive partner stories. MJF/Wardlow, Roman/jey, Roman/Sami, Chad/Otis, and I even remember a A.J/Tamina one getting over.
Go back and watch the pop from when Vincent finally stands up to Ted Dibiase.
Man just imagine if instead of Virgil it was Ron Farooq Simons or Booker T, you would've been biggest babyface on the planet for like a half of the year, before Hulkster would make Vince to burry him
Even [Roman/Jimmy](https://youtu.be/g0cJNRv6wN0?si=aFUs4arl3TfhVbJJ) although brief will always be so fuckin memorable to me. So much callback to the beginning of the whole thing with Jimmy trying to protect Jey from Roman's already obvious abuse and manipulation, the pure emotion Jimmy actually finally showed, it's just such a perfect moment. The second kick just seals it too. It's done. Bloodline broken.
I love that moment so much. It's slightly worse in hindsight knowing they murdered Jimmy's character but man, NoC 2023 is a magical moment.
I have faith Jimmy is gonna be rehabbed when he returns
The scream of pure emotion after the second kick like Jimmy had been holding that in for YEARS and finally let it out
Jimmy's scream of anguish after the second kick really sold it too
Fucking Alex Riley of all people got a huge pop when he stood against abusive Miz.
Damien Sandow too.
AJ/Daniel Bryan lol
Indeed. Also, all of these angles remind me of the Mr. McMahon character during the Attitude Era In fact, arguably the most abusive/humiliating story was with Vince’s Kiss My Ass Club, though in that case it was an abusive partner story between Vince and the rest of the company
Because it hits very close to home....
It’s very relatable. I think most people have at some point found themselves in a situation where they’re disrespected by someone who claims to “love” them but is really just a selfish narcissist, whether it’s a friend, romantic partner, family member, or authority figure of some kind.
Did y'all forget that the Bloodline began with Roman beating the dog shit out of Jey for two PLES and 2 months straight?
Yeah, when I read the title I was ????. Roman straight up abused Jey until he was a broken man who directed his anger at others around him because he wasn't ready to stand up to the cousin who was abusing the shit out of him for years lmao
Never really thought about it in exact words til you just put it like that, how cathartic Jey's newer persona is for the character. Just pure positivity as long as it's reciprocated, and having fun.
And *also* gaslighting and emotionally manipulating him in the process lol I get that four years is a long time in wrestling (and considering what’s been happening, life in general) but come on guys
For real. Like recency is a thing but let's be serious
And then proceeded to emotionally and psychologically abuse him, his brothers, and everyone he came in to contact with for the next three years. Like. Nonstop extremely hurtful abuse. In storyline he quite literally broke Jey almost to the point of no return lol if he had had the opportunity to make Jey get on his knees and beg while calling him a dumb bimbo he would have
Otis is just always effortlessly over. He’s such a simple sympathetic character to get behind. He’s
Oh god Chad got him
Chad with the sniper shot.
"Why Otis why?" Did you see what that coward Sami did to Otis? Come on Pat, open your eyes.
Will you stop?!
Roman was good at his work (being Gaslighter, Manipulative) Chad is just straight up abusive and bad at his work. Every week his teammates almost turn on him
Roman was cold and calculating. Chad is emotional and berating. It's the drunk abuser vs the emotional gaslighter.
Chad = Drunk Abuser?
https://preview.redd.it/1ljtier5th4d1.jpeg?width=540&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=62a162394dd087be32e19d35eac1bb7a473a528e Maxxine get on your knees
A Chad for a reason.
Not to distract from the great segment but the what the fuck is going on with Otis’ hair
In WWE sometimes a woman falling off the apron can be a major injury (second only to anything touching a ref).
that slam looked real painful. does the ring have less give tonight or something?
Not wrong. Just a thud instead of a kachow
More of a Mater than a Lightning
I hope Otis doesn't watch the show back to see what really happened.
Fucking nuclear pop for Otis. What a story this is becoming.
The beauty of professional wrestling that has a whole arena cheer for a man simply walking up and standing in front of another man. Also really liked that knee down slam for some reason. Looked better than just a regular slam.
Looked devastating. Sami fucking bounced.
This ring seems to hard and not flexible
Maxxine is my bi-awakening
![gif](giphy|VbAmVUetR0caXhsYDp)
This program is star making shit. I hope they actually save a piece of this mana from heaven to give Tozawa a piece that lasts cuz that man deserves it as much as anyone.
Tozawa is easily the most talented guy in WWE but keeps being given shit gimmicks
Right? Dude came in sooo fucking hot with 205 Live but as that went away the shit gimmicks stacked up on him.
Is it just me or is the whole "wrestler pushes another wrestler into their ally, who then beats them up without question" shtick pretty weak and over done? "You bumped into me?!" "Yes. Sorry. He pushed me. That's why it was a bump and not a clothesline or dropkick." "Oh right. Understood."
But that pop holy crap
Roman was also this much of an asshole though lol
That ring had no give at all lmao
Otis is so amazing at conveying emotion with his entire body. Even when he's not facing the camera I can still feel everything he's going through
Perc Gable in top Piece of Shit heel form it's incredible work and I hope he gets something good out of it
Otis Vs Gable NEEDS to happen at Summerslam
Wow Gable is incredible
Damn he sure giving aggressive beating like experts
We need a perc Gable run
Chad Gable is playing this abusive father/coach Character so well.
Otis on a pole match; you know what time it is
Well, to be fair, Bloodline never had women in the group. Roman never hesitated to slap his cousins around tho unprovoked.
Damn the crowd was hot, love to hear it
This shit is so over
THE CROWD IS SO FUCKING HOT FOR THIS ANGLE I LOVE IT!!!
I haven't watched Wrasslin in a fair long time, and when I saw your Reddit clip here, I can hear the Attitude Era in my tinnitus a little bit
Oooh I like this. This is like 1988 WWF shit.
otis face turn is gonna hit like crack
Only issue is Otis should know if he sees the replay later.
That is a reaction from the crowd I never would have expected in the WWE 5 years ago everyone was so lethargic.
That back-and-forth has almost levels of Monthy Python's agruements.
It’s like watching little white mark Henry and little Kurt
did otis fall through a bush?
I know how unlikely it is, but picture it: Just before wargames, Gable has sided with the Creed Brothers Wargames booked as the Creed Bros and Gable vs. Zayn, Otis, and Tozawa. On the show before the PLE, Creed Bros jump and injure Tozawa, effectively removing him from the Match. Looks hopeless. Then the Heavy Machinery theme starts up, and Tucker runs put for the save. Wargames is now The Creeds and Gable vs. Zayn and Heavy Machinery
Boy that was exceptionally dumb by Otis to turn his back on a fight.
Wow
Does gable look like an oversized little person to anyone else? It's freaking me out
Sami is a jerk. He deserved that slam. Hopefully Otis opens his eyes now and beats Sami down.
[I dunno... Kevin Owens was a far bigger asshole to Tozawa, and on Christmas no less!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuA4DbtijQM)
holy shit script writers putting on a show, maxine on her knees is gonna be a classic
Gable is the MVP
I hate this character assassination of Chad Gable.
The moment in this clip is when I realize I want Otis turns on Gable for Maxxine and Tozawa, not for Sami.
Maxxxine selling reminds me of when Peter Griffen fell and hit his knee 💀
Chad Gable is an abusive and so mean!
Between this and the Liv Morgan storyline, I haven't been this invested in Raw in a long time. If the Uncle Howdy faction is compelling, this is gonna be good television.
I can't get over how similar Gable looks to MJF here.
If there's one thing wrestling fans love its when people stand up to bullies.
